Lower Lora (Norway 2024)
My first time on the lower Lora in the Dombås region in Norway (MW, Jori gauge at 22m3). The river flows in a scenic gorge with many undercut walls in a pool-drop-fashion. There is a class V-ish waterfall we had to portage close to the end of that section. A very worthwile river section...

For the first time in Norway! The lower Jori (22 m3) in the Dombås area offers some sporty class IV whitewater. Starting in a scenic lake, the water volume rises due to some confluences more and more and get's a little pushier. Upper Ticino 2024

On our way back from Valsesia, the water level seemed reasonable to run the upper Ticino above Airolo in Switzerland. Despite the two avalanches and some portages due to trees, this is really a fun and worthwile section to paddle. The alpin sprint on the Sesia river just above Mollia (Valsesia, Piemont, Italy). We just arrived that day and were really keen on doing our personal first descents on that section. A sporty section roughly class IVish - we had a gauge below medium water. 56 cm, June 2024.

Paddling on the Gronda-Creek in Valsesia, Piemont, Italy. We had some fun times on the lower part of the river. The water could have been a little higher, as I got stuck in the middle of a small drop. Thanks to the guides of ARC. May 2024, low water.

Über Ostern ging's in Richtung Genfersee. Ich wollte schon lange die Bäche im Genfer-Jura erkunden. Für die Semine hatte es gerade noch genüngend Wasser. Ein toller Flussabschnitt mit den "marmites géants" - den grossen Steinpools am Anfang und einem riesigen Siphon ungefähr in der Mitte des Abschnittes. Das Ganze zudem im speziellen Jura-Wald mit moosbewachsenen Bäumen... Ein toller WW III-IV ...

Some rain and foggy, cloudy weather - perfect conditions to paddle the Alb river in the black forest, very close to the Swiss border. However, the main reason I'm writing is because I'd like to ask where you bought your Gnarvana. I'm desperately trying to buy one and it seems impossible in Europe. Ev. sind wir mal wieder da... ist ein relativ kurzes Stück. Und wenn's Holz hat, wird's mühsam.
EIn Paddler aus der Gruppe hat aber auch (fast) jedes Kehrwasser so besetzt, dass man auf ihn drauffahren musste, um einzuschwingen. Leider gibt es solche Egomanen oft, die keinen Platz machen --> der mit dem schwarzen Helm 😡 bei 2:01 u.v.a. Stellen auch)! Ansonsten schöner Film, danke für's Mitnehmen, Henry

Is a really nice section with some great boofs. One of my faves. We did early June.. shame about the tree at bottom.of the little gorge.. and the landslides..we got in at army camp and finish at airolo before the dam..

Nice river Can I ask you what settings do you use on your GoPro. Quality of all your videos are amazing 4K or 5.3K Frame rate 120? EV 0 ? Lens ? My video never get that quality after transfer to YT
Hey there, I record in 4K or 2.7K... higher bitrate, 60fps. I do some postprocessing though... Linear view, EV 0, standard gopro lens. Cheers Andri
But if I record in 2.7K, I export in 4K nevertheless.

@@andrischuetz richtig nice! So einen technischen Fluss mit dem Gefälle und Naturerlebnis bin ich vorher noch nicht gefahren. Aber im zweiten Run am Nachmittag waren wir zu schnell und schon zu kaputt. Deshalb leider an der Hand verletzt beim Aussteigen:/ Für den Bach muss man echt fit sein. Der wird definitiv nochmal gepaddelt.

Herrlich so schön nur sag bitte warum ist der Fluss manchmal türkis und manchmal bräunlich ? Sonneneinstrahlung?
Hallo Jutta, bräunlich ist entweder Gletscherwasser mit vielen Sedimenten oder Regenwasser mit ausgewaschener Erde oder Sediment. Im Schwarzwald hast du viele (vermodernde) Blattbestandteile die oft eine bräunlichen Wasserton erzeugen. Das türkise Wasser hat man öfters bei weissem Kalkgrundgestein und längeren, regenfreien Perioden...

Naja... wir paddeln halt öfters zusammen - da gibt's einerseits automatisch mehr "Material"; die "Carnage-Rate" hat sich im letzten halben Jahr aber deutlich reduziert!

WW IV mit einigen IV+ Stellen - heisst, die Konsequenzen beim Schwimmen wären nicht so toll. Da ich nicht vorgefahren bin, gibt's auch die Bilder meiner "Vorpaddler"... 🙃

Hey Jutta - ich find's ja auch interessanter zum Zuschauen. Einige meiner Paddelfreunde möchten aber auf einem Bach nicht "vorfahren", dann ist's schwieriger zu realisieren :)
