Escort RS Turbo Series One Restoration. Metering head and heating system rebuild.
Its all the little jobs that take up time, in this video I manage to get the wiring loom cleaned up and pulled into the car, I strip the metering head down and rebuild and then I go over the heater system.
Having never touched a metering head before, if anyone spots any mistakes or improvements I can make please let me know.
Sorry if this ones a bit boring, hopefully it helps other out who are undergoing a restoration.

Escort RS Turbo Series One Restoration. Gearbox rebuild, plus gear selector and pedal box overhaul.
Просмотров 5692 месяца назад
More progress with the Escort RS Turbo restoration.Although the gear box appeared in good condition mechanically, its was covered in years of dirt and oil. Having never rebuilt a gearbox before, I assumed it was going to be a challange and it was, but one I enjoyed. The gear selector and pedal box also received an overhaul.
MK3 Rs Turbo Series One Restoration. Dashboard repair and the final bit of painting finished.
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 месяца назад
I've been looking for a good passenger door for a while now and finally find one, so time to get it painted. The dashboard (as with most MK3 dashboards) was really badly cracked and warped, so I've had a go a repairing that. The paint I use is from htsupplies.co.uk/products/innotec-repaplast-medium-grey-colour-finish-500ml and seams to be a good match for all the interior trim.
Escort RS Turbo Restoration, the final parts of the body kit painted. Bumpers and grill done!

I finally get the last pieces of the body kit and bumpers painted, it's crazy the amount of time you spend prepping these parts. I'm pretty happy with the outcome to say they are just painted in the garage.
RS Turbo Restoration! Back to bodywork, finally one door done!!
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Finally made a start on getting the doors painted, I was lucky to find a rust free door, just a shame it wasn't straight. A lot of sanding and prepping. painting inside your garage at home isn't easy but you can achieve good results. In between the coats of paint I also make a start on restoring the bumpers.
I got wheelly wheelly close to getting a wheel on, didn't quite work out as planned.

My ongoing restoration of my Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1. I finally get the other side of the bodykit fitter and rebuild the brakes using ST170 brake discs and Mondeo MK3 calipers
Ford Escort RS Turbo Series One restoration..... where it's at and what's next!
Просмотров 10 тыс.6 месяцев назад
I bought this car in 2020, and it was in a very sorry state. I've slowly been putting it back together. Everything that's been done on this car is by me and I'm completely self taught so be kind, I kind of make it up as I go along. Everything has been done in my garage, and yeah the paint isn't amazing but for now it only cost me a few hundred pound, so worse case in a few years I'll get someon...

Fair play mate, it's Not an easy thing to get Right, and if you Don't it will look Horrendous. I've been doing it a few years Now. Did a MK2 Escort a few years ago Now. Every one that came in and looked at it, made the Normal comment for someone that will never be able to do this of,is it worth it. 18 months later there was an immaculate MK2 in Blue sat in front of them. The Comment was, well it Obviously was worth it then.
