Only thing I would question is the capacity of the catch can? The other is to protect the line as it looks close to the exhaust below it. Other than that it looks like a good idea!
@jeffallen3382 Yeah I am curious too as to the capacity, but all my years driving with TH350’s I don’t ever remember having one overflow out of the vent tube. This is a little different set up so we will see. I will for sure keep everyone posted. On the line close to the exhaust, I was thinking the same thing that is why I am thinking I will use a 90 degree fitting and route the overflow tube down the dipstick tube. We will see how it works. I think it is going to be ok. As always thanks for watching and commenting!!
@dtperformance256 you're welcome! Truck is coming along nicely!
I went blackheart from their hooker "authorized seller" selected ebsy store, 3x the price of other mimmick listings and similar to web price (i was bundling with pay in 4/paypal) didnt want 5 different charges/ one larger; even at a slight upcharge is easier for me. Cuztomer service was garbage, welds were garbage, threads were junk on trans cooler side, etc. Valuing my time at 100$hr, i put an additional 400 into the darn thing. I think ill try this one on my current build lol
@beasyphone These seem to be ok. I have a lot of parts I can’t test yet because I don’t have it running, but I will keep you posted for sure!!
Ok this is trick! I still may go full k member on my 2000, but IF I DONT! . Now i did similar on my current ZR2 based truck for all but fuel to the rear during a back "half" ( i use quotations as a back half to me is firewall back lol) this is cab-ish back but very cool video, saved for later "break glass in case of" 🎉
@beasyphone Thanks again for watching and commenting. Let me know if you have any questions!
Subbed right off the intro, as a Carolina boy- I relate to down and dirty. This is SChassis #9 and the FIRST that I'm not starting with a truck...just a chassis and building up. Have drive train pieces, have my plans loose but want to expand on notebooks and saved carts. Can't wait to watch this, then the rest of it. I'll also be doing a LOOSE set of videos on mine but not like this "pro" lol. Phone and awkward at best. I was also PLANNING in a full truck rear end and most likely some other stuff. Cool deal, ttyl

Hello, trying to help a friend out he ordered a drum that has a checkbook in it but the drum that came out of the unit has a check in the piston. Can I use it and just put it 180° opposite from one side to the other side.
@frankvottiero8704 I have heard of people running two check balls with no issue. Most people don’t do it. I don’t think it matters how you turn the piston in the drum. If you want one check ball you can order them on Facebook pretty cheap or you could knock the check ball out, tap the hole for a set screw using red loctite and plug the hole. You could also weld the hole up. I have a video showing how to use the set screw method. Thanks for commenting and watching!! ruclips.net/video/_iOKM_-SZ-Y/видео.htmlsi=dNOyEi8wjFJl5twf
Thank you buddy for the information. I like your videos.

But always feel free to reach out to me with any questions. The driver that I used came from Amazon and it is made by Orion Motor Tech. I have included the link below for ease of reference. What are the steam lines from? My factory lines only have the front ports connected. I like that all 4 ports are connected and lay close to the valley cover compared to some of the after-market ones.
@jasongladden4647 My factory heads had the holes for all four steam lines. The tubing you see on top of my valley cover is the factory steam tubing. My engine is a gen 3. Not sure when they changed but some heads have the back ports plugged. The bolt holes are there, but the steam ports are plugged. If you try and remove them it would be best to take the heads off and push the plugs out from the inside of the head to allow you to run all four steam lines. I can send you some photos if you want to email me.
I have an L92 6.2L, which is a 4th gen that I am putting in my 88 S10. It also has all 4 ports in the heads. They just used the front ports and put plugged the back ports. The plugs are just like the front, just no tubing connected to them. I will look at the steam line on my silverado it has an LM7 in it.
@jasongladden4647 you should be able to pick up a stock steam tube assembly just about anywhere. I know alot of people talk about running just the front tubes because engines typically sit in the engine bay with the rear of the engine tilting down. “They” say the air pockets will make their way to the front ports and back into the coolant lines but I am like you, I feel better with all four of them connected.
Good to see you back brother. Life happens, I know. Been away myself as parents lost a house in NC from the hurricane. Having a video from you sure brings a bright side to my days. Thanks my friend.
