This job is in my near future. Thank you for the very clear step-by-step description of everything that needs to be done.
@davidvettemiller You are most welcome! I hope this helps you out!! It is rewarding to build your own transmission. Thanks for watching the channel and commenting!! Let me know if you have any questions.
I'm still running an old school Hurst Dual Gate in my 1967 Chevelle.
@jeffallen3382 I have never owned a Hurst. Alot of my buddies in high school had them. My last project truck had a B&M megashifter and I really liked it. We shall see with the pro stick lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@dtperformance256 my buddy had one of those B&M megashifters in his Camaro. He was pulling away from a red light, full throttle and banged the shifter into 2nd... Dust & dirt collected in the gate area and allowed the shifter to go all the way to park. It was a B&M built th400 and it cracked the bell housing & rear housing. Twisted up the driveshaft and spit it out. That car was never the same after that.
@jeffallen3382 awe…man….that sux. I have been shifting this pro stick and it will definitely take some getting used to. That is part of the reason I went with a reverse pattern to at least keep myself from shoving it into neutral on thr highway or at the track. I don’t have enough experience with a 400, but everyone says bad things happen when you put a 400 in neutral at rpm. That is also why I went with an SFI sheild and bellhousing.
@@dtperformance256 He never had a cover for it as the shifter was that way when he bought the car. We believe that is was caused all the dust & dirt to build up and cause it to stick.
I got the notification this time, sweet. But had to wait until I got home. I have the B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet Shifter sitting in my storage that I'll use. I didn't want my shifter to have buttons to accidentally press, lol. Putting min on my Motion Raceworks steering wheel. Thanks for another great video brother. Comming along fantastic.
@yourpcmd Again thanks for the super thanks!!! I am considering switching the handle to a non button for that exact same reason. I traded for this shifter and it was brand new, so I got what I got. I ordered my Grant steering wheel from Motion. At the time, they didn’t have the red centering stripe and as soon as I ordered and dyed my yellow stripe red, they started selling them. I am going to eventually……eventually go transbrake and my button will be on the wheel too. Thanks again for so much support!!!! Send more photos when you get going, I’d like to see your work!
Can I do this set up on just a mild street build with just a shift kit
@andypace4685 That is what I am doing. The bleed hole keeps the centrifugal force of the fluid in the drum from building up and causing the clutches to drag and as long as you have one check ball (either in the drum or the piston) it should work fine. This is my first one, but everyone I spoke with and asked that has did this says it works great actually recommend it for better performance. Thanks for watching and commenting. I have the entire transmission build in the TH400 playlist if you want to see what I am doing. Th400 - 4L80 direct with a TCI full manual reverse valve body with engine braking. Thanks again.
Yet again no notification, this time its probably because I was sleeping, lol. Anyway, thanks brother, made my morning before heading out to work, TGIF.
@yourpcmd TGIF brother!!! THANKS FOR THE SUPER THANKS. I appreciate all the support, the views, and comments! I am planning to get the transmission installed and start on the shifter and trans cooler installation next week. Also the harness. I hope to have this thing running and moveable very shortly. We shall see. Have a good day my friend!!
That's not gusseted. It would have solid tube's welded from front to back at each hole location. Still a nice piece.
@jbransonl96 Yeah I seen that on another rear end too. I think it is a nice part too. It turned out very good. Now if I can just get the rest of the truck back together. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Thanks RUclips for not notifing me of another great video. Being sarcastic about RUclips, not the video. Thanks brother!
@yourpcmd LOL…. RUclips… we all know. As always Thanks For the support my friend and I hope your new shop and build are coming along with tremendous strides. Super thanks very much appreciated!! Let me know how the shirts are wearing! Quality? Comfort? Design or design ideas?!
@@dtperformance256, the shirts are great. I wore the black one to OKC this past weekend for a street race event (a legal race, by the way). A couple of people asked me about it, and I pointed them to your channel. So, Chris or Josh, here you go!
