This place is worth visiting
Beautiful. So civilized. Naturally the end of the Western Roman Empire came with the defeat of it's armies by the barbarian hordes, most obvious of which was the huns under the rule of atilla. When the final sacking of Rome occured and Romans were no longer in power of the empire, the barbarian kings split the spoils of war.
The question is whether primarily internal factors (e.g. structural problems, alleged decadence, religious and social upheavals, civil wars) or pressure from external aggressors (mass migration, Germans, Huns, Persians) are responsible for the decline of the empire .
Was always a shithole. The earthquake made it a better place

I was there in 1977 as an LT US Army on the front line of freedom. Still beautiful but in 79 many of the original ruins were still visible on the back side. Truly a beautiful part of Germany in the Taunas mountains. Weilburg Limburg Wetzlar mountains. ❤❤

The hike is usually safe as long as you stay on the trails. Above all, the white spots are dangerous. The earth's crust is thin there, you can cave in and burn yourself. This is the case around the Emerald Lakes. And most importantly, check with locals and officials locally as the situation with active volcanoes can change. Te Maari erupted in 2012 the old Ketetehai Shelter was damaged during the 2012 volcanic eruption at Te Maari craters.

You need to be there at a weekday, off season (end of September) and early enough to stay in front of the school classes😁. 10 minutes later about 100 pupils arrived.
