I don't love Supernatural, and I think most agree it went downhill fast by the end. But sometimes, they would absolutely nail it. This is one of those times.

The best character in the whole show. The end of supernatural being good was the death of death. It was going downhill for a minute but death’s death was truly the end.

Fun fact: Julian Andrew’s had played death twice. Once here in the show and once again in Percy Jackson as the boatman.

Out of every monster or god, the only thing that makes him scared is death. Because whenever he chooses to, it’s lights out.

I think going into the encounter Dean assumes that Death will act much like the other horsemen, who were just demons given extra powers, and just try to kill him for what was an obvious attempt on his life. I don't think Dean fully appreciated what exactly he was walking into until the scythe returned to Death's side and Death barely acknowledging him. Being told you're going to face Death and actually facing Death are two different things entirely.

He is one of the best actors in the show. They should have never gotten rid of this version of Death.

Not criticizing the show but what is it about death thats so scary to dean? Why isnt he afraid of amara? Lucifer? Death didnt even act on dean violently. Never even touched him

It's like in the book "Inkheart" where the author says there's always a few details about the characters that never make it into the books themselves. (I'd say more, but it'd be spoilers. I may have already said too much.)

Insane that they threw away a character this incredible in such a nonchalant way.

Im so glad this is how i remember Death once i stopped watching after season 5 he gave off the perfect tone of ancient and threatening i have heard and seen some clips of what happens to death in the later seasons and ill just say everything after season 5 is just non canon

And about 15 years later, in the year 2024 of the lord, this series didn't lose any of its greatness. Hopefully Castiel will be sent to us once again to save us all from those who pretend to act in our interests. Dark days.
