What hits first when upgrading to the 60F, the tires or some part of the axle?
If you upgrade to a 60 front axle, you should need to do anything to the axle. So, I’d say tires.
@@benbastleMy question is, I’m putting in a Dynatrac 60 to my JT, and I’m trying to figure my tire size. What is the first thing that hits if there were no snubbers? Does the axle hit the frame? Does the diff cover hit the track rod? Does the drive line hit the pan? Do the tires hit the body? What hits first?
Would 37 in tires hit the body before the axle, or would the 40s, or ?
@ You’re tires will if first. It’s going to depend on how much lift you have and how much bump stop you have to stop the axle from moving up.
If you have enough lift and the proper amount of bump stop for the size tire your running, that will stop the tires from hitting.
I'm in the middle of deciding the direction I'm going to go on my 392 build as far as suspension goes. So far I'm going Terraflex long arm but still undecided about coilovers. I live in a heavily salted roads climate so a little worried about coilovers. I think I'm going Fusion axles kingpin D60 front and shaved 14 bolt rear 40 spline axles. I want the clearance under the diff. Fusion is doing their own cast 13 bolt so there's no sacrifice in strength. How to you like the Rebel offroad coilover setup? keep up the good work on your videos
Sounds like an awesome build! I have been happy with the Rebel Off-road coilover kit. I have them on both my jeeps. They have worked great for me.
Goodness gracious, for camping you can probably be ok with 37’s… 😄
You’re right if all I was doing is camping. But I’m not just camping, I’m rocking crawling, snow wheeling and other types of off roading.
What sliders do you have on the 392?
Rock slide engineer
@ thank you 🙏🏼
what state / area do you camp and go wheeling? I'd love to go try that!
Southwest idaho
@@benbastle awesome! hopefully i can make it out there!
this could have been an email
Or not
If you don’t mind me asking what did you do about your shifter boot? Did you buy one for the two shifters or sow it?
I took it to a upholstery shop and they made a new one.
Very cool thanks
Thanks for another great video, I’ve been wondering what the MO was with both of these rigs 👍. You’d be the perfect owner if a hellcat red eye swapped JT or JL
Thanks! A hellcat would be cool!
Fantastic looking rig 😊
Thank you!
How much louder is the Atlas compared to the stock transfer case on the highway?
I don’t notice any difference.
@@benbastle That's great to hear! Does your cruise control and adaptive cruise control still work after the ATLAS? Any lights on the dash or other issues after the ATLAS install?
@ Everything works and no lights on.
Nice rig
Thank you!
Aren't you way over on payload? F450's have less payload than a F350 because F450's are heavier, especially compared to gas F350's.
I’m not over payload. I checked all that out.
Bad ass rigs I love watching your videos
Thanks! It’s good to hear that.
Time to plan a trip out here to the a Rubicon for 2025. 😃
I definitely want to do that in 2025.
That is epic! This is exactly what I had in mind the past couple of years. Dreamy setup 😍 👌
Thanks!
Awesome setup! That's a heavy camper - F450 was definitely the right choice. I have friends who haul and they say the F450 is great and something about having a better turn radius than an F350 dually as well, and I'm guessing larger axles and brakes. What is the payload on that truck? I'm looking at getting a SRW truck and a lighter truck camper in the future.
Thanks! Yes, the turning radius is a lot better. Makes a big difference. I believe the payload is around 4500.
good stuff. Haven't done this one yet. One my list for 2025.
It’s definitely a fun trail.
👍👍😃🍺🍺
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Ben , looks like a great adventure 😊
It was, we had a blast!
👍👍😃
🙌🙌
Nice rig but I want a hellcat swapped JT content aha
So do I. 😁
Felicidades!!! Que increíbles máquinas, saludos desde Mexico!!!
Thank you!
Ben did you make it to Hells gate 8:20
No, didn’t make it there. Next time.
Great video as usual but I’m really looking forward to some hellcat swapped JT content
That would be cool! The JT is my brothers, not sure if he will ever do that.
@@benbastle you should do that with your JT
Looks fun 👍👍😃
It was!
Agreed, the drive along the river to T.O.W. is beautiful. Nice to see a video again feom ya. 😃
It definitely is.
Did your mpg’s go up highway driving? Now that you have a 2 wheel drive option.
I haven’t notice any difference in the mileage.
Question? Why did you buy a 392 when you know you are going to get a mod from Americas Most Wanted. Lol!!! Love the jeep brother. I bought mine from Kent at Petersons out of Nampa.
Two is always better than one!
Make more videos keep up the good work. Love the jeep
Thank you! More videos in the works
Nice 👍 I got the Metal Cloak full skid plate kit, I’m a sucker for that anodized gold
Thanks! I’ve got the Metal Cloak skid plates on my orange Jeep. They have been great!
