I’ve been dreading this job, removing the original lime plaster from the walls to make way for the wood fibre insulation. The dread isn’t due to it being a hard dirty job but because it means stripping layers of the Coach House’s history: the honest uneven plaster, the old lead paint adorned with 80’s graffiti in the form of name tags and love memos.
It’s a job that needed doing, now it’s been done journalistically, a clean slate has been revealed; adorned with the possibilities of a new chapter for Round Corner.
