OBGOD3 Dirt Rider (Mark)
США
Добавлен 10 окт 2006
This site is primarily focused on off road motorcycling or dirt biking. Some of the videos are from racing but most from recreational trail riding in parts of Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Tennessee, and North Carolina. I hope to focus more on the recreational side of riding, locations and just enjoying the outdoors.
I will also be adding some not dirt biking content, life things, travel, cars and what I call amateur cooking, grilling and smoking. Stay tuned.

2023 Toyota Tundra 55K Mile Review & Engine Recall Thoughts
Lots of opinions on the engine recall, I am not personally worried about it, 890 trucks so far with teh issue out of 200K+. But os far for me this has been a great truck and no other brand is perfect nor NOT having issues of theier own.

DRL's off/on should be in the infotainment menu under lights.
The DRL’s on the standard headlight are just dimmed headlights
I'm sold on Toyota quality having owned many of them, and dont doubt that the replacement engine will be solid. What I would have a problem with is having any dealership mechanic do the work. This is a major dismantling of the truck that necessitates taking the cab off of the truck. If you think that a flat rate shop mechanic is going to remove and replace all of those components like the factory did, you have another thing coming. I see other issues surfacing from broken connectors, wiring not returned to the proper points, and other issues that will come about by having an uncontrolled method to do this service. All those dealer mechanics are being cheated by lowballing the hours to do this job, so how a mechanic compensates is by cutting corners.
Look up how that works, Toyota dealers can only have specific levels of certifications do an engine. Some dealers may not have those levels and wont be allowed to install the engine. Some dealers have multiple folks with those levels, there are some videos about this on RUclips. Friend of mine is a GM of Toyota dealer and he validated this with me, and if they screw around and dont follow it they can end up in deep trouble with Toyota. I asked about the taking the cab off and was told that is not true, not sure however.
You’re exactly right. But anyone who owns this truck will ever admit it…
@@obgod3 I hope that your buddy is right, and they don't have to remove the cab. That will be a lot less items that have to be disturbed and put back together.
PRAYER'S TO ALL

