Hey I respect it man. Thank you for leaving me that feedback. I can definitely see where you're coming from. My driving was honestly GARBAGE in this video 😂.. But the people spoke. They wanted me to do cockpit or hood cam, so I did it! I was just narrating post-commentary from the way the race felt. I'm not going to argue with you about your feedback- it's very fair. I will simply say that it is different when you've gone through practice and quali with the drivers in the lobby. I knew how they were (a little bit) and I saw their aggressive tactics even in practice. There are different nuances when you're in the actual race, communicating with the other drivers vs watching it. I love recording and uploading vids cause it gives me a ton of time to reflect and re-watch. I DEFINITELY see what you're saying, so I'm going to work on that. But yeah lol it was very intense to race even if I sound chill during the post-comm narrative lmao. Anyways bro, I appreciate your thoughtful feedback and comment. Lmaooo. I feel that, I really do. You didn’t hear it from me but rumors suggest that I’ve taken out 1 or 2 very bad drivers mid-race for their absolutely disgraceful or illegal driving. 😜 I also grew up on the BURNOUT games and I love Wreckfest! So, I’m hoping to be able to post those games here eventually. Just trying to get into my rhythm with Forza uploads because that’s the game I’m having the most fun with right now. Yeah I use an entry-level headset but the sound quality isn’t AMAZING. It isn’t bad though. It’s still sometimes weird for audio if cars are on another part of circuit but close to you (like over a barrier). But anyways, I’ll just keep practicing, although I won’t always use hood cam. Yeah I think I have a very light tune on the VW Golf and default tune on the Audi R8. I definitely need to start playing around with tuning more. Sometimes I use no assists, sometimes I use ABS only, sometimes I use all. Kinda depends on my mood and on the circuit. I am thinking it would have helped a lot without assists in this episode, but either way it was fun. If you have any tunes you like for the R8 or Golf racing then I’ll definitely check those out! Of course you can trail brake with abs. But it does increase braking distances but you can definitely trail brake with it

Yeah I agree with you. I will say- I think that the OP was being kinda figurative. Like it significantly impacts your ability to trail brake. That can be true. It just depends on the track and car, and the driver. For the most part, assists definitely do slow you down, but sometimes being slower is faster. I appreciate the insight from both of you though. I think it’s valuable to talk about the assists no matter what. And to talk about this game. We need better assist controls, like how AI has a 7-point scale, I want that for my assists, so I can have bare minimum TCS, stability, and ABS. Not just “full, sport,” or “off”.

Thats just not true at all lmao. I use abs, and i trail brake just fine. I can also outbreak others. Just cause you have abs on doesnt mean you need to slam the brakes lol, modulating brake pressure is still a thing

@@theFORZA66 ABS tries to help you not lock up the brakes, which is something you don't do in trail braking. You are easing off the brake during trail braking, so ABS doesn't help with that. If you trail brake correctly, the ABS light should never come on. You also don't need to disrespect someone from trying to offer advice, and add some "lol" and "lmao" crap to a comment for no reason besides to just be a jerk. Since you can't even spell "brake" correctly, you obviously don't know jack. Watch a video of what trail braking actually is. It's 10% to 20% of braking power riding it through the apex. In which case, again, it has nothing to do with ABS.

Extra: I’ve found that even when i slide my times are still faster than with TCS enabled which idk if it’s a forza thing but for some reason this games physics doesn’t penalize a mini slide as much as you’d think😂

Yeah I know what you mean. I play a lot off camera and I normally switch between all of my assists. Sometimes I use none, sometimes I use all. Kinda depends on the circuit and car combo, but I have seen how much TCS slows you down, it’s crazy. I’m going to give this circuit another try later, but I think driving hood cam was hinderance enough, so I opted for TCS. Also because the 2018 R8 is a pretty loose car. This right here! Why do the simracing elitists have to ruin other people's gameplay? I commented on a video of Richard Burns Rally, a rally racing game/sim, and someone else started saying things like "Real simulators don't have UI while you're driving" and other snarky stuff like that 😭 People like that guy are ruining the fun for people like us who just want to play the game how we want to play it 😢

Yeah you’re totally right about strategy in defending. This definitely wasn’t my cleanest racing but I tried. Part of the reason I stopped defending so much was because the drivers behind were so aggressive and braking late into every turn. Even if I defended they would ram into me. So I decided to drive the line for the most part but cutting early to attempt to take the inside (closer to the racing line). Coulda been better and coulda been worse.. @@T30Drifts i am less nice and simple minded. I begin with respect and give the chance for other to do the same. If they don't, well i give karma and i am not apologetic about it. This game made me have 0 tolerance for A-holes who think pushing other cars is ok.. Well i give the exactly what they give other times 10... Someday they will learn... If respect gives you no positive outcome then vengeance will be the norm and then it goes by: I rather be feared then loved. Not my first choice, but it seems on Forza it is the only way... This evening 1 guy smashes everybody in T1 2 and 3, like full throttle, he gets no penalty, i smash him back and i get 10 sec penalty.. This game is so f up in that regard.. @T10, just instant ghost when over 50 mile speed difference. That would solve 90% of the ram issue, and that would give ppl like me, who will take revenge, no reason to take revenge.. What is left is ppl like bmoz05 and for those the penalty system should be adjusted...

