I hadn't seen this video before. All of your programming videos have been a great help. I think flying the Helicopter F3C events is much harder than most think. I can do basic 3D stuff, I may have even invented a few of my own maneuvers, although I can't duplicate them again. 😂

Hi Robert I observed that the sd card comes out from my 18sz if I pull little harder instead of press and pop. Is that normal ? Is it ok? or the card slot is having some defect? Although press and pop also works while taking out the card. Please let me know.

If you're setting up electric, avoid the "throttle cut" function. It is disabled above about 25% throttle (all the time). It is very unlikely to do anything in flight. The "throttle hold" >> cut works as expected. "Throttle hold" is in the model menu. I can see this clearly in the transmitter setup tab for the Ikon FBL wizard.
That easy? Just group and it will have expo in idle up1 and idle up 2? Or you still have to set aileron and rudder. But not idle up1 and 2.
Selecting group, groups Normal, IU1, IU2, and all other conditions for the control selected. You need to select group for each control separately. For example, in the video I clicked group for Aileron. This step would need to be executed again for Elevator and Rudder.
@@monteerm I can't make it work, only way is putting everything in. Group is not working for me. I don't understand the connection with group.

@@monteerm When i put expo on a switch in my T14SG i do not have to worry about other flightmodes. The T16sz is doing everything wrong in my eyes. I have to put the same changes in idle-up1 and idle-up2. And again for elevator and aileron. That is way to much work everytime. I'm thinking this is not very well thought out by futaba. After the changes i copy the model for the next helikopter. So it's only one time.
Robert [TOG] You are trying to put expo on a single switch that adjusts aileron, elevator, and rudder all at once that is separate than flight conditions?
To have the same expo from normal on a switch in idle up1 and idle up2 you need to do it 2x extra or 6x because you have aileron, elevator, and rudder. Meaning, if you forget the expo in 1 and 2 it will turn of the expo you had in normal. Isn't there an easier way? My T14SG was way easier. Just expo on a switch and you're done. No doing it again somewhere in idle up1 and idle up 2.

You mean decreasing your rate a and b ”dual rate” values from 100 to 20 or 80?
@@monteerm for less sensative stick movement. I always thought it was a no go with rudder, but you can?
Robert [TOG] dual-rate will slow down the rudder speed, expo will make it less sensitive at center stick. You can use dual rate and expo on the rudder. The catch is with dual rate. Lower the dual rate value too much, and the FBL controller may act oddly. You may see this odd behavior with dual rates lower than 50. Also, remember to use negative expo numbers. For example, -20 is less sensitive, 20 would be more sensitive. Lastly, this all assumes we are talking about flying an RC Heli.

Hi Marcel. The idle up switch is not turned on by default. To activate it, go to Menu > CONDIT. At IDLE-UP, toggle from option INH to either ON/OFF. On/OFF will depends on where your 3 position switch is positioned. Good luck. Have fun.

Hi, regarding the Throttle curve in idle up mode, your settings shows to have a flat cure in idle mode. My question is with that Throttle flat curve is it possible to fly the heli 3D / upside down. Thanks.
Benoy Thomas that is the entire point of a flat throttle curve. The motor will not shutoff until I engage the throttle hold switch.
@@monteerm what I know is idle up mode is for 3D with Throttle curve is V shape. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Benoy Thomas for helicopters that are not using governors, it I common to use a “V” shaped throttle curve. This will make sure the RPM of the rotor head stays fairly consistent as you sweep the entire range of collective. For helicopters that use a governor to control rotor head RPM a flat throttle curve is generally used.
@@monteerm so if Governor in IKON 2 is used, then 3D can't be done. Correct ?

I see futaba is sticking with having the right dial and left dial default to ON for hover pitch and throttle trim. Does anyone think this is really a good idea to default to ON? If you want this function you are going to look for it. If you never heard of it before you are going to spend some time trying to figure out why your curves are bent. I know it is in the manual but I spent some time trying to figure out how my 0 pitch got messed up. I know about it now but why wouldn't they default this to INH?
Back in the day when nitro was king, the knobs probed to be helpful, i. e, Futaba 9cap and 10. FBl have made this almost null and void
Hi I order the 16sz heli versión and my question is I am using Ikon FBL in one heli and Vbar blue on the other heli how can I set the gain for the tail? I am using now the fut 8 super. Or can I copy the models from the 8 super to the 16sz on a SD card? Thank you in advance.
Jesus Soto for the Vbar setup bank switching and for each bank adjust your gain as desired for that condition. For the Ikon you can have rudder gain on one channel and bank switching on another. You cannot copy the model memory directly from the 8FG to the 16SZ. I put the two transmitters side by side and copying the config from one to the other.

Hi, one question please. In IKON 2 FBL software item # 7 Pitch: it's mention +12 & -12 degree pitch and 0 at mid stick. I am using Align pitch guage and I am getting the pitch what as mentioned. but in Transmitter it's mention the Normal pitch curve as -30, -10, +10 (midstick), +50, +80. something I am missing some where. I am using Futaba T16SZ. Any advise please. Thanks.
Benoy Thomas For competition hovering making the pitch curve less linear, ”flatter,” makes the model appear to be more controlled and easier for the pilot to keep it in one place over a point on the ground. When setting up throttle hold, do you put a value of -100 in the throttle curve menu for hold? Or just set it up in the throttle hold menu?
Demon Heli i do not adjust the throttle curve for the Hold condition. I just adjust the hold menu item.

They have removed the option to navigate the Normal, Idle1, idle2 and idle3 configuration modes from the screen. Unfortunate.
I usually just flip through my conditions via the switches. You mean something else?
In 14SG it is possible to navigate in the flight type parameters without pressing the switch, but changing the menu to the desired condition. This option is not present in the 18SZ, for example to adjust the tail gain after a brief flight, you need to turn off the model to turn the switch, change the parameters and only then can fly again the model, in my opinion a step back.
I get what you are writing about. I will make another video for you. The higher end Futaba radios have "Condition Hold". It is a button on the main screen. When "Condition Hold" is enabled you can adjust settings for your aircraft in the radio while the aircraft is still powered on. You can find this feature in the Futaba 12Z, 14MZ, 16SZ, 18SZ, 18MZ, and 18MZWC.