@yourpcmd Awe man. We will surely keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. I appreciate your support as always and I hope your build is coming along. Thanks again brother and I hope and pray things are moving in the right direction for your parents. Is there a relief organization that is directly dealing with their location that you can share?
@@dtperformance256 they have insurance, but weighing through all the legal stuff is daunting and they are in the waiting process.
@yourpcmd yeah you and I both know from the tornadoes how the insurance process can be.
I've been using that LA Totally Awesome cleaner for years. I actually found out about it from a guy on RUclips who rebuilds RC plane engines for a living. I have a few and I forgot to oil up one engine after the season and it sat with Nitro fuel in it for a long time. This seized it up pretty bad internally with a nasty gunk! Used that LA Totally Awesome cleaner per his recommendation and it freed up the engine AND didn't harm the aluminum like Simple Green can. Plus it's cheap! We use it to clean everything around the house!
@jeffallen3382 I am a believer. As soon as I dropped the valve covers in the pan, the caked on oil started to dissolve. I couldn’t believe it. I’ll be picking up a few more gallons from the DG this afternoon! As always thanks for watching and commenting!
@dtperformance256 you're welcome!
I applaud your creativity and ideas, but I don’t think I like the way it turned out. maybe if you sand it down like you said, it won’t be as aggressive looking. Keep up the work and keep the videos coming. I know I’m late to the party, but I’m doing the same thing to my truck.
@SAO1025RET Thank you. Yeah it is aggressive and I have thought about sanding it down a little to give it a more factory tetire look. Right now with everything going on with the truck, the dash is on the back burner for now…LOL. I appreciate you watching and commenting. I hope these videos help you out.
Great idea for pressing the bushings!
@HardCoreGarage Thanks and thanks for watching and commenting!!
Made in USA and can't even get the manual valve bore correct, LOL
@spurgear I understand it. Companies have issues every once in a while. It is just aggravating when you get to the last few pieces of assembly and fun into these issues. Thanks for watching and commenting!
In dealing with this same thing right now, as soon as I torque the valve body down the piston will not move without a good amount of force.
@Brraaad I had to send mine back for a replacement. It was stuck and I originally thought.. well its tight and when I get the shift linkage on it, I will have some leverege to move it. Not a chance. The new one was so smooth. Man I hate that for you. I know the feeling of getting it so close to being together and then things like this happens. If you have the option to send it back I would. If not I would probably check with a machine shop and see if they can match bore it to the spool. That was my thought at first and then I thought… I paid over $400 this thing should work out of the box. One call to Summit and they made it right immediately. I just had to wait on it to ship. Good luck I hope you get it figured out. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@dtperformance256 thanks for the info! I bought mine from summit too, I will get in touch with them! Thanks!
@@dtperformance256 summit had me see if the valve body would rock without the gaskets on the case, then on a mirror. Told me my case is bad lol
@@Brrraaad wow. If it is in the return period I think they will take it back. I would want to try another one if I was positive my case wasn’t bad. For the money its worth a shot filing a return on it.
@Brraaad Anytime!! I hope this helped you out and you get your transmission put together soon! Again thanks for watching the video and reaching out!!
Fantastic video. I've been putting this off for a while, and you've motivated me to tackle the job. Great, clear, and thorough video. Laying them out all together was super helpful. Thank you!
@jaykramer2092 Glad this helped you out!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
FYI -service manual says " Tighten the bolts to 70 N.m (52 lb ft)." Service manual ASSUMES you're replacing with OEM rubber replacements which are WAY softer. With the Energy Suspension polyurethane ones I just tighten em tight and check again after 2 wks to make sure they're tight. Sheet that came from Energy Suspension says to tighten to 44-55ft. lbs. (standard/extended cab)
@worshipwhilewewait Thanks for sharing!! My Energy Suspension kit instructions only says to tighten to factory spec. I added a little blue loc-tite and went back and torqued to 45 ft lbs. I will definitely be rechecking the torque spec once I have a little drive time on it. I really appreciate the information and thanks again for watching and commenting!!
This is shaping up to be a solid build! Glad to see that alternate belt worked out with the setup
@ICTBilletLLC Thanks and yes it is finally coming together. I am ready for the first drive for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
This job is in my near future. Thank you for the very clear step-by-step description of everything that needs to be done.