Kamala Harris stole 1.4 billion dollars from Fema to house illegal aliens now there isn't any money to help hurricane Hellea victims.
Nice truck!
Send some of that out West...
The recall is going to workout for you. Your getting a new engine to replace your high mileage motor. Beautiful
I think he only gets an engine if his blows up
Incorrect, all motors will be replaced under the recall, already got my notice.
@@obgod3what manufacture date is in your door jam?
I believe it is Nov 22
How far are you from Camel Field Road?
It’s my kids place so I am unsure
How far are you from Blackberry Inn Rd? Have family that live right off Reems Creek, can't get ahold of them.
No one is at the house right now, and I am unsure of the proximity but as of Sunday there was no service anywhere there, the folks I know and left the area.
Not one complaint on my 24 Terra Pro //best truck out there imo !
Yeh at the end of the day they have less than 1k failures, that is a very small percentage about the same as the gmc 6.2’s failing but I’ll be dammed if folks talk about that :)
With regards to the tires, I think the stock size is 265/60/20?. You said 265/65/20. Nevertheless the 275/65/20 you currently have fit ok?
Yes your right, yes the 275/65/20 fit perfectly and that size tire in most any brand are some of the least expensive for some reason.
275/65R20 vs 265/60R20 34.1 inch compared to 32.5 inch 4.9% difference in rolling diameter Truck sits 3/4inch higher
Where in Colorado is this? Thanks.
Rio Grand National forest near South Fork.
Gerrard Co.
Thanks for taking any video at all Mark, it was a great trip. BTW, that bike is a 2013 Husaberg TE300, not a 2012 Husky. I know that you know that, you just didn't tell your mouth that in the commentary. Lol. Cheers to Scott for selecting such a fine chariot for us all to pass around!
My bad…been a long week already lol
I just bougjtbthr 23 limited LB with 11.5 miles for $49k I'm excited for it's arrival
What are your thoughts on the Soft-Tex seats? Comfortable or breaking down at all?
They are comfortable for me and just did a cross country road trip
The camera does not justice to how gnarly the trail is.
Yeh there is some steep stuff at brushy, and a lot of elevation changes. It is Colorado but it’s pretty cool, and sometimes more technical.
Seems like the line down the hike a bike spot is off to the right down the boulders. Getting hurt is not an option and the GoPro never seems to show reality. Gonna have to visit there. Great footage
The better line is actually up to the ride, a little spookier but it is the better line. I should never have followed my buddy LOL
I have the same cover. I like it, but there is a flaw. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem... the right side of the top trim piece on the tailgate always gets scraped by the sharp metal edges of the tonneau cover when closing the tailgate. I've tried adjusting it, and received the same result. It's been slowly removing the black rubber off of the trim piece.
I can see that, but so far mine is not doing that, 55K miles on it.
I have a 2023. Tundra platinum Got. It in August i have no issues so far 6.789 miles on it i love it so much power Comfortable to drive i have change the oil 2-time so far go ing to chg it at 10.000 miles .and every 5000 after that. no wind noise no cracking or noise at all runs perfect. The only issue I’ve had is the seat driver seat. The lower extender doesn’t work and I took it to the dealer. They fixed it for one day at work and now it’s broken again. They said they recalibrated it and I’ve been mechanic for 50 years and I know that motor was bad
Does your tundra have the pano roof?
Nope
Awesome video and riding! What trail section was that with the steep climbs and switchbacks where you were talking about how awesome it was? I ride out at Brushy on a Kawasaki KX 450. I was just out there this past Friday.
there are a bunch, 9c, trail 5 but there are also good climbs on 1b and c
Thanks for the review, mine arrives next week. :)
Hope it is doing well for you.
how many miles now? still running good?
45K and no issues so far
@@obgod3 glad to hear it
Oh goodness. Bring the right bike! Yikes
Just re-learning to ride dirt after… get ready for it… 53 years! I’ve been on road bikes and Big Scooters for decades, just got a Yamaha TW200, possibly the safest tamest dirt ride out there, and I’m LOVING IT!!! Went up Girard Ridge road tonight, felt my legs starting to stretch and get stronger, my shoulders hurt like hell but it’s that “good pain” from hard work. Thanks for a GREAT vid so inspiring! I’m sure I look like a moped rider from behind, LOL… Keep the Rubber Side DOWN! :-)
Keep going and congrats on getting back to it!
Welcome back to dirt biking after 53 years, I’m 60 and love dirt biking so much I moved to where I can ride to the best trails I’ve ever ridden , straight from home. There’s on trail tips videos with my clients posted up on my channel if you want a refresher 😀👍❗️
@@rooster63 I’ll check them out, Thanks! Went on a 7 hour ride last sunday from Castella, Ca to Trinity Center Ca via Ramshorn Road, a VERY rocky bastard of a ride but we did great and the TW handled it swell, except I had too much tire pressure should have brought a pump and lowered it.
Very cool man, love the commentary. Guiding and riding, and helping riders develop technical skills with on the spot one on one coaching and demos on the bigger challenges is a lot of fun. My goal for each and every rider is they end the day more confidence and skill, along with big smiles and tired muscles 😀❗️
How did you get rid of the decals?
One issue is many people are practically deaf -iE they tune out everything which is why people can sit and listen to screaming children. Point being the wind noise is not great and there are quality and design flaws which would require complete retooling. So many crappy mechanics today also can’t hear stuff. They are just manual jockeys -they only can do what Mitchell software tells them to do.
Why no moon roof?
Don’t really care for them - don’t like direct sun on my head lol
I’m buying a used one with 40 hours, looks clean just like that one, also it’s my first dirtbike, not sure if I made the right choice.
Can’t answer if it’s right for you but it’s a great bike and will last you a long time - it’s just a baby with only 40 hours - just ride it
How do you compare Brushy to Uwharrie?
Brushy is a real trail system, Uwharrie is a jeep trail…..even though brushy has a lot of two track its fun and you dont see many ATV’s out there, but there is tons of single track also. No comparison, I did Uwharrie once and will never go back. Even though it is much closer to me.
7:50 pulling "Dave's Hill" on the 350 was awesome. The hooked up brappy power that bike has is insane 😆
Nice video! Thanks for the insight Did you ever install that screen projector? If so, do you have a video on it
I do have one now, it’s ok, I dont think they reduce fingerprints very well. But stop some glare. Unfortunately I did not do a video.
Just ordered this for my 22 Tundra along with the TS Elevate rails. Replacing a Diamondback SE cover, situation changed and carrying taller items now and removing the Diamondback all the time has become tiresome. Looking forward to the X4s.
Just got one. No wind noise in mine. Sounds like you got a 🍋
Nice ride. I didn't know there was such a thing as single track without rocks. Good figure. I'm in southern NM.
Yeh we are in the flatlands of NC the mountains have plenty of rocks :)
Wind noise? Are you flying?
I have the same truck, love it but what's the tsb and what is a bump stop issue that you corrected? Also, which cell phone mount do you use? Mine tends to bottom out in the rear when going over a speed bump, granted i do keep mine in comfort mode. Do you have the same issue?
There is a TSB for teh bump stops not being adjusted properly, easy to do yourself also, lots of videos on YT for this. Cell phone mount is just an Amazon generic mag safe stick on mount.
Thanks for the review well done
Any time!
Does your truck have heated steering wheel? If so, does it heat up enough for you?
Yes it works well
Do you think is better tundra than tacomas, seen the prices?
Never drove a Tacoma I much prefer full size trucks
What is your window doing to need a regulator?
It had a skip - all good now
Holly crap 2023 tundra and you already put 20000 miles on it, 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s got 33k now lol
Screw the trendy Stanley cups, a Buc-ee's cup is clearly where it's at! Interesting that the cleanest and best run food and gas outlets like Buc-ee's and QuikTrip are always privately owned and not traded on the stock market. Buc-ee's is clearly next level and apparently the chain is opening a 120 pump 74,000 square foot store in Johnstown CO soon. This is bad news for the Johnson's corner in that area, but Johnson's will always have it's lot lizards 😆
Get the amp step !
This car never gets what they, toyota , claims. City, never, barely 15 mpg. Highway, barely 19.
I average 19.5 and typically get 21 back and forth to work.
It depends mostly on how you drive. If you have a lead foot, turboed engines are really inefficient on gas mileage.
Same here i get 19 on city with my 23 1794
Have you had any issues with the keyless entry? On my 2024 Limited it doesn’t always lock/unlock when I grab the handle when dry. When it is wet it almost never works.
I have a 24 limited and i drive about 35 miles each way to work and i usually average 19-20mpg. And i usually drive 70mph
Good review
Thanks!
A good time to put out a couple of those big rain barrels. 😮
