Born and raised in Chicago. No offense but I'm getting tired of the transplants. If you are from a small town be proud of where you are from. Don't come trying to be cool here.

I'm already hip im leaving florida trying to wrap this up by mid January and head to chicago. My biggest hurdle is that chicago is more strict on credit scores, Florida really doesn't care. I'm stuggling to find housing with my credit although i have a good job.

why dont you mention the public transportation of pace and metra stations. your construction footage around the 5 minute mark is NOT elgin, that footage is not even close to elgin why would you mention chicago and schaumburg for night life with st charles and the west and east dundee and aroura with a thriving night life way closer? the parks shown in the 7minute mark is not from elgin either.... your talking about zip codes for taxes, but why not mention that elgin sits in cook county and kane county which would also a reflection of the taxes?

Forget moving to chicago. A total dump. Ive lived in elgin 10 years. Its a fantastic city to live in and our Mayor is a rwal Mayor. Not a chicago bumpkin. I pay $4400 a year property taxes and its a great place to live

Kane county is not cook county. Live in kane county. Lower taxes. Elgin has cook and kane county

Take metra big timber elgin line from metra station. Great, enjoyable affordable ride.

Elgin is voted a top 10 affordable cities in America to live in. Ive lived here ten years and its a fine town. I can say this trutfully.

Lived here for 40 years. West side has more newer homes than the east side. Good Hospitals, good fire department coverage, good access to express ways, and trains. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Good schools. 1/2 hour drive in all directions to local jobs. 1 hour to Chicago. 1/2 hour to Ohare airport, 1hour to Mid Way airport, and 1 and a 1/2 hours to Milwaukee airport. Diverse population. I have lived on both sides of the river.
