Tool for removing overtightened adapters and/or filters
If you often find yourself struggling to remove overtightened and/or stuck adapters, you are not alone! Today I was swapping my camera to WO RedCat 91 for a first light session and could not get the filter in front of the camera off. Usually the biggest problems is that adapters and/or filters are only a few mm wide, so it is very hard to grip. So thats why I 3D printed a custom lever tool with compression bolt so you can get a good grip on the surface of the filter.
You can also check it out in our shop and order the required diameter: shop.deepskydad.com/product/tool-for-removing-overtightened-adapters-and-or-filters/

    • @DeepSkyDad
      @DeepSkyDad Месяц назад

      Yes, the sail effect could cause some tracking issues. I personally do not image if there is any wind, because that usually means bad seeing and tracking problems regardless of flat panel.

    Would there be any way to get that flat panel to rotate 90 degrees after opening so it can lay flat against the telescope? The way it is I'd be afraid a large wind gust would just rip it right off the telescope.

    • @DeepSkyDad
      @DeepSkyDad Месяц назад

      The standard FP2, opens the way you describe (and is tucked away against the telescope tube). The idea of this solution is to move only sideways, so no extra space is required in the front or the back of the panel. I think the wind gusts would have to be quite significant to rip the panel off (so in my opinion, imaging in such conditions would not make sense anyway :))
