    It seems that Yona/Jonah is the same as Noah. Ninv[e] is Farsi word " نانوا - nanva " which means Baker [of bread]. Noah could be the same as Ninve or is " نادان - nadan " which means foolish, unwise and ignorant. Noah did not want to leave the seasonally flooded land, he built a wooden platform with few animals [in pairs] for food source, another word he wanted to stay and keep his land while it was flooded and feed mainly on milk, eggs and fish only, but no land means no Wheat and Bread. More likely Noah's platform fell apart or was washed to the sea in pieces. At that time communities were doing the farming as a coop and for their communities' consumption (like Yedish), therefore communities were created on and around the farming lands. It seems that the story of the Egyptians famine and disaster in Jewish text was an unexpected storm and flooding which destroyed their food source perhaps for the lack of planning and water system/channels to extend the farming inland and safe from flooding.

    This sermon is misleading and you are not calling out the sin. Yes God is an inclusive God who wants to SANCTIFY you from your broken nature!! You cannot serve two masters Jesus and your sin. You are literally taking the scriptures to fit your own agenda! It’s not about us, it’s about him! It’s the sanctification we receive from from. Sanctification does not mean you get to live with that sin. For sinful people like us the gospel is offensive but that is a good thing because when we realize how wretched our sinful nature really is then you realize the value of the gospel. Repent pastor because the judgement of God for people who is misleading the church will be great

    Thanks for this beautiful message of community and caring. I think one important thing about this message and this scripture is that Jesus Christ says, "Why are you bothering this woman? The poor will always be with you, but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for my burial. " In essence, Christ knows he will be crucified and will not be in bodily form on this earth as he was then. We should cherish, love, honor and respect him, because he will soon sacrifice everything for all the people of the world. There will always be rich, poor, men, women, children, etc... but his life as they know him will soon be finished as he is crucified as prophesied. All throughout the Bible it is about loving and caring for others and God. In this scripture he is making a statement that the poor will always be here but honor this moment with Christ because he will not be. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts, and yes let us care for each other in his name and the sacrifice he made for us. Thank God that he is still with us in spirit, and so much more. Amen

    i rarely listen to people who've never been chronically homeless, talk about homelessness. kevin is one of those exceptions. i grew up in an extremely abusive environment which meant housing security wasn't my thing. as an adult i had to voluntarily go to a homeless shelter with my two young kids because protecting them from my mom meant going no contact with my entire family, who were all of my housing options. my kids entire childhoods were homeless, homeless adjacent or extremely housing insecure. everything laid down in this sermon was correct. the ideas were especially valuable as foundational ingredients; necessary but not only i would add one thing. urgency. the church (big c) never wants to tackle homelessness with urgency. it's one of those things that christian's are more than happy to ignore and let god fix in the next life. eternity is the perfect excuse for inaction. imagine showing up to an emergency room in clear need of blood products and being told not to worry, what god doesn't provide in this life, he'll make up for in the next as you're ushered out the door. the homeless should be housed with all of the same care and timeliness that each of you want from your medical teams. thank you again, kevin. brilliant, brilliant, words.

I was curious about how you understand the implication of death in the Isaiah passage that you brought up, since saying that if someone dies before seeing 100 years that they'd be considered accursed implies the presence of death. A lukewarm church with false teachers which practice unbiblical practices: 1 Corinthians 14:33-35 KJV For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. [34] Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

    Letters or notes I write to my family and friends are directed to them. Even though my Happy Birthday north or advice I give one could be used to send a message to someone else. However if address a concern you can bet it is for who I address the letter. Just my take

  • @joktanephraim
    @joktanephraim 5 месяцев назад

    Hi Zach, about these 7 letters, in a scroll written to those living in the end times, why would we think that John was writing to them with information (only?) for his generation? Also why do we think that each letter is addressed to the "Angel" of the church?

    • @RestoreATX
      @RestoreATX 5 месяцев назад

      From Zach: "As I said in the message, these letters aren't only for the original 7 churches. We have a lot to learn from them too as have churches throughout the last 2000 years. This isn't only true of Revelation, but of other New Testament letters like Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, etc. The "angel" term is "ἄγγελος" in the Greek and it means messenger. Angels are messengers of God and these "angels" of the churches are messengers tasked with delivering these letters. It's the same Greek word we get the term "evangelist" from which means messengers of the Good News. These messengers probably weren't spiritual creatures, but real people who received and then delivered these letters to the churches."

    • @joktanephraim
      @joktanephraim 5 месяцев назад

      @@RestoreATX Thank you and Zach for the reply! Yes indeed there is much to learn for everyone along the timeline and agreed, there is much prophetic work among the epistles and gospels. I do believe that these 7 letters will have clear meaning to those in the final hour. About the Angels, I believe that Father appoints Holy Angels to safeguard churches, that these are among the ones of Hebrews 13:2 - like Yeshua, they have the vessel of a man but filled with an Angelic Spirit. As John was dictating from Yeshua, these messages are likely to these Angels in the Holy War at the end times. I know Zach is troubled with the toxic Christians and he's not alone. One of my pastors here in Atlanta is actively trying to quell the Christian Pharisees - I also am called to this task. I wanted to share what I believe is the core issue: we have mixed the covenants, dividing ourselves between Moses and Yeshua. It is the prideful of us that seek to rule over others and the list of rules is nothing but ammunition for them. Yeshua knew that about them, that they abused the rules, and He takes them all away with His One Law as He took away sin for the whole world. We really do need to, um, "un-follow" :) the Old Testament, but more specifically, "repent " from following the Law of Moses. Truly the ones (gentiles) who judge and persecute sinners of the Mosaic Law are anti-christ, as judging and persecution is the way of the enemy. I am calling these anti-christians, they profess Christ but follow Moses and the law that belongs to Israel alone.
