Where did you find the Arromanches’s march?

Please can you help me with 1st cornet,2 cornet and Eb cornet parts❤

Emily, I have to ask where you learned some of the information on the march. The reason being is that I met over 20 years ago a gentleman from Keene, NH who know a great deal about Bagley. I seem to remember reading in an old magazine from WW1, perhaps Etude, that Sousa wrote an article about the 10 best parade marches - National Emblem was listed, the other 9 composed by Sousa. Thanks.

Brilliant job Emily . great analysis and playing. I first heard this march as the theme music for a television wrestling program when I was a boy in the late 50s and early 60s here in the New York metro area. I never knew the name of it at the time. I searched through numerous march collections trying to find it until google recently introduced a searching feature for songs. I sang the march into my phone, and voila'. I played trumpet in several concert and marching bands over the years. I love what you are doing.. Thanks and I wish you all the best.

As a march enthusiast, this march is not really played in the US. In over 45 years of playing and listening to bands in the US, I have never heard a US band play it, nor have I ever played it. The bands in England play this march quite a bit.

We toured through Europe this summer playing last post ceremonies at war memorial sites, including vimy ridge. We marched on to "Canadian Patriots" by Arthur Wellesley Hughes, and someone commented that we should have played vimy ridge. Our director commented as we toured the restored trenches and tunnels, and looked out over the land they were fighting for, "I always thought vimy ridge was oddly upbeat for a march with a title like that. Now I get it, they had a lot to be upbeat about for a victory like that." ...and Alford didn't write this. It's by Thomas Bidgood.

your playing is very nice. Bands however always sound like they struggle with that minor section...even military bands sound like its a problem, but you played it nice.
