Hi! I'm from Mexico and even though I was very very young while the emo harassment happened, I remembered it vividly. There were people everywhere, even on tv, calling to hate on these groups (using homophobic arguments) and persecute them. There was on the news how people would even throw bricks at them. It was horrible. It was such a big event that had a climax in a public confrontation between (said) punks and emos (that was conciliated in the most random way, when a Hare Krishna group got in between) (yes, that happened, I'm not making that up). An additional fact: this event was the first mission of the recently created COPRED (Council to Prevent and Eliminate Discrimination of Mexico City), that later focused also on discrimination towards LGBTTQ+ population. I remember going to a literal museum where they would expose a videogame about killing emos, to exhibit the violence they were victims from. Thanks for mentioning it.

Maybe "Black Pete" was going to be an ally to Mickey and Oswald. Hearing the name makes me think of the phrase "black sheep" and it might represent that he's not mischievous like the other Pete variants. That would also explain why his outro is so upbeat.

i remember once i went to the disney store as a kid after they released the oswald plushie (i think it released around 2011?) and when i went to go buy it the cast member who was helping me check out told me about the plans for an epic mickey-themed disney park ride and i remember being sososo excited. i had never heard anything else of it until you brought it up here, i started to think i only imagined it lol
