It is a shame that this isn't a story about something that is actually happening. So many animals are looked down on as stupid, without feelings, emotions, or need for the basics of love, food, water, and shelter. Many are receipents of deliberate cruelty both for the sake of scientific knowledge, through testing, and the sick emotional "joy" that some individuals get from the cries of pain that comes from their abusive actions. The flicker of hope that there is a possibility in the future that mankind will finally learn what Evan and Rusty displayed in this story, love and choice working together can bring about more growth of happiness, closeness and love with "family by choice of animals or people" than currently exists. That is the star barely flickering on the horizon. That is the star we need to work toward and follow.

I am in America!

I'm pleased as punch that the dogs all survived but not surprised by the bear helping them. Nature has a way of protecting those in need and the pups and mother were definitely in need. However, I was disappointed that the woman in this story did not face retribution. I was also upset that she kept appearing in pictures throughout the story, she did not deserve any recognition.

These stories are complete rubbish from beginning to end and such a waste of time,
