This is a story about what worked in 2018. A lot has changed. Not guaranteed that this playbook if followed will bring customers like it did for OpenPhone back in the days. Defining ICP very narrowly is the actual answer to scale from 0 to 100 or 1000.
Fair enough and yes, that's our story from 2018, but I do share about being a lot more precise with ICP as my #1 thing I'd do differently so I do agree with you there. I also share upfront that we're a horizontal product serving many industries and use cases intentionally, so we went into this knowing we'll be building something for multiple personas. Some folks may not want to build a horizontal product and not all of what worked for us would be relevant to them.

Thank you, this was great. Currently at the step 1, trying to get free beta users :d Texting connection sounds great, doesn't that mean you require phone number to sign up though? Did you put it like an optional dialog, where it promises that you are not going to use the phone number for marketing etc?
In our case, since we are building OpenPhone and using OpenPhone, we'd send a text message within our own product to say hi and welcome new users. In your case, you can do several things. Maybe send a welcome text message if folks opt-into SMS. (the opt-in can be a part of the sign up flow). When asking folks to opt-in, you can mention what they're opting into

What about integrating with AI agents to repsond to texts and answer calls?
It may be possible to build an integration with AI in connecting with our API end, though you will want to speak with your developer on this and how it would work. In the meantime, we do have AI suggested texts on how to respond to some incoming messages here: support.openphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/16422146691351-How-to-get-AI-suggested-text-responses

How to enable that? That Contact Status is awesome!!! however I don't see it on my end of the dashboard
Contact Status in this video is a custom property added to the contact's card! When is this feature coming out?
Hi there! The call flow builder (currently in beta) is available on the OpenPhone web and desktop apps. To enable it: 1. Go to Settings > Phone numbers. 2. Select the desired phone number. 3. Under Call flow, click *Try this beta*. 4. Select the sample call flow canvas and click *Edit call flow* to access the builder.

I currently have sideline and will be switching to open phone because sideline only allows you to have 1 number. I'm in 3 different markets and need different area codes with each so that won't work. My question is will the openphone and sideline apps get buggy with each other while I'm waiting for my sideline number to finish porting?

You will only experience downtime if you haven't registered for A2P and intend to send SMS to US numbers. This service is legit crap! Do not port your number to OpenPhone. I had Vonage for over 10 years and the minute I port over. It was hell. There is no live representative to help. You have to do it all on your own. There is no phone numbers for customer service. I currently have an issue that’s causing thousands of dollars in lost revenue and no one has reached out to help me fix the problem. Don’t do it
