Around the time mgsV Grey Fox was trying to live a normal life with a figure skater he was in love with. But again there's a lot of shit that was either cut out of the game due to investor wanting it to be finally released which is evident with the unfinished/ missing chapters we have in the game which probably just made kojima wanting this done and over with so he can quit which I believe why the "player" is venom snake. I use to beat myself up about it but I also remember that the whole venom snake is actually big boss in Metal Gear doesn't add up either, "Big Boss" in outer heaven was killed by solid snake with a rocket launcher that's why in Metal Gear 2 Big Boss was a cyborg so... If venom died in outer heaven by basically getting blown to pieces why is Big Boss missing limbs in Metal Gear 2? And if your gonna say that's venom snake anyway okay fine but who did we meet in Mgs4? Big boss up and walking around because he even stayed The Patriots recovered the remains of liquid and solidus to basically harvest what the need to put Big Boss back together so is that venom too? Feels cheap, cop out and unbelievable. If you want my source for why I strongly believe it was grey fox look up all Null scenes in Portable Ops. ( No it was not made by kojima but he approved of all of it and how many times has he done that for this series? I believe only one time) Null is the perfect assassin/killing machine that under goes memory wipes after his mission is completed which when big boss fought him he was extremely impressed by his speed and skill and had to put a lot of effort into taking down which a few years ago before that he had to fight and kill The Boss so to me that's saying alot. Which would make perfect sense for the "reflex mode" that's obviously a Boss, Big Boss, Grey Fox characteristic, you move so fast it seems like time is slowing down. So what's more believable? Venom snake is actually grey fox that was trying to be a paramedic to save people's lives instead of taking them ( trying to find himself like at the beginning of this comment ) gets basically over ran by XOF and blown up by saving Big Boss from the blast which would require some speed to do in the first place, and big boss has to make a tough call by brain washing him into thinking he was actually big boss which grey fox is already proven to get totally memory wipes and brain washing successfully? And that's why Venom Snake is so believe to be big boss in terms of combat skill? Which by the way Grey Fox was THE ONLY member to achieve the rank of Fox? ( Yes I know Big Boss is much higher btw but none the less) Or some random fuckin dude.

Maybe Although i would prefer the BOSS during WW2 meeting the Cobra Unit and HOW she became the BOSS up until she meets John and have the game end there That would have more impact onto the players then you think Meeting the Sorrow, how Adamaska Salashaska was born, well not necessarily need to watch that sex scene LMAO But how the Philosophers snatched her baby away from her

You obviously don't understand his character. He wasn't a hero. He was someone who committed horrendous war crimes, and wanted to try to attone for his sins.

​He was never a war criminal. The only war crimes he ever committed was taking out the Portuguese colonial troops with a combat knife as a child during Mozambique's war of independence. After that he was subjected to human experimentation and became a prototype cyborg ninja during mgs portable ops. Then an actual cyborg ninja before the events of mgs1. His life had episodes of suffering and he wanted it to end having given up wanting to live.
