Ive never noticed old people have a scent. However, sick people do and if anyone is on strong medication, they have a scent. It doesn't matter how much they wash themselves or clothes and bedding.

It is backed up poop. Most “older” people have poop compacted against their colon. I tested this on my 86 yo neighbor. I increased the vegetables in his diet and gave him kefir to drink one a day. After 6 months, his colon and all the impacted poop is clear, and he smells neutral.
