@@TheInsaneShecklador this is one of my favourite older builds, my second build was a shopping mall which I intended to do a sports store inspired by the gym on the top floor of a hotel in my first settlement build. This is also my first build with concrete. I built a sauna (inspired by a build on yt) next to the main building but when I saw the steam in the morning I knew I had to build another one. I didn't know group select back then so I built it as best I could but I couldn't get that last foundation in so I turned it into a zen rock garden, (lemons = lemonade) 5:07 yep there gourd blossoms, I also like using thistles. 8:25 R.I.P tinker tom I know what you mean by having so many build ideas but I'm sure that your build ideas are a little more complicated than mine 🤔 Thanks for watching and not mentioning my misspelling on the sign 🤣👍

@@TangoandCaps So the garden was a "happy accident" funny how those often turn into some of the best parts of our builds.

@@TheInsaneShecklador can you guess the glitch I just learned before I built this.? Those aliens from the super mutant cafe (near fen Street) are unique and won't respawn, so is the little baby rattle and baby bottle. Talking of baby bottles, i just watched your 'nipple butter' video about 10 mins ago 🤣 Those objects above the aliens are fireworks shells. I tried to dupe as much stuff for a toy /comic shop so I don't have to worry if things go missing or de-spawn (like some magazines did when I went round collecting them up) I found the bobble heads and nuka recipe books do not like having doubles of themselves in the world, the moment I drop a duplicate the other will dissappear ( recipe books go instantly but the bobble heads will stay until you fast travel) I filled a whole shelving unit with bobble heads but every time I went to JP to dupe more stuff they would slowly disappear in 2s or 3s. 🤔(there OK on the bobble head display though) I should do a night time tour because it does look better at night This is my first (and probably last) build using vault stuff, it suited the store look but doesn't go with my build style. Who knows, maybe I might build a vault at vault 88 one day. @@TangoandCaps I knew of the tiny alien and bottle. That's why I assumed you duped it. Fireworks. Shows how little I use those. I did put some weather change shells in my Nordhagen Bar video but I don't think I've ever crafted a regular firework shell and dropped it on the ground before. Thanks for the heads up. I wonder if the save and reload trick required when doing dupes of stacked items might work with the books and bobbles? I've never tried duping those before.

@TheInsaneShecklador There's other junk items like Teddy bears that respawn, I wonder why the alien doesn't? That weather shell looked great on the fruit machine in your nordhagen build, I've used them for decoration but not like that. The colour of the ribbon/string is (obviously) the colour of the firework, I was just looking for items that might look good in a toy store and they looked kinda cool. I've never done the stacked items trick before so I don't know what you mean, I will watch your video on it later 👍 I watched a video ages ago about using the conveyer and 'storage' hopper to replicate items 1 at a time so that's the method I use (it took f#!*ing ages) so learning a quicker way would be nice. I don't replicate resources at all, I like to scavenge for those, even if I was on pc and could get infinite resources, I still wouldn't do it 😄

This is the only settlement where I used a big fusion generator (150) and I still thought I would run out of power . Despite how low the frame rate gets, the settlement didn't crash once. Thanks for watching my friend 👍

@@ByTheSpirit84 I used to use the warehouse pillars all the time (I still use the small one occasionally) but I find the concrete one ( or the ball track supports) much better for a few reasons: 1. They don't snap to other things which drives me crazy when I'm trying to do wood floors etc. 2. You can group select objects from underneath ( e.g put a roof on the floor, raise it up with the pillar, then place the pillar underneath the roof then group select it) that's how I put roofs on scaffolding frames to make a market stall. 3. The 'nobbly" top of the warehouse pillar can't grab anything in group select and the bottom has to be all the way in the ground before you can sink the pillar while group selecting. 4. Warehouse pillars can't group select each other but concrete ones can. 5. Ball track supports work best at hangman's alley when all the rest are crap...........phew ! Hope this helps 👍

@@All-Fur-Coat_No-Trousers thanks for watching another one bud and for the cool comments 👍 What surprised me most about this build is how well the settlers moved around. I started the build at the gap in the wall (on the left) as you go up the stairs of the screen. The campfire/pillar glitch doesn't work on the structure but it's very squishy and you can easily snap things into it (did you notice the scaffolding frames at the back of the shop, snapped right through the roof). I used w/house ladders and concrete foundations to be able to pillar a 1/4 wood floor from the outside level with the gap, this is the anchor piece so it has to be straight. From there you can snap anything you want. The short 'half floor' scaffolding frame on the roof of the screen was just placed there (no glitch required) and you can snap thin scaffolding ladders right down the inside. The wood floors (the ones with the sleeping bag and cooler)were pillar glitched into the metal girder by placing a campfire on a rug and putting the rug on the girder with the fire in 'mid air'. Hope this helps and have some fun building, I certainly did 🙂✌️

@TangoandCaps I did notice those scaffolding frames snapped through the roof! I actually did something similar a couple times when I built on top of the movie screen. You are a lot more resourceful than I am, though, to be sure when it comes to how best to use the vanilla structures. But I learn a lot watching videos like yours.