@yourpcmd Great to hear. I ordered the comfort fit. Still testing how they do in the wash. I wish I could get to some races but have been too busy to get away. Thanks for the promotions!!
Very good video. Detailed just right!
@compactorcompaction6539 Thanks and thanks for watching and commenting!!
Nice work DT. I bet your heart sank when that spool wouldn’t move. I know mine did. Glad that got you up and going.
@burgesslane131 Yes it did. One set back after another, but perseverance is the word when working on cars. Thanks for watching and commenting brother!!
Looks good!
@jeffallen3382 Thanks and thanks for watching and commenting!!
Nice job Don. It'll feel real good when you fire it up and the trans works just like you hoped.
@stevea6722 Thanks! Yeah looking forward to seeing all this time and effort come together. Getting close now! Thanks again for watching and commenting!
Bigger rim than 17 or different type of rim
@emozburnes1733 I have been thinking about some 17’s. That would for sure work. I would also like to upgrade brakes later on too. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video on the Blazer bumper install on the S10. Can I get one of your patterns? We are doing the same thing to my son's 93 dime.
I just found your email address and sent you a message, thanks.
@TraceEssex I got it and replied. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a great difference! We got a car with a preexisting window tint that we didn't necessarily want, and backing up is impossible with the factory non led reverse light because they're too dim to penetrate thru the window tint. I'm sure that the dramatic brightness increase will help. But are your backup lights really incandescent? I thought that they would be halogen nowadays but maybe thats just for headlights.
@zzoinks No they were incandescent. The replacements were the LED’s from Oxilam. Check them out! They are super bright for those darker than standard tints!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I feel like these are great ideas for replacement bulbs but something I confuses me is that sometimes they're listed as a compatible replacement for multiple bulb of different voltages, albeit slight differences. And many automotive bulbs use the same base/connection but are not the same voltage, so a bulb is not necessarily correct type just because it fits. And , at least for halogen bulbs, I've read that we are not supposed to substitute bulbs with slight voltage differences. Apparently the voltage difference can damage sensitive car electronics or increased UV radiation would damage plastics inside the light or even melt the bulb sockets. So I'm wondering if these LED bulbs are smart enough not to draw excessive voltage, and are not affected by increased plastic-degrading UV light radiation.
@zzoinks Those are all good points and questions. I’ll have to leave that on to the manufacturer. @OXILAM can you answer the above concerns?
Hello friend, we are happy to try to answer your questions. The following reply is for reference only. Many LED bulbs on the market now have built-in intelligent circuits that automatically adjust the current and voltage to adapt to different input voltages. This means that they can operate within a certain voltage range without being affected by excessive voltage. Most of our bulbs have a voltage range of 9-16V DC, which is suitable for cars and has good compatibility, so there is no need to worry about voltage differences damaging sensitive automotive electronic devices. In addition, LED bulbs usually produce very low ultraviolet radiation, much lower than halogen bulbs. This reduces the risk of damage to plastic parts inside the lamp and also reduces potential effects on human health. LED bulbs mainly emit visible light through light-emitting diodes, rather than generating light by heating the filament like halogen bulbs, so they produce less ultraviolet radiation. However, whether the specific LED bulb is suitable should still be judged according to the situation of your own vehicle. Specific problems are analyzed specifically. Generally, it is universal, but individual cases are not ruled out. Hopefully, the above information can be helpful to you.
Thanks for share ,this is our item ,can i update to amazon listing ?
@yanhua-x7j yes. I will make a follow up review video when I get to that part of the build. Feel free to share! Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Good video bro
@compactorcompaction6539 Thank you sir!!
Yup, I think I'll just ship my transmission to you. JK my friend. Made my Saturday that much better with a new video from you., Thanks, brother!
@yourpcmd appreciate you my friend! THANKS FOR THE SUPER THANKS!! As always thanks for watching and supporting the channel. You might wanna wait and see if thing will work before you ship me your transmission……LOL.
