Agree strongly that these movies have a "fable" or "tall tale" quality to them which Furiosa leaned into it harder than the previous films - especially with Dementus' fate(s). I still think Fury Road is the better movie but I appreciate that this film did something different, being more about the early politics of the wasteland and its warring factions rather than being a chase movie like Fury Road or Road Warrior were. Also, given the change in casting for the major characters (Furiosa, Immortan Joe) I was surprised how many minor character's actors came back (The Organic Mechanic, Rictus Erectus, The Bullet Farmer, etc.). This was a great big spectacle film to see on the big screen, just like you say, and also great to watch back-to-back with Fury Road straight afterwards. If there are any double features showing out there I highly recommend checking them out.

You really managed to capture this movie's mood in your review. This is one of my favourite black and white movies, one of my favourite social and psychological dramas, one of my favourite stage-to-screen adaptations. Vivien Leigh is perfect in this. Marlon Brando is almost just as good. The story itself is very strong, as tense as you can imagine, and the lighting really contributes to the atmosphere of the plot in this film and also stresses and heightens the relationship between the characters. A Streetcar Named Desire is a great picture through and through.

It's funny that you say that because Marilyn hated the role of Roselyn. She felt the character lacked depth and once again she was playing a ditzy blonde only without the humor. Even so this role shows what she could have been if they had given her a chance. Marilyn and Montgomery stole the movie imo, they were great especially in scenes together.

Marylin Monroe’s, Clark Gables and Montgomery Clift’s Swan Song film. They all gave excellent performances in their last film. And the chemistry was good between them all. As well as Eli Wallach. Basically, all three men were trying to win over Monroe’s affections and win her over. But they were trapping Wild Horses 🐎 which horrified her and made her hate them all. So in the end, Gable gives up on the hunt and relents. He changes his ways and they ride off together. It turns out to be a film filled with regrets and then redemption. It’s well directed by John Houston. And it’s in classic black and white. Old Hollywood the way it used to be with classic stars who could actually act and who millions of people followed and even idolized. Rarely is anything made like this type of film. It’s so real it seems like a documentary almost. A classic Hollywood film I would recommend to anyone. 👏🏻😎

Great review of a truly great film. Murnau was an excellent and varied director (I have all of his available films from Masters of Cinema that cover pre-Nosferatu up to his final film Tabu). Sunrise is, I think, his best film so I'm glad that someone can see it afresh and love it.

It sounds like you've been eating peanuts and occasionally have to clear your throat and swallow. Shane is second to none as westerns go. The setting, with Grand Teton mountains behind, is magnificent. It showcases the conflict between the early ranchers who settled the territory and newcomer homesteaders. The draw scene between Shane and Wilson is one of the finest you'll find in western movies. The music score is brilliant too. Shane is a first-rate movie all the way. A classic among classics.

I had hoped that u would tackle the ending. Does he ride off to die or does he ride off to shoot another day? This question has been debated for decades. Also what kind of crush, if any, did the homesteader’s wife and child have on Shane?

You had 38 “ums” and “ahs” in less than 6 minutes, plus a handful of “you knows”. I suggest that to become a leading RUclipsr that you train yourself to substitute those fillers with a second or two of silence. It will make a whale of a difference. Fillers can be distracting to the listener.
