Knowing math is a lot more than being able to solve equations all day long. Can you properly visualize the math you're doing? Here I use Desmos to help with that! Think of this as a little tutoring session on how you can connect the math you do on paper to the math that happens in the math world! :) Link to Practice SAT #1: satsuite.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/sat-practice-test-1.pdf

my only problem is that the combinations is inflated... it would be a marvel to see only a 5 pin (the middle of the triangle) fall down... the only physical way to do it is maybe throwing the ball in such a way that it flies over the first three pins, hit's the 5 pin (the middle pin) and some how bouncing over the back 4 pins? it's just impossible... at a bowling alley, with a bowling ball.. physically speaking. all your combinations need to involve hitting a pin on the side of the triangle, and depending on angular momentum the pins can fall left right forward and backward.. and that is the real physics of bowling. if you want to dive even deeper, the angular momentum can change depending on your positive axis point, the surface material of your ball, the angle of the approach and of course the amount of oil/ pattern of oil on the lane.

To the problem at minute 1:19:19 there is an easier solution, although you said no, the easiest solution being to graph the function y=-(x-p)(x-2), and put the point (1,k), and then try to plug in values for p and k, until the parabola gases the vertex at (1, k). I've tried it and it's much faster that way.
