Hi everybody on a recent family vacation to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we made a day trip over to Laona Wisconsin to the Laona and Northern Railway and Camp 5 Farm and Logging Museum. Hopefully L&N 152 will be back on the rails.
Where's that double track line in your intro?
I hear l&n 152 will be a 2-8-0 :(
Literally the only thing on the entire property worth seeing. They could demolish literally everything else leaving just the WDWRR and I would not be the least bit upset.
Just so you will know, that is KY highway 52, not US 52. Great video, have ridden that train a couple of times over the years. They do a great job!
Thanks for the info!
Rode and operated on 2546 many occasions when I volunteered at KRM back in the early 90's. They didn't have L&N 411 or the ex CSX switcher then. Great video!!
Durbin Rocket 3 deserves to be back on the spotlight in the future.
@@brianfalzon6739 I would agree but after talking to a few folks who work at the D&GVR I was told the boiler for the No.3 climax is shot and needs replaced.
@@scenicrailproduction7290 why is that
@brianfalzon6739 - because steam boilers are hard worked and under extreme stress from the steam pressure when in service! As the Climax No.3 boiler is probably original to the locomotive, then it is about one hundred years old and overdue for replacement! If this is the case then the cost of repairs will be huge!
Why do they switch sides now with witch the locomotive pulls the train? For show? Just seems silly the do it at the Cass depot before they depart now
😀😀😀😀
the size of some of the stock they can run on this old trackwork is hilarious.. I'm guessing they only run the large coaches and diesels on the lower sections of the line?
Nice video. Love the Cass trains
When you get to three stations can you ride the train on the front row please?

Beautiful very beautiful special I never seen train like this never you science education original God bless you and protect you from strangers savagery
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I see 5 has taken 4’s place this time around. 5 doesn’t get enough spotlight, so this is nice to see.
They have been alternating them pretty good
I went there and I thought it was pretty cool, you could even see me at the far right at 7:06, poorly holding the phone while recording with one hand, wait nvm, with both hands. I was there until the start of round 2.
Glad to see the line between Cass and Durbin connected again, since the washouts! We really need to make it back and ride this line.
The Central of Georgia 5 chime sounded like a star brass 5 chime to me
enjoying these tour vids keep up the good work. any chance of a crane or other equipment video?
Thank you for watching. Yes I do plan to make some more videos showcasing the museum’s collection just stuff got busy and I haven’t had the time. But hopefully soon I’ll start doing museum tour videos again.

They need to replace that horn on that SD70M it sounds awful
5:17 That K5LA is awesome beyond description
Where did the car go to?
Great video. Like me!
Glad to see Roger E Broggie back in service, personally I prefer the darker green. Great footage!
Strasburg gave Roger the best overhaul thus far. Besides the repaint, the text font and the tender logo are all brand new.
@@davidng2336 agreed, they definitely do a great job. Itll be nice to see Roy nice and fresh once its completed in a few years.
Cool that Roger is back in service. It's interesting to see that Walter is pulling Roy's consist though. Roy's getting refurbished sure but I wonder why they changed the sets around.
Most likely because Walter's coaches are under maintenance at the moment.
Great video, thanks for your time! The engine is beautiful and sounds wonderful!
Wow, they're really flying from Fantasyland to Mainstreet!
The No. 3 Roger E. Broggie recently returned to service on February 21, 2024. I'm happy you were able to catch him in action! The only locomotive not at the Magic Kingdom at this time is No. 4 Roy O. Disney, which is now at the Strasburg Rail Road workshops in Strasburg, PA, awaiting its refurbishment. Roy is the last locomotive to be refurbished as part of this refurbishment program, which began with the No. 2 Lilly Belle back in 2010. Here’s the timeline of locomotive refurbishments for Walt Disney World: No. 2 Lilly Belle: overhauled between 2010-2016, returned to service in November 2016. No. 1 Walter E. Disney: overhauled between 2016-2020, returned to service in December 2022 when the railroad reopened. No. 3 Roger E. Broggie: overhauled between 2019-2023, returned to service in February 2024. No. 4 Roy O. Disney: overhauled between 2024-present. Estimated to return between 2027-2030
At least they didn’t tighten the bell too much like they did on Walter, or pull off another EP Ripley.
@@Steamfan1 I would have screamed if the swapped the bell, especially because Roger Broggie himself requested this bell as he disliked the original one. The bell on Walter, on the other hand, seems to have been loosened compared to when it first entered service.
I "think" that is the same caboose that has been on display in a person's yard adjacent to the CSX "S&NA North" main right on the AL/TN line. I noticed it suddenly disappeared recently. Whether it is indeed that one or another one, good to see it being restored.
Yes, it came from Ardmore, AL.
Nice video!
This train will always hold a special place in my heart, it was the first steam locomotive I rode behind. And after the journey I got to blow No. 4’s whistle, which was a big goal on my bucket list!
Enjoyed watching this. Thanks for putting this up.
we never bother with half that stuff on the Nevada Northern. Mark says its costs too much.
Cool video!!

Not every day do you see a csx switcher like that
I am pleased you guys have this nice event. I have been attending "toots" since 1978. The ones at Jones, MI. and ST. Clair, MI. had 3 inch piping at 150 psi from the boilers to the manifolds. That was great for all sizes of whistles up to the largest 12 inch diameters which have 3 inch pipe size inlets. I would like to bring my 12 inch diameter Star Brass chime to this event. At full power, it is a thing of beauty. A powerful, deep throated, melodious big ship sound. What size piping and pressure do you guys have ? Check out my "All 12 inch chimes posting". You might like it. Thanks.
Thanks for watching they were running at about 150psi and the manifold has a 2in female NPT fitting.
Harry, we had as big as 2” diameter pipe on about 165-175 psi. Was a fun event for sure. Hope your doing well bud.
Thank You. 2 inch will blow big whistles rather well. What size is your hose to the manifolds ?@@scenicrailproduction7290
Hi, thanks for the reply. What size is the hose to the manifold ? 2 inch will blow big whistles rather well. CJ, is Youngstown toot gone now ?@@C.J.Holden
@@harrybarry2291 I don’t know the story of that deal. Think they are more focused on developing their narrow-gauge railroad for excursions.
This is going to be cool
I was nearly there, but my grandpa was just a little late to buy the tickets
Those are real good horns. All on KSHC #1100. Fresh train horns. :]
Only 20 mins from my house, try to go once a year!