The easiest way to remember which way a seal faces is, the seal lips always face toward the fluid pressure so the pressure forces the lips out to seal the "pressure chamber".
@stevea6722 Right!!! That’s alot easier to remember than some go this way and some go the other way for sure! Thanks for sharing and watching! Any other tips you have are welcome here!!
You'll be ready to rip those burnouts soon my friend. Thank for another informative video brother!
@yourpcmd Fingers crossed!! Much Thanks as always my friend!!
Hi,can you told me the number for the coupling kys 43pfm1032403 I dont found in amazon and ebay, can you can held me with that, maybe it run number, thank you,Alberto from Puerto Rico
If you use VHT paint you have to put your calipers in the oven to cure the paint. The brake fluid will damage both the VHT & the Por15. I find your better off painting them while there on the car. But, I would just use Cerakote. Cerakote is away better product. I find that if you have VHT as your base coat, you can paint cheaper non- high heat rust-oleum enamel over top & add a clear coat afterwards... but once you bleed your brakes.. it's game over & all your work down has to be done over. Also, VHT paint will only last a few months. Where as Cerakote will still look good 4 years later & isn't effect by brake fluid. Good video tutorial though. Cheers!
@timothykydd3959 Great information. Thanks for sharing. When this application wears off I will definitely use your advice and re coat the calipers. 100% thanks for sharing and watching. 100% thanks for commenting, that’s how we all learn!!
Nice to come home to a new video. Thanks my friend.
@yourpcmd Had to follow up on questions I had. Thanks for the Super Thanks and the support. Care package coming soon!!
I'm a believer in Sonnax parts, I don't think you can go wrong with them. Interesting transmission choice, I think I might have gone with the 4L80 or 85 for the overdrive in case I decided I want to drive it on the street some. Definitely going to be watching this build though!
@stevea6722 I have not used Sonnax before but all the parts that I have look to be very good quality. I have the Sonnax forward clutch hub that I am going to install as well. I went back and forth on overdrive and A/C. I may swap later and use this 400 for something else, but it has definitely been a learning experience. Thanks for watching and commenting!!! I appreciate the feedback.
Great video
@compactorcompaction6539 Thanks bro!!
Dude that is so badass.
@BillyFontaineSYB Thanks!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Yay its back! Knowing my luck, I'd cut straight through the thing. Always great to view your videos, my friend. Little by little it's coming along. Looking forward to the next video, as always. Thanks, brother!
@yourpcmd WOW! Thanks for the Super Thanks! This material is not hard at all. Very easy to cut with a hack saw and the pieces broke like glass. I was shocked. Yeah I am chipping away at it piece by piece lol. Thanks again and as always thanks for watching, commenting, and the support you have given to the channel!!!
Hey, that’s a great demonstration! Those Oxilam lights are amazing! I got to look them up. I need those but now I want to see headlights they offer. Thanks for the comparison!
@compactorcompaction6359 Thanks for watching and commenting!! They were brighter but I wanted viewers to weigh as to what they thought before I gave my opinion. They do offer headlights so check’em out!! I hope this video helped you out and you find a set of lights that meet your expectations!!
Be careful answering these companies that want to do business with you... Many channels have been hacked by dealing with these unknown companies. I've personally seen 4 different channels get hacked that way.
@jeffallen3382 thanks for the heads up. I was concerned about things like that. But not really sure what they could do. I was more worried about contractual things. I didn’t think aboutt them hacking my channel.
@@dtperformance256 you're welcome! The ones I've seen have you log into some kind of an app to get their "rewards program" working. That is supposedly how they hack your RUclips account and lock you out.
Hey friend. We understand your concerns. However, please rest assured that we are a legitimate LED bulb company. We are simply reaching out to influencers for product collaboration and reviews. We have strict security measures in place to protect our partners and ensure a safe and reliable business environment. We value the integrity and security of all our collaborations and would never engage in any activities that could compromise the safety of anyone's channels. Thank you for your understanding.

