Hey everyone! Steve here at SKS Props but this is my second channel! As an artist there are all kinds of projects I like to work on behind the scenes that aren't Cosplay related. Some of those projects include 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, Building Models and Painting Miniatures!
Painting Trench Crusade Mechanized Heavy Infantry - New Antioch Grimdark Rust Tutorial
In this video I show my process of painting a Mechanized Heavy Infantry Miniature from Trench Crusade. This miniature was printed using an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra and painted with a variety of Pro Acryl paints and brushes from Monument Hobbies. This is showing the grimdark style the lore is known for. In addition to the acrylics I added some weathering Rust effects from the Goblins Hut Dirty Down range. I was also able to kitbash some additional parts to make my unit looks a little more unique by adding an antenna and chains. This is my first miniature painting step by step and I would love to hear some feedback in the comments.

How to Safely Detail Clean 3D Resin Prints - Cleaning Trench Crusade Miniatures - Saturn Ultra 4
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.День назад
In this video I show my steps for safely detail cleaning my resin 3d prints. 3D printers are awesome especially resin printers but the uncured liquid resin is not good for you to breath in or get on exposed skin. In my multi step process I used several baths of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to stage clean my miniatures. This eleminates trapped resin in small areas and bits of uncured resin being left o...

How to Make Modular Trenches and Terrain for a Giant Trench Crusade Game Board. In this Part 2 video I continue to add additional details and textures to the trenches and terrain. Using a mixture of materials and techniques these trenches really start to come to life. These trenches are all hand made using insulation foam, corrugated paper, coffee stir sticks, and skewers. But once they are pai...

In this video I'll show how to create an awesome concrete texture for your 3D prints and terrain. These pieces are for the giant Trench Crusade modular terrain game board I am creating and I wanted some concrete to break up the mud. This process is extremely easy to follow and can be achieved in just minutes to amazing results. You don't even have to sand your 3D print these textures are applie...
How to Make Trench Crusade Modular Trenches and Terrain also Great for Warhammer 40K

In this video I start the process of crafting a Giant Trench Crusade Game board including multiple modular Trench and Terrain pieces. These trenches are all hand made using insulation foam, corrugated paper, coffee stir sticks, and skewers. But once they are painted and weathered they will look right at home in any skirmish war game. Even though I did create this board specifically for Trench C...

