Vóden brings together Marguerite Lersteau on the nyckelharpa and David Sévérac on the hurdy-gurdy.
Their duo - sensitive and explosive - performs a traditional and composed repertoire, in line with their Scandinavian and Balkan influences, through two ancient and often unknown instruments, to which are added touches of singing and kavals.
Sounding like one entity, sometimes like a thousand, the illusion is given by the melodies and chords that intertwine around all their strings, sometimes gently and sometimes with great energy.
From Sweden to Turkey, from polska to kopanitsa, they give us the opportunity to listen to their common attraction for the exploration of popular music and the search for rhythm.

« Ballade pastorale finlandaise traduite en langue suédoise » Donc l'originale finlandaise s'appelle comment ? Bizarrement la mélodie me semblait familière : au final, c'est parce qu'elle ressemble beaucoup a celle de "viimesen kerran" (interprété par le groupe Loituma) mais comme les paroles n'ont pas l'air d'être les mêmes, c'est peut-être juste une mélodie répandue en Finlande, je ne sais pas. Très bonne vidéo en tout cas.
Merci Loic. Selon les sources (qui sont assez nombreuses !) ce chant est soit un traditionnel finlandais, traduit dans les années 60/70, soit tout à fait une "finlandsskvensk visa", à savoir une ballade finlandaise en langue suédoise (qui est répandue, voir officielle, dans certains endroits de Finlande). Le titre n'est autre que Kling Klang dans chaque cas, ou bien tout simplement le nom générique de "Vallvisa". A défaut de mélodie commune (celle du chant, puisque le reste est de notre composition), il n'est pas rare de trouver cette thématique et des bribes du texte dans d'autres vallvisa, bien sûr.
