I think part of why this epieode was bad was because it wasn't written with the intention of exploring a black issue, but with the intention of showing how a white person should react in this situation - if you're white and a black person (or any person) is into you because of a race preference, then you should do the good thing and dump them or suffer the imagined consequences, like penny and her friends freaking out over it.

Hispanic culture also has colorism, there used to be a saying I always heard when visiting family in another country, "tienes que mehorar la raza." Which means you gotta improve the race by always trying to date someone who has a lighter skin than you or dating someone who has european ancestory and not southern european cause they're the dark whites, yes theres even colorism amongst white people too. Also growing up sucked too since I never fully looked white since I was half indigenous and got a ton of racist remarks from both sides

I honestly thought it was refreshing for it to be in reality but honestly I might be a bit biased, I love the 20s and it’s music ect.

i recommend you read the dandadan manga the chemistry is really good between momo and okarun and its just a great time.

Personally I'm the exact opposite lol. As I've gotten older, gotten more responsibilities (marriage/house/kids/bills) I've come to appreciate the more silly/ridiculous aspects of anime. I don't really care about something serious/mature. That being said I appreciate my fellow millennial otaku who have essentially "grown out" of tnat type of entertainment. To each their own

i am really enjoying "Goukon ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi", the characters have some pretty fun dinamics and its just fun to watch

I used to love The Proud Family as a kid. But, totally hate the show now due to EVERYTHING this sister said in the video 😢. What's considered "Black culture" in this country to me needs a whole reboot tbh.

Now talk about black women hate nerdy black men. Hell I only dated white women growing up, because black women didn't like me 😢. Wasn't "black enough" wasn't "ghetto enough". Tbh I hate 99% of "black shows". It's full of stupidity and ignorance specifically from the black community.

I haven’t watched the reboot or original but I was intrigued by show in general ; heard about this episode I didn’t have time watch it myself so I clicked on this vid have say you have very good points oncely a point view I was unaware of but now am and oncely glad I am, now am gonna go watch more you’re vids since I want to learn more since well am not educated on this topic I want to be either way love the vid and am now a new sub lol)

Glad you spent time on Dijonay’s character. Everyone goes to critique the elephant in the room with this episode and a few others. Little do they actually point out how it seems they still haven’t learned their lesson in writing terms with certain characters

Fantasy and historical anime are also my favorite: I really enjoyed Yatagarasu this summer and plans to watch Orb this Fall! I'm not impressed by DanDanDanDan either, I've stopped pushing myself through the discomfort of fan service to appreciate a story and I havent regretted it yet.

If you like anime about adults, you might enjoy Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otakus. Edit: Yakuza Fiancé has me suffering from 2nd ML, again! And yes, they should have made them college students bec. Im reading the mange and the ML is very active.

on the bad vibes you got from Dandadan, I will tell you that sex as a common thing in the series does not go away. At least, not up to where the manga currently is, but it has been showing up less and less with time, and there isn't anything quite as jarringly sexualized as that first episode shot of Momo. The only other time I can think about something like that happening to one of the girls is a single shot in an upcoming arch where Momo gets part of her shirt ripped off right over her bra, but even then she gets an outfit change within the chapter so it isn't that long. The same can't be said of the guys though, Jiji (the red haired guy) in particular is wearing exclusively his underwear and has people commenting on his "athletic body" for what is probably going to be the majority of his screentime in the first season of the anime. Being caught up on the Manga, I also definitely think your criticisms of the characters and their dynamics being just okay and it overall being written for the male gaze still hold true. The romance between Okarun and Momo is cute, but I don't think they have that good of a dynamic honestly, and the series has a major issue of character bloat where every arch, not a single exception so far, has introduced at least 1 new recurring character, and characters outside of Momo and Okarun rarely get that much attention outside of their introduction arch, even if you can tell they're clearly trying with some of them. And even with 2 protagonists, there are a lot of points where it really feels like Okarun takes the spotlight a lot more than Momo does, though it's not too egrigious thankfully. What I do mind more though is that Okarun has a few different things going on in his character arch, whereas Momo's character mostly centers around her relationship with Okarun, which doesn't sit right with me even if her level of focus and screentime isn't that much lower than Okarun's.

DanDaDan gets infinitely crazier and better soon, it’s a little slow right now but it ramps up. Trust me

The boys is garbage writing. All the complaints lindsay elis makes about Bright applies directly to The Boys!!! I need someone to acknowledge that!!! Please im shouting into the void no one is acknowledging the horrifically bad writing!!! I feel like they should’ve introduced her much later into the season, and focused on the codependent relationship between Homelander and Neuman since that was heavily advertised, and (Spoilers) Sage spends too much of the season lobotomized, and Neuman dies at the end anyways. I mean seriously, Neuman does Sage’s job for her at one point where she convinces the corporations to join his side. I could go into so much more detail with how they botched Sage’s character…