Hey everyone I am excited to announce that I am launching a second RUclips Channel SKS Hobby Workshop! As an artist I have lots of things I like to craft behind the scenes that are not costume related. This second channel will go over those builds, like miniature painting, model building, and 3D prininting. So if those are activities that you are intrested in please sub my new channel for addit...
Hyped for you! I’m working on mine right now… your channel is everything I’m tinkering with right now. so sick ! I am binging into all the Lore. I came across trench crusade about a week ago and I am so in.subbed⚔️😎
You got a heap of painting to do, Sir! Looking amazing!
🙌 I think I’m gonna batch paint most of these to get them on the board quick
I wasn't planning a new Necromunda table this year.. but now I am. 🙄
Awesome! and I have to look into necromunda at some point 👍
Very dynamic paint job 😊😊😊
Thank you very much!
@ you are welcome 🤗
Thanks for the tutorial. It never occurred to me to use wire seals for barbed wire. I had a bunch of seals just sitting around so you just saved me a some money and cleared out my junk drawer.
You're welcome!
O wanted to start konda doing this. I was maknly wondering if theres a decent market for it and how saturated that market is
If you're just starting to make money proobably not a good idea. If you're starting for fun then just jump in
donde puedo descargar el modelo 3D de la figura
On my mini factory just search Trench Crusade
Now that's nice! Hell yeah bro
I'd like to get my hands on some Trench Crusade models, I have an idea kitbashing my own feudal world Traitor Guard army if I ever get the chance to
That Sin Eater is so sick! 😅 can't wait to get my models
Just when I think you can’t out do yourself and blow me away again, boom, you do. That is amazing, I’m not what you would if it were for competition.
Thank you very much!! Competition wise I would stipple the hell out of it and make the transitions super smooth. But he's probably gonna get knocked around my Trench Crusade table so I opted not to 😅
@ man, it still looks awesome!
this table goes hard
🙌🙌
Really nice video. You do a really good job describing not only WHAT you're doing, but also WHY you are doing it.
Thank you very much! Glad you liked the video 👍
this is wonderful! I had no idea you messed around with terrain stuff also. I'm subbed to a lot of terrain building channels. What's next custom action figures?? we can hit all my hobbies Haha
@@josray2557 actually I started making my own art figures right before I got into cosplay 13 years ago 😂 and yes I have some additional ideas in the works for that 👍
@SKSHobbyWorkshop no fkn way LoL well I imagine they're prob pretty kewl.
Those guys are iconic I definitely need some to add to my list of stuff I need to get done .
🙌🙌
Great job, my man 👍🏻
Thank you! 🙌
I plan to add half of a corpse to one of the craters when I get around to making terrain for Trench Crusade.
I printed off a bunch of skulls, chests, and bones that can be scattered around but didn't want them fixed in place so that the terrain was still modular 👍
Really happy to see you demonstrate your love of miniatures, Steve! I know you said way back that you did a lot of mini painting in college, and you definitely worked wonders on this Mechanized Heavy Infantry mini. Those Dirty Down effects are fantastic pops of color and interest. I noticed you started out pretty similar to how you painted your Fallout 4 Combat Armor(Red Oxide base, Flat Camo Green, a layer of lighter green with a mop brush, etc.). Do you think all of the years of painting props and costumes has had an influence on your method, or were you always painting to this effect on miniatures?
Thank you very much! and yeah I figure it was the other way around all of my years in art school and mini painting back in the day transffered easily to the prop and costumes back in 2012. A lot of those old methods/techniques were mini related from warhammer, reaper, and ral partha figures a loooong time ago.
Awesome video
Thank you very much!
The little dud looks great. This is a fun project.
Thank you very much! 🙌🙌
Very nice!
Thank you!
I find sometimes using a bloop of the same print resin and using a UV flashlight in the right wavelength works well on prints over superglue sometimes since it likes to bond with itself.
I haven’t used it for glue, but I definitely use resin as a gap filler 👍
Holy snap, Steve! The detail is incredible. Now just do that about 500 more times and your army will be ready to conquer!
😂🙌 luckily warbands in this game are fairly small….but I still do need to paint my Warhammer tomb kings army
So fantastic to see you branching out into a new field! I am a huge prop enthusiast and also a fan of the diorama/ miniature sculpting world
Thank you very much! Yeah this is honestly what I needed to reset some of my artistic drive. Don’t get me wrong I like props/costumes but I’ve alway loved model building and miniatures years painting 👍
That's a crazy good paintjob and effects. Especially as you were going for "tabletop" standard! I could easily see with just a little bit of more pushing the highlights this being a competition piece!
Thank you very much! Yeah I’m probably past my competitive days in art just for fun now 🙌
@SKSHobbyWorkshop Totally understand that! Very good technique and execution, I usually lack the patience to push my paint jobs up to this high standards. But this definitely serves as an inspiration 👍
Fantastic tutorial with clear, concise, simple instructions. And the mini looks amazing from 3" away, let alone 3'.
Thank you! First mini painting in a loooong time so I was feeling rusty in the beginning 👍
Love seeing all the use of the Monument Transparent paints!!
I tell you what with a little glaze medium you can get some cool effects 👍
Smashed it 🙌🏻
Thank you! 🙌🙌
Outstanding!
Thanks man! I felt a bit rusty 😂🙌
I like that you mentioned upscaling the model, this model isnt as problematic but theres models that are very fragile and spindly such as the sniper priests sniper rifle and the Stigmatic Nuns Axe/Mace Shafts. Ive been considering upscaling all the models by 114% to convert to a 32mm scale instead of 28mm. Excellent Video!
Thank you very much! Yeah I upped all of the mechs and a few of the more important characters 👍
Yeeeeeesss!
Glad you like it Phil! 😂🙌🙌

This gotme to subscribe!
Awesome! Welcome to the channel, lots more on the way 👍
Your game board looks sick! I would LOVE to destroy the believers there!
Your playlist is running backwards.
Not if you look at it in reverse order 😂
Sick
Thanks! 🙌
Continuing to appreciate these tutorials. Thank you for your clear instruction and demonstration of these techniques!
You’re welcome! Glad I have the opportunity to share with the community
This is a very cool project! Thank you for showing your techniques and process in building this.
Thank you and you’re welcome! More on the way 👍
Are you upscaling them? I'm finding they seem small and fragile and they look huge in your hands
@@Scotty86doo no I’m keeping them at regular scale except for one of the mechs. Sin eater is just a big model
@SKSHobbyWorkshop OK my stigmatized nuns just seemed overly fragile so I was worried thanks for the info
Rip to the army of fairies massacred for their skulls. 😔
