Perry Como is a great singer and Fats Domino is a great stylist . However , for me , the highlight of the show was when Jo Stafford sang the medley of folk songs so beautifully with Mr C playing the guitar . Jo Stafford is a beautiful woman and looks very capable of doing slapstick comedy like Judy Holliday . Does anyone know if Jo Stafford ever did any comedy , you know , like Connie Francis falling on her rear end in her movie ' Looking For Love '

The camera loved Perry Como. He had natural warnth and charm. He was the real deal. Way ahead of anything in England. By comparison, we had Billy Cotton and Val Doonican.

This very emotional song has been a favorite of mine since I first listened to it in 1963. I was pinned to a wonderful girl from Bowden, Ga. a small town a few miles from the Alabama state line. When Spring Quarter ended, I had to work on a cross country pipeline in south western Mississippi. We were apart all summer. When college started in the fall, I headed back to Ga. and I must have sung this song a hundred times on the drive back to school. She was waiting, but by the end of the following summer she was in the arms of another. No one sings this song better than Perry Como and each time I hear it, memories come flooding back of that girl and that time 60 years ago.

I’ve always preferred Bridge over Troubled Waters the original version, until I learned Perry Como’ version.. wooow! So much great qualities. A beautiful human, he sure is. He’ll always be remembered. An awesome show. Thank you for posting. I’m appreciated.