That's a good looking Jeep. 👍
Thank you!
👍👍😃
Thanks!
Looks great, I bought a Body Armor High Clearance rear bumper and it is solid and looks great, but I love Motobilt and plan on getting many things from them so far have inner fender liners,
Thanks! Sounds like you have a great build going.
Ben, awesome video and sharing of your journey. New to offroading , have a 2021 JL and want to build it up to 42/43 inch tires don’t have that 392 but live in FL and we don’t have the type of rock crawling you have so hoping my 2.0 will be fine, will get 60 HD axles and as many upgrades as I can little by little,, your jeeps are awesome
Thank you! Don’t need a 392 to have an awesome build. Sounds like you have a great plan for your Jeep.
Sweet truck! I just swapped to ford last year after 10 years of duramax's. Love it so far! Plan to run it to at least 275k before I can hopefully upgrade to a 450/550
Thanks! That’s awesome! I definitely like mine so far as well.
Sharp🔪
Thanks!
Nice truck, have you ever thought of getting a hellcat powered JT or JL ?
I have thought about putting one in my orange JL. Definitely would be cool! Maybe down the way.
@@benbastle that would be REALLY badass, you wouldn’t regret it at all
@@blakemarchand6650 definitely!
Ben , I have had Fords for a long time , my Tow rig now is an F 550 flatbed, it has a DBL conversion I put on it a couple of years ago , it converts it to supper singles that are 42” on Aluminum Wheels , I like following your Channel, John😊
That’s awesome! I have seen some trucks with the super singles, they look cool! Thanks for following
Ben , good to see you as well as the video, John 1:45
Thanks!
Good video 👍👍😃
Thanks!
With the 392, no need for the orange JL anymore. The 392 can do everything you need. Sell me your orange JL. 😊
You’re probably right, but I think I’ll keep it.😂
@@benbastle beautiful rigs, both of them. I actually own a black 19 JLUR evo build with their king coilovers and everything evo has for the JL. I don’t have dynatracs/ 1 tons though. I want a 392, but with all I’ve spent on building mines, I don’t want to trade it for a stock 392, mines even without a v8, will leave a stock 392 in the rocks. And I can’t financially swing owning both, 😢. But I love watching your videos for inspiration 😊.
@@00ninja00 Thanks! Definitely don’t have to have a 392 to have an awesome rig!
hell i love road noise it reminds me im driving a 4X4
I agree
Pardon my ignorance i am not privy to all things off road yet. I want to learn as much as i can before buying my off road vehicle. So, this up grade will you need lockers, or hubs? How does this interact with the front axle disconnect on newer wranglers?
The transfer case transfers power from the engine to the front and rear axles. Doesn’t change anything on your front axle. You’ll still want lockers.
😘
🤤
👍
Im running these in 38x13.5x17, so far theyre doing well. But they cut easily. Went wheeling on dirt, and already see some gashes on the lugs. Sides are fine.
👍
Thank you for for the video Ben. I'm considering upgrading to an Atlas Transfer Case vice a Rubicon for my JT Sport when I go to one ton axles and 42s. Do you think the Atlas Transfer Case would require me modifying my MetalCloak skid plates? Does the Atlas hang down significantly lower than a stock Rubicon transfer case?
You should be good. It doesn’t hang down lower. I have skid plates on mine. No problems
This is a great video!! I have the same set-up ready to install on my 2003 Jeep TJ Rubicon. I bought a made-to-order Jeep highlander hardtop thru Bulldawg Mfg. This Jeep hardtop, made for overlanding, is designed to support 600lbs dynamic/800lbss static weight with no metal reinforcements or exoskeleton required. I have the same quick-release mounts that will hold my Rhino rack to the dual channels built into the jeep hardtop. I also have the small (batwing) 270 awning that will be mounted on the left side just like yours. I will top it off with the iKamper 3.0 mini (yet to purchase) but I had all the same questions you had because I knew I would have to come up with a unique mounting solution to ensure the ikamper cleared the awning in the fully open position. I did buy a rhino rack platform that was two inches wider than the one normally made for the TJ to give me more surface area (and spacing) to attach both. I feel I will have to hang the awning out further and low and then offset the tent to the right side (remember TJ is more narrow than the JL) but that is ok since it will help balance out the weight on each side of the Jeep, even though it may look a little odd. Anyway--thanks for posting this because it always helps your viewers like me!!
Thanks! I’m happy to hear it helped
So I'm about to 6.4 swap my tj I have a second hand atlas 4 speed but I'm trying to figure out is the zf8hp trans (8 speed) my best for in between...? In other words is that what your running on this?😅 thanks
I believe that is the transmission that is in my Jeep. My atlas is a 2 speed, so I’m not sure how that will work with the 4 speed
@benbastle thanks for the response 👍 I've found a few options and the 8hp70 might be the one I need