Nah you aren’t wrong for thinking that. I mean, it’s hard to say. I definitely pinched the line he wanted, but I think most drivers in his position would have backed out due to being too far behind to complete it. It’s still racing, so I’m not just going to give everyone the inside line just because they are looking toward the inside… although yeah, it does kind of look like I turned across late. Unfortunately, Forza won’t allow me to save my replays, so I am STILL not able to get alternative angles of the race. Either way, this whole lobby was like a GTAV server, so idk but I did my best with hood cam and the other crazies 😂… Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@T30Drifts use what you like and gives you the best feel.. It is you who drives the car.. i am a old guy that learned from GT1, and i still drive that way. Cockpit view in single player, hood in multiplayer with controller layout 15 (Buttons for brake and throttle, triggers for gearing) , ABS and TCM on, i tune my cars for this. I can not give a controlled throttle or braking input because the button do not have this function any more since the introduction of the triggers. But i can not get used to the triggers so it kinda forces me to use ABS and TCM. i am used to it now and you can not teach a old dog new tricks ;-) Even when this method is not the fastest, i am still faster then 99%+ out there...

Bruh i would respect you more if you turned on the abs and turned off the braking line

useing break line is a guide line. but ABS make is so you can lock up or break later to set faster laps.. @@theFORZA66

Ahh ok great, thank you for explaining that! Yeah I’m using a controller- no wheel/pedals for now, but maybe one day. I switch between which assists I’m using. Sometimes I like to use more and sometimes less. Not knowing this circuit (first times playing it on this game), I opted to use more assists. Ok interesting. Never seriously considered racing leagues on FM. But yeah I’ll look into that and maybe show that on the channel one day. Also thanks for your feedback on the cam style. I normally use chase close on this game, but people have been asking me for a couple videos to try cockpit or hood cam. It wasn’t pretty, but I gave it my best shot. Probably will switch between different camera modes as I figure out which ones I like the best. I think chase cams work best for awareness, but the other styles are much more immersive. I haven’t messed with tuning too much in this game, only tuned a lot in FH series, but that is much different in my experience. I want to practice tuning on this game, and I’ll share that as I go. Yeah I mean I played the Motorsport series since FM3, but not seriously, or I mainly stuck to drifting lobbies (hence, my name). This is the first one that I’m practicing becoming more competitive on. If you have seen my previous videos, I am typically pretty decent at attacking/defending. This episode was more challenging due to using hood cam. Of course, Forza doesn’t have a good quality radar like GT has.. Maybe one day we can get one and that will make cockpit/hood cam SOOOO much better. Anyways, thank you for the tips/suggestions. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Yes I agree! Cockpit/hood camera for me is the most immersive and exciting way to race, but it’s just not great when we don’t have a proper radar system. Yes! In my poll, people mentioned that the curbs were ice, and it’s true. The blue is so slippery it’s insane. Plus for some reason, the touring car series are always chaos. Yeah I mean I was kinda bad at circuit racing on FM7 so, since this game came out, I’ve been really focused on being faster and more consistent. I think it will be fun to continue playing and uploading, and then see how far I’ve come in a year or two. Sometimes I drive terribly still, which I really wanted to emphasize in this video. Some people called me noob in my previous videos (which is fine, I don’t care), and some people who enjoyed my driving wanted to race but thought they couldn’t compete with me (which is not true). I enjoyed it! Not my usual car types to race, but definitely fun learning the car and I have a better understanding of Mugello now. The funny thing is, I went straight into the Forza GT race after Mugello, which I think is why I turned in too early at Maple valley twice in a row… just goes to show how much faster the GT cars change direction.

@@T30Drifts yeah the GT cars change direction like a flea in comparison to them. The formula 60s are all about the balancing of throttle and steering and I like how engaged it keeps you driving them

Nah I think others will mostly agree with you! I was worse at FM7 racing (but good at drifting events). I started using more assists in FM7 because I wanted to actually learn the circuits and get better. Other people told me I should try to turn off track limits. I’ll probably still use them sometimes, but in my newest video, I did race with TL’s off, and the driving line is turned down to braking only. Thanks for watching and commenting! Fair question- Yep! This was bone stock and not tuned, straight from the factory! I’ll share next time I race with a tune so people know what I’m using. For some reason I got into the Porsche and just instantly loved it. In FH5 I do all of my own tunes, but I have never been as good at tuning in Motorsport series… one more thing I can spend some time to learn in this game! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Fair question! 3/6 of my cars were manual, but I drive automatic at the moment. Some of my shifts are earlier to prevent the back end from kicking out, or spinning the tires. Sometimes I shift earlier when in a downhill section so that I am closer in the powerband of the high gears when the ground levels out. Another reason you might see me shift early- specifically in the 1960’s Formula cars- is because the 4th and 5th gear in the McLaren is quite short. I may be leaving some on the table, but for the most part I have reasons for why I shift when I do. Keep in mind I’m not an expert, so there will definitely be times when I am shifting inappropriately. Thanks for watching and commenting! Hope you enjoyed!

I don’t know, I always use sim, I think it feels best! It’s more responsive, but yeah- you have to be a little bit more careful. I think it used to truly turn the wheel exactly as much input as you give it, but now it’s like “normal+” steering, if that makes sense. It still seems to help and correct you quite a bit. Yeah definitely agree with you! The 60’s Formula cars need a LOT of patience and smooth inputs. Every time you steer it has to be very small movements and same with brake and gas.. challenging!!… but fun. Manual with no clutch is pretty easy to get the hang of.