@davidvettemiller You are most welcome! I hope this helps you out!! It is rewarding to build your own transmission. Thanks for watching the channel and commenting!! Let me know if you have any questions.
I'm still running an old school Hurst Dual Gate in my 1967 Chevelle.
@jeffallen3382 I have never owned a Hurst. Alot of my buddies in high school had them. My last project truck had a B&M megashifter and I really liked it. We shall see with the pro stick lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@dtperformance256 my buddy had one of those B&M megashifters in his Camaro. He was pulling away from a red light, full throttle and banged the shifter into 2nd... Dust & dirt collected in the gate area and allowed the shifter to go all the way to park. It was a B&M built th400 and it cracked the bell housing & rear housing. Twisted up the driveshaft and spit it out. That car was never the same after that.
@jeffallen3382 awe…man….that sux. I have been shifting this pro stick and it will definitely take some getting used to. That is part of the reason I went with a reverse pattern to at least keep myself from shoving it into neutral on thr highway or at the track. I don’t have enough experience with a 400, but everyone says bad things happen when you put a 400 in neutral at rpm. That is also why I went with an SFI sheild and bellhousing.
@@dtperformance256 He never had a cover for it as the shifter was that way when he bought the car. We believe that is was caused all the dust & dirt to build up and cause it to stick.
I got the notification this time, sweet. But had to wait until I got home. I have the B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet Shifter sitting in my storage that I'll use. I didn't want my shifter to have buttons to accidentally press, lol. Putting min on my Motion Raceworks steering wheel. Thanks for another great video brother. Comming along fantastic.
@yourpcmd Again thanks for the super thanks!!! I am considering switching the handle to a non button for that exact same reason. I traded for this shifter and it was brand new, so I got what I got. I ordered my Grant steering wheel from Motion. At the time, they didn’t have the red centering stripe and as soon as I ordered and dyed my yellow stripe red, they started selling them. I am going to eventually……eventually go transbrake and my button will be on the wheel too. Thanks again for so much support!!!! Send more photos when you get going, I’d like to see your work!
Can I do this set up on just a mild street build with just a shift kit
@andypace4685 That is what I am doing. The bleed hole keeps the centrifugal force of the fluid in the drum from building up and causing the clutches to drag and as long as you have one check ball (either in the drum or the piston) it should work fine. This is my first one, but everyone I spoke with and asked that has did this says it works great actually recommend it for better performance. Thanks for watching and commenting. I have the entire transmission build in the TH400 playlist if you want to see what I am doing. Th400 - 4L80 direct with a TCI full manual reverse valve body with engine braking. Thanks again.
Yet again no notification, this time its probably because I was sleeping, lol. Anyway, thanks brother, made my morning before heading out to work, TGIF.
@yourpcmd TGIF brother!!! THANKS FOR THE SUPER THANKS. I appreciate all the support, the views, and comments! I am planning to get the transmission installed and start on the shifter and trans cooler installation next week. Also the harness. I hope to have this thing running and moveable very shortly. We shall see. Have a good day my friend!!
That's not gusseted. It would have solid tube's welded from front to back at each hole location. Still a nice piece.
@jbransonl96 Yeah I seen that on another rear end too. I think it is a nice part too. It turned out very good. Now if I can just get the rest of the truck back together. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Thanks RUclips for not notifing me of another great video. Being sarcastic about RUclips, not the video. Thanks brother!
@yourpcmd LOL…. RUclips… we all know. As always Thanks For the support my friend and I hope your new shop and build are coming along with tremendous strides. Super thanks very much appreciated!! Let me know how the shirts are wearing! Quality? Comfort? Design or design ideas?!
@@dtperformance256, the shirts are great. I wore the black one to OKC this past weekend for a street race event (a legal race, by the way). A couple of people asked me about it, and I pointed them to your channel. So, Chris or Josh, here you go!

Bigger rim than 17 or different type of rim

Great video on the Blazer bumper install on the S10. Can I get one of your patterns? We are doing the same thing to my son's 93 dime.
I just found your email address and sent you a message, thanks.
