Does anyone realize that lecrae just blasphemed when he said. “But I ain’t wanna be like him I wanna be him”

“...Without seein’ how many hearts we can break first.” If my ex’s father had taught him that, he might be a real man instead of a coward who makes excuses. On the other hand, my daddy didn’t grow up with someone to teach him how to treat a woman right. He still doesn’t entirely know, cause he’s got so many insecurities from being abused and abandoned by his own daddy that he spends way too much time trying to save face and accidentally hurting others in the process. Yet despite that, he managed to teach my brother how to love his wife. He taught my sister and I to know our own worth and to protect our honor as women. He’s been married to my mama for nearly 40 years, and she’s the only woman he’s ever been with. And all that added up to me knowing I deserved better than a cheater once I found out the truth. Cause even if he didn’t quite know himself, he looked to the Bible to find out how to teach his children.

What I love about Lecrae is that he is so *real*. He made mistakes before he was saved, but now he warns others not to make those same mistakes. He tells women to know their worth and guard themselves. He tells men to be men and not fool around. He talks about so many issues that other artists in Christian music tend to shy away from, but that need to be talked about. If all we’ve got is media that tells people lies about these things, but no music that tells the truth, where does that leave us?