My ❤️ for Orange squeasy's "Egret tours arena' was shown in this build (and the next one) 150 various bottle's 130 various cans 70+ bones/Skulls 60+ burnt magazines And hundreds of other junk, food weapons etc. 27 raiders 2 robots and a two headed partridge in a mutated pear tree. This build is the most unstable settlement I've ever built, that's why the tour is 6 minutes. It even crashes when I load in the game. Thanks for watching bud 👍

@@TheInsaneShecklador hi sheck , This is one of my favourite looking settlements at night. I love the look of the cycling lights on the raider tents, thought I discovered it myself but I've seen it in alot of other builds. ( still awesome though) I agree with the different wood foundations and I must confess those wood floors pillar glitched into the ground and porch were done much later when I learned your campfire trick. This was the 14th build on the same character so I was running low on settlements to build at. This build was totally inspired by my nightclub 'jungle room " and has 22 raiders (originally 27 but I got rid of some) and this build didn't crash once. That's why I was OK with coming back and doing some campfire glitching. I should have re-done the wood foundations and mixed up the floors but I didn't want to change to much. I watched EZEs 'pack rats' build again last week funnily enough and it's more of a scaver build than pack and it was the inspiration for my JP 'junkstore' and my 'finch junkyard". I obviously tried the wire fence first but it was to wide and the one you saw at Dalton was supposed to look like this one but I forgot I couldn't sink the posts into the wood (didn't know fire/pillar glitch back then) and the posts were to high so I used the switches instead. I'll be surprised if no one hasn't done something like this after 10 years of this game being out , I'm a Johnny come lately after all. 🙂👍

@@TangoandCaps Sometimes it takes some new blood to think up new ideas. Those of us who've been playing forever are stuck in our old ways to some extent.

@@Babyboomer_59 I can normally cheat the weather in far harbor by sleeping overnight then fire up a few weather shells, if that doesn't clear it , reload and repeat. That's how I get sunny weather for my settlement tours in FH but unfortunately it doesn't work at echo lake lumber 😪

@@Cloudedmuffin you can't drop caps to decorate with in a no mods build so you have to carry them back like this. Thanks for watching 👍

@@Cloudedmuffin I guess they are weightless but I was talking about carrying some unique item you can't put in your PipBoy 90% of the way across the map and then dying right before reaching your settlement. Even worse are things you have to push on the ground with another item.

@@brianmcmeat1306 thanks for watching bud, and yes sometimes I do change my mind mid build. This build was the 5th attempt at getting it below 15 minutes, I normally do a concept build and then reload and see if I can do it below the 15 min limit. That's why I was rushing a bit in this video 😄👍

@@TangoandCaps God do I know that feeling. Back in the day I could only record 15 minutes at a time and would end up having to do re-shoots. My flickering neon is one I remember doing countless times.

@@TheInsaneShecklador I normally have a timer set to go off at 14:30 to tell me to finish up. Was thinking of doing larger builds but doing it in separate videos. Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets frustrated with the 15 min limit.

@@TangoandCaps I'm able to record up to one hour on my Xbox now but I still edit things down to 15 minutes or less. Much easier than doing 15 minutes in a single take like I used to have to do.

@@bushwhackingprepper9162 hey bud, if your trying to do what I did with the fire/pillar glitch then it won't work if the ground your sinking in has two layers ( e.g a floor on top of a roof ) That's why I took the wooden pre-fab out first before I pillar glitched the lantern. Hope that helps 😁👍

@@danieldbdb thanks for watching, If your interested in starting to build I can assure you that you will put many more thousands of hours in the game. There's a video called '50 tips & tricks' by @orangesqueasy that will teach you better than I could. But most of this build was 'build order ', To place the metal pre-fab on top of the wood one, you need the wooden upper floor (the thick one) to do it . The bottom of the wood floor will snap to the roof of the wooden pre-fab while the floor of the metal pre-fab will snap to the top. It's a lot of fun building and experimenting, give it a go yourself 😁👍