@MayT_Val Awesome! I hope some of the videos on this channel can help you out.
That was a crazy difference at the 25ft mark. Wow. Not even sure my headlights are that bright lol.
@burgesslane131 Yeah it was a much brighter light. Its a white light. The incandescents were yellow. I was surprised how it showed up on the video when I had the LED in the right side and the incandescent in the left. When I zoomed in you could really see it. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
They make a huge difference I thinkI might install them in my S15 project
@davidclark1228 Its a much whiter and brighter light for sure!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
New subscriber,I really like your content..Thanks for sharing tons of information along with part numbers..Very informative..
@BigFun4Life I really appreciate that!! Thanks for the subscription, watching, and commenting!!
Pretty neat trick using a piece of plastic cut in a circle to roll around the piston to work the seal in.
@stevea6722 Yeah it’s a tool called the Lip Wizard. Works well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Not sure I understood when you first started this way back when, that it was going to involve as much as you’re doing. I’ve learned a lot through this. Great job DT!
@burgesslane131 I didn’t know there was as much involved to making videos either. It takes a lot, but is addictive wanting to share information. I wish I was a better videographer and editor…LOL. I have learned alot myself doing this. Thanks for watching, commenting, and the support brother. Much appreciated!!
Brother, just got home from Fort Worth and got another video to watch. Thanks so much, my friend. Getting closer and closer!
@yourpcmd Hope you had a good trip!! You are welcome and yes I am. Baby steps it seems like!! LOL. Thank you so much for the support!! I got something coming to ya soon!!
What tools did you use to remove the S10 bumper
@robbierichmondtyrecop3916 I will be in the shop tomorrow afternoon and check on that and get back to you. I can’t remember right off hand.
@@dtperformance256 thank you. I've gotta take a rear bumper off of a truck Thursday but I'm not really prepared.
@robbierichmondtryecop3916 There are 5 bolts on each side that are 3/4”. Remove those and unplug your tag lights and thats it. That will get the brackets off the frame and the bolts out of the bumper. 3 bolts on the frame each side and 2 in the bumper each side. Hope this helps.
Whats up man, glad to see the build is coming along nicely. I did something similiar to my transmission before I sold everything but it definitely worked👍🏼 I also posted a short video on here of my truck on how it sounded if you want to check it out. @dtperformance256 Sorry to hear but glad you're back to it! One main reason was because of certain situations in my life I had to take care of which sucked but it's all for the better. And no problem, even if I can't drive my truck anymore I know you'll help many others! As for the video it's on my RUclips page, I just uploaded it a few minutes ago 👍🏼

@dtperformance256 but no worries everything is ok! I know your videos will help others who are doing the ls swap as well so keep doing your thing man, awesome work!

@compactorcompaction6539 Yes sir! Thanks for watching!!
Good video. Very detailed! Thanks
@compactorcompaction6539 Thank you sir!!
There's another guy on RUclips that just popped the hinge out with a flathead screwdriver pretty sure it's not big enough to hurt anyone? Then he compresses the spring with a vice then zip ties it together one spring down from top and bottom pops the spring back in compress the door a little bit to hold it then torch the zip ties with a long candle lighter and Bam easy Peezy
@terrywalters5410 wow… that sounds easy enough. My luck isn’t always that great. The spring would probably hit me right in the eye. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Probably want to wear some safety glasses but I'm thinking it would be like a punch from a finger ha ha I'm fixing to do mine I'll message you back from the hospital :-)
@terrywalters5410 exactly….tear off a finger nail…. Let me know how it goes!! Just curious are you re building, building an S10 or just need new door pins?
