This comic series is so underrated. I really like issues 9 and 36.

Hey Ryan, new subscriber here. By coincidence I have just started re-reading the entire Sojourn series and stumbled across your channel. Excellent overview of the first few issues. I share your hope that Marvel will add the issues necessary to bring these Crossgen series to satisfying conclusions after all these years. Also share your doubt that they will do it. There are scripts of what would have been the final two issues of Sojourn out there on the web, so they wouldn't need to do much to make it happen.

Just now finding out about The Comics Lounge, Sara Frazetta's channel, and of course, the Taschen Frazetta book. Great interview! I was working on a coffee table book (now published by Fantagraphics Books) for my film 'Teenage Tupelo' at the same time Sara was curating her grandfathers book. The Covid period, for me, allowed incredible focus and I'm glad to see it did for others as well!

I had a crush on Lady Death back m in early 2000’s when I was a kid because I read some of her comics and I couldn’t help how beautiful and stunningly gorgeous she was in every panel in the comics.

Thank you for the awesome review. I totaly loved this one shot and I am super happy about something you said which mirrors how I felt reading this comic. It made me feel like a kid again.

I was reading that comic book at magazine stand in a gas station in Banff Alberta back in 1982 and my high school friend who was with me saw me reading it and ask me if I was going to buy it and I said nah so he grabbed the magazine and bought it. The magazine comic book came out before the movie did and we were surprised when the movie came out because we already had the comic book weeks before they even advertised the movie.

Is this a complete story in one book, or will it be part of a series ?

They took all the sex appeal out of this series. Sara has a manly jawline and and the face of a bulldog and she has pecs that somehow become boobs when she's transformed.

Read all 4 books so far…really like the build up. Ralph was raw, Mikey was silly but still good, Leo defensively dropped some knowledge and Donnie was frail as hell but had the heart of a warrior. Can’t wait for the next issue.

So glad you guys like Rob Liefelds art, so many people try and trash his art ! Rob draws some of my favorite issues and covers!! He exaggerates muscles and outfits, like the "wings" on Wolverines mask are wide along with the points on the boots and shoulder pads, Loved this comic, remember reading it in the 90s

I didn't like the art of Jim Aparo in this one. Specially if it followed that iconic cover by Kelley Jones. It did not flow well, the anatomy looked like it was drawn using toys, really stiff. Some say it was Aparo's age? I don't know. In Detective Comics 664 the art was great.

Id like it better if it wasnt tied to continuity. But for right now, its great. Cause it's focussed on story. But it will be connected with stupid events to the main universe. Ill enjoy it until then. I'd pay extra for any comic book that promised to be self contained and not be connected to any event. Everything by Waid/Mora is great....except Absolute Power. Ugh! What a boring mess of bs.

So stoked Just ordered Vol 1, 2 3 in hard cover. The movie as a kid was so epic

….I think the closest anyone got to capturing the true gratuitous horror and comparative prurient shock value of the E.C. Comics was the early 80’s Pacific Comics run of ‘Twisted Tales’ by Bruce Jones, amongst others. It managed a not so subtle evolution of what Gaines had seeded - turned up to 11! Hell - they even had William F. Nolan pen a story! Anyone else with me on this?

The Longbow Hunter is the definitive Green Arrow run. A must read for any comic book fan.

I made my first video on this book because it was my first comic book ever. I go into detail with that in the video and how influential this comic is to me to this day.