@TraceEssex I got it and replied. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What a great difference! We got a car with a preexisting window tint that we didn't necessarily want, and backing up is impossible with the factory non led reverse light because they're too dim to penetrate thru the window tint. I'm sure that the dramatic brightness increase will help. But are your backup lights really incandescent? I thought that they would be halogen nowadays but maybe thats just for headlights.
@zzoinks No they were incandescent. The replacements were the LED’s from Oxilam. Check them out! They are super bright for those darker than standard tints!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I feel like these are great ideas for replacement bulbs but something I confuses me is that sometimes they're listed as a compatible replacement for multiple bulb of different voltages, albeit slight differences. And many automotive bulbs use the same base/connection but are not the same voltage, so a bulb is not necessarily correct type just because it fits. And , at least for halogen bulbs, I've read that we are not supposed to substitute bulbs with slight voltage differences. Apparently the voltage difference can damage sensitive car electronics or increased UV radiation would damage plastics inside the light or even melt the bulb sockets. So I'm wondering if these LED bulbs are smart enough not to draw excessive voltage, and are not affected by increased plastic-degrading UV light radiation.
@zzoinks Those are all good points and questions. I’ll have to leave that on to the manufacturer. @OXILAM can you answer the above concerns?
Hello friend, we are happy to try to answer your questions. The following reply is for reference only. Many LED bulbs on the market now have built-in intelligent circuits that automatically adjust the current and voltage to adapt to different input voltages. This means that they can operate within a certain voltage range without being affected by excessive voltage. Most of our bulbs have a voltage range of 9-16V DC, which is suitable for cars and has good compatibility, so there is no need to worry about voltage differences damaging sensitive automotive electronic devices. In addition, LED bulbs usually produce very low ultraviolet radiation, much lower than halogen bulbs. This reduces the risk of damage to plastic parts inside the lamp and also reduces potential effects on human health. LED bulbs mainly emit visible light through light-emitting diodes, rather than generating light by heating the filament like halogen bulbs, so they produce less ultraviolet radiation. However, whether the specific LED bulb is suitable should still be judged according to the situation of your own vehicle. Specific problems are analyzed specifically. Generally, it is universal, but individual cases are not ruled out. Hopefully, the above information can be helpful to you.

The easiest way to remember which way a seal faces is, the seal lips always face toward the fluid pressure so the pressure forces the lips out to seal the "pressure chamber".
@stevea6722 Right!!! That’s alot easier to remember than some go this way and some go the other way for sure! Thanks for sharing and watching! Any other tips you have are welcome here!!
You'll be ready to rip those burnouts soon my friend. Thank for another informative video brother!
@yourpcmd Fingers crossed!! Much Thanks as always my friend!!
Hi,can you told me the number for the coupling kys 43pfm1032403 I dont found in amazon and ebay, can you can held me with that, maybe it run number, thank you,Alberto from Puerto Rico
If you use VHT paint you have to put your calipers in the oven to cure the paint. The brake fluid will damage both the VHT & the Por15. I find your better off painting them while there on the car. But, I would just use Cerakote. Cerakote is away better product. I find that if you have VHT as your base coat, you can paint cheaper non- high heat rust-oleum enamel over top & add a clear coat afterwards... but once you bleed your brakes.. it's game over & all your work down has to be done over. Also, VHT paint will only last a few months. Where as Cerakote will still look good 4 years later & isn't effect by brake fluid. Good video tutorial though. Cheers!
@timothykydd3959 Great information. Thanks for sharing. When this application wears off I will definitely use your advice and re coat the calipers. 100% thanks for sharing and watching. 100% thanks for commenting, that’s how we all learn!!
Nice to come home to a new video. Thanks my friend.
@yourpcmd Had to follow up on questions I had. Thanks for the Super Thanks and the support. Care package coming soon!!
I'm a believer in Sonnax parts, I don't think you can go wrong with them. Interesting transmission choice, I think I might have gone with the 4L80 or 85 for the overdrive in case I decided I want to drive it on the street some. Definitely going to be watching this build though!
@stevea6722 I have not used Sonnax before but all the parts that I have look to be very good quality. I have the Sonnax forward clutch hub that I am going to install as well. I went back and forth on overdrive and A/C. I may swap later and use this 400 for something else, but it has definitely been a learning experience. Thanks for watching and commenting!!! I appreciate the feedback.
Great video
