Lemons to lemonade. I can’t salvage what I made but I can 1) learn from it and 2) maybe make a good video to show you what not to do

God I wish the fog machine came in on time. I’ve got about ten days left and this couldn’t wait, so yeah I’m disappointed but this video shows in good detail just how well it worked out. My biggest piece to date, and definitely not the biggest I’ll ever go. There’s only bigger and more complex from here. Except Part 7. That went backwards.

The next EVA foam prop on the list is my interpretation of a Call of Duty (Mobile) sidearm. I say interpretation as in some areas the detail increased and in others it decreased, it was just a matter of what needed more camouflage for the electronics really

After the last foam blaster I wanted to see what I could do in terms of precision and detail, so this piece came about. But I was thirsty for more light effects… leading to part five

First EVA foam piece I made and I got a taste of putting lights together as well. I know the shading portion isn’t perfect but hey it’s better than where it started with just thin Sharpie

The second Nerf gun I modded and waaaay more extensively. This one nearly ended up in the trash it was so frustrating but once I figured out how to get the Frankensteined pieces together it was smooth sailing.

Bringing my content fully over to RUclips means a lot of projects shouldn’t disappear into the ether. I’ll be revisiting seven prop guns and explain just what went through each one’s unique building experience. Now I just need to shoot it and edit it and post it. Easy.

I had no idea if this was going to work so I have 0 progress pics… but it’s working! Now I need to see about getting the pieces at equal sizes and making sure they fit right. The idea right now is this will become a sort of futuristic assassin-like costume. This portion is serving as the base for the torso, as there’ll be likely a lot built on top of it

This is what happens when you rush to make a video and it’s too hot out, your workspace is in an uninsulated garage, you put together and try to steam a cloth backdrop, wear a tee shirt instead of your usual tank, and don’t realize the addition of the backdrop throws off the iPad camera’s focus. I made the gas mask and was about to move onto the top. Then I realized my hair would tuft up and look stupid with the gas mask straps. Ok, cover the hair. How? Making a shirt, shirts have hoods sometimes. Great, what use? Leather would be cool. Leather *would* be cool. Ok, leather. And now we’re at the point of more leather, more problems.

Originally this video had a whole commentary, but leaving more of the story to the viewer’s imagination is more fun. This was my first test with running continuous music all the way through a long video so let me know how I did.
