Both my dad and I love watching your videos/channel. We've learned a ton from you and both take much better care of our feet, thanks to you. I'm 53 and my dad is 83. Since we started watching you and learned of you, we became fascinated and now work on balance and feet strengthening regularly, on top of our regular strength training routines. I wish you were local to us, so I could bring my dad to you and you take a look at his ankles, mainly his bad one. He plays softball several times a week but he has an ankle that is pretty weak. I know it will take time to get that strength back in his foot and ankle. Thanks for all of your inspiring work. Your passion for feet has inspired my dad and I to regularly work on all the things most people as old as we are totally neglect and take for granted. 😊

This is how i stand all the time. Im bery leaned over to my left, all weight on left heel and outside foot, yet my pelvis is still higher on the right. Im also twisted fairly heavily to the left. This makes my neutral standing posture, if i even really have one: left foot back, and knee fully extended; torso leaning over left leg; pelvis twisted to my left side; left hip backward, right hip forward with both anteriorly shifted to some degree; both feet angled outward, with low butt gripping and close upper thigh alignment; right foot is always about 5cm or so forward compared to left, left foot weight is on heel, right foot weight is on the outside of right forefoot with badically no heel contact, its almost like a tripod kick stand. Also when i walk underwear and whatever trousers tend to corkscrew too the left, leaving the center part/button areaessentially around the left groin crease. I dont seem to be able to push out of my left side very well, if at all. And when i walk i sometimes catch myself, when pushing off of right leg, trying to twist more onto my left side from and already very shifted position. Lastly, when walking, if i dont pay attention, i will drift off to the left, really annoying anyone stood on my left side.

Unfortunately I discovered this channel a little too late. 😢 Failing to find proper help in the Netherlands for my foot injury (7 years ago) I started to self diagnose. Firstly an external rotated tibia and later lack of internal rotation of the pelvis. 🤔 I started to self treat and ended up making things only worse. I also started walking on barefoot shoes. That was a good choice though. I love to use them in the forest as I like the way my foot responds to the uneven surface. I also love that I start to feel more and more. I can feel my front arch and also start to sense a more refined feeling at the bottom of my toes. I think the barefoot shoe also exposes my flaws, a weak mobilised foot. A result of a lifetime (I am almost 57) walking in "decent" shoes with good arch support. I am grateful to experience more sensations in my feet but I struggle to improve my gait. I have no idea what I'm doing...not really! Yesterday I allowed my foot to pronate more than usual during my walk and today my right foot and ankle feels strained. Did I do the right thing? So today I only went for a little walk. I also tried my old Hokas and noticed not to experience any issues wearing them. As my foot is not really doing anything in these shoes I assumed my foot needs to recover from overuse as apparently they still haven't adapted. Unfortunately time is not on my side. Next month I start on my PCT and I am trying to come up with a strategy allowing me to go. I am now contemplating to alternate my Xeros and my Hokas. However it really feels like a step back. Any suggestion is more than welcome. Many thanks.
