Based on True Events. On an ongoing list of things concessionists despise to hear, a request for "Fresh Popcorn" is near the top. Depending on the popper, concessionists tend to receive burns when fulfilling this request. This is a short narrative for my UCSC 170B Production Class. A huge thank you to all who helped out! Thing I don't understand is if Grandpa Joe had slippers, why did he have to wait until the floor wasn't so cold just to get out of that bed? If I were Charlie, I would've put that bread on the far end of the room from where Grandpa Joe is, telling him, "You want to eat? Come and get it!" Bedridden for 20 years because the floor was too cold? Bullshit!
Even when I first saw this as a kid, I knew there was something about Grandpa Joe that wasn't quite right. He lays on his ass in bed for over 20 years or so, having Charlie's mom wait on him and the other three grandparents hand and foot just because the "floor is too cold," yet the floor isn't too cold for him to get into a song and dance routine after Charlie comes home with a Golden Ticket.
Grandpa joe is a boomer
THE GRANDPA LOOKS LIKE MY FRIEND'S PSYCHIATRIST
Why is the 2005 adaptation of the book better? Becauss Grampa Joe is not a lazy bastard. F this man. I just can not tolate jerks
20 years and can suddenly stand up to go to a Chocolate Factory with no leg issues…ever hear of atrophy?
Grandpa Joe reminds me of the worst roommate ever
Grandpa Joe: the true villain of the film.
If he stays in that bed for twenty years how does he take a shit? Lol
Grandpa joe is true garbage
Everytime I see this scene the first thing that always comes to mind is how bad that bed must smell...
I like the dig at the Mom too, snoozing away while she says "not enough hours in the day".
Grandpa Joe was playing the long game😂😂😂. A bit of goodlyck for me😆😆😆😆
I hope everyone understands that Charlie's entire family got to go to the factory after he won in the end. So in a sense, Charlie's golden ticket wasn't just for him, it was for the entire family, including Grandpa Joe.
Oh yeah? And who immediately interrupts Wonka and asks if he can move in. Joe was a self centered, vicious old bastard.
@@peterp2153 I see you're one of the haters.
When people started getting their covid checks.
LMAO.
I hate it when he sings “I’VE got a golden ticket” mf thats not yours thats Charlies
This video and title cracks me up lol!
so grandpa joe claimed the floor was too cold to get out of bed, but he had slippers under the bed and a cane the whole time and waited til his grandson won a free tour to a chocolate factory to ask for them? makes sense 😂
0:13 Mr. Water Rat: Soon as I get my strength back, I'm gonna get out of this bed and help him.
:D LOLOLOLOL
So I’m guessing they poop and pee in the bed?
Guarantee when he got back from the factory he was like “awww man I can’t walk no more…damn I was just about to get a job too”
I think lots of men picked out what they wanted to become and that is grandpa Joe who is living off his daughter.
Grandpa Troll
Maybe if the floor wasn’t so cold
can you imagine spending 20 years in bed? talk about a boring and wasted life
Not sticking up for Grandpa Joe, but there were several able bodied people in bed with him. Who broke their legs?
There were three.
@@theintrovertedaspie9095 I don't disagree with this observation. Maybe I should have said there are a couple other people in the bed who may or may not be able to help with income Probably not much help though. I think Joe did get out, just not very often and it wasn't helpful for the story to show him getting out intermittently. But I think he bought his own tobacco and a chocolate bar or two. Perhaps this has been addressed and maybe he doesn't actually leave until chocolate factory time. Please enlighten me.
If I was Charlie’s mom I would’ve found a way to make him bed ridden again
So hes just been pissing and shitting the bed for 20 years. Scumbag 😂😂😂😂
Grandpa Joe isn't all that infirm. He's just too lazy to get out of bed and makes excuses every time and just gets up to celebrate exciting things he likes.
That doesn't look comfortable for all four of Charlie's grandparents to be sleeping in the same bed and on opposite ends of the same blanket.
I feel like Jack Albertson would've made a great marvel villian
You want compromise for 20 years? How’s this 20 years in the can. I wanted manicotti I compromised. I ate grilled cheese off the radiator instead.
Hahahahahahah omfg!
I like when he does his little dance routine. It’s like he’s mocking Charlie’s mother to her face.
Grampa Joe is the biggest crook in this movie more that willy Wonka himself
Jack Albertson who played Grandpa Joe was 63 years old when this movie was filmed. That means Grandpa Joe was laying around in bed all day since he was 43…
His character was supposed to be like 90 years old in the book. So he was lying in bed for like 20 years. So thats since he was 70.
@@theintrovertedaspie9095 That makes more sense, but in the movie he doesn’t look anywhere near 90 so the whole 20 years thing comes across as sounding kind of extreme. Like we need some answers why you were in bed since you were a middle aged man lol
@@TheMahonj Say what you want about the Tim Burton version, but his Grandpa Joe at least was 90 like in the book, not to mention 2005 Joe DID have a job w/ Wonka but got laid off due to the thieving secret recipe spies.
Imagine how bad it smells in that room
Yep, smelling like nasty, funky feet, old butt, piss, old, and new, and once again butt.
Bed riddin for 20 years? I'm calling BS
1:06 her own words are ringing in her mind as she sleeps. lol.
Looks like you have your strength back Grandpa, now time to get a job you bum.
I reckon they were encouraging Grandpa Joe to smoke, so it'd kill him quicker, the freeloading benefit cheat.
Greatest take on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ever.
"Look at me....look at me....up and about.......maybe if the floor wasn't so cold". LMAO
20 years of pooping and peeing in the bed and probably not able to change the sheets. Plus, Grandpa Joe has been smoking for 20 years when the family had no bread? Sons of bitches.
Maybe if the floor wasn't so cold there would be enough hours in the day to get this family going
This over really can't and doesn't happen.
these old people suck the life right outta ya
The only just punishment for grandpa Joe in hell would to make him work a real job for the rest of eternity.
The absolute biggest piece of shit in cinematic history, grandpa joe
It's 4:12 am and I literally have tears running down my face. I was waiting for my gf to come out and tell me to STFU and didn't care.I just made a Reel life scenario video of what would happen when Charlie won the Golden Ticket.I pray that I can get people to laugh as much as u made me.Thanks.✌🏾 "There's not enough time in the day.", 😆😆😆😭😭😭😆😆😆😆