@@dtperformance256 I have been slowly building my 19 93 chevy S10 extended cab 4.3 L fully loaded one owner grandpa truck for probably 16 years now I picked it up with only 43,000 miles and only has 100,000 it now I paint cars for living and redoing the bedliners now and noticed the top door hinge has finally start to wear out pretty good to make this long I think👍🏼
@terrywalters5410 wow.. that’s a unicorn. Very nice!! I love all the S10’s not just the racing type. I drove one for years when I was a teenager. Swapped a few with 350’s. Just something about them. Yeah they are not a 55 Chevy or anything, but that is just what I like. Good luck with your upgrades and build and thanks again for watching and commenting. Always good to hear from folks and see what they are doing.
You put this out during my bedtime, so it's good to wake up with a new video. Using a drill press as a makeshift lathe was a good idea and I don't think it weakened the shaft since you only took off the "excess". Thanks for another video brother. If you don't mind me asking, when you did your front brake swap, what did it cost you at the junkyard? And did you just disconnect the upper and lower balljoint and tierod and take the whole unit?
@yourpcmd I tried to get it published right after dinner but had issues. I don’t think the shaft was compromised either but wanted to get feedback. Yeah I thought the drill would work better but I think my bolt had a slight bend that caused the shaft to wobble a little. Still turned out great though. The complete front brake assembly was $130 for both sides. Yes, I just disconnected the tie rods, upper and lower ball joint and purchased the complete assembly. Make sure to get the brake line brackets that attach to the frame or you will have tricky brake line angles if you use the first gen brake line brakets. The second gen brake line brackets make routing much easier. Thanks so much for the super thanks support! The views and comments are much appreciated as well!!!
As an update to those wanting these spacers, they are not available in 6mm anymore. You can get 3mm or 5mm now.
@yourpcmd Thanks for sharing my friend!! Many thanks for the views, comments, and the Super Thanks!! Much appreciated brother!!
Don, RockAuto carries Sonnax transmission and driveline parts. Go to the part number search tab and check your part number by manufacturer. Looks like the Sonnax Automatic Transmission Case Bushings 34006-SPB is ~ $6 - 7 cheaper at RA plus you can get a 5% discount on top of the cheaper prices. Not a lot I know but $6 - 7 over time adds up. Good video.
@stevea6722 Yeah I am all about saving money!!! Thanks for sharing this information!! Much appreciated!! Also many thanks for watching and commenting!!
Can’t wait for the wiring video! Oh and where is the speedometer from?
@4xforlife437 Thanks for watching. I am pushing to get my transmission built and installed so I can get the wiring started. The speedometer is a GPS speedometer from amazon. Link below. Again thanks for watching and commenting!! www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B081JN8S8X?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Hey bro, great video. Are you interested in reviewing car LED lighting bulbs? My bio has the business email. Or is there any way to connect you?
@OxilamAffliate thanks for watching and commenting!! I sent you an email and would love to discuss this with you. We can share contact info via email. Again thanks for watching and commenting and I look forward to hearing from you.

Dude you need a BIGGER HAMMER+ never use a balljoint pickle fork. Always hit the spindle area where the balljoint stud goes through the spindle. It will pop right off and no cut balljoint boots
@lovebigbootie69 That usually works for me too, these were getting replaced so I wasn’t concerned with saving them. Thanks for watching and sharing information!!!
For anyone that cannot find this at Orielys - out of stock - Rockatuo has it under a different name, LARES 11472
@yourpcmd Thanks! For some reason I did not get the notification that you had sent a response. Thanks again for sharing!!
@@dtperformance256 anytime brother!
You timed it just right brother. Watching this currently at 36,000 feet on my way back to DFW. Thank you so much for making this daunting flight way better! Makes me want to go with a TH400 instead of my TH350 😛
@yourpcmd I originally had purchased a TH350 to build and changed my mind and went with the TH400. Both are great. I had a TH350 in my last S10 build behind a stock 350. I loved it. Just wanted to try a TH400 cause the word on the street is that they are much stronger. I would have no problem going with a TH350 again. Safe travels brother and as always thanks for watching, commenting, and the super thanks is very very much appreciated!!!
Thanks!
@yourpcmd geez… Thanks brother! Much appreciated!!!
