You increased the crankcase volume with the spacer. Reeds open later. Mellows out the power. Got slower, didn't it?
How long did it (the crank) last after you replaced the top end in the other vid ? The big end seemed a little sloppy in the other vid. Hope you got it back together OK . Great bikes.
It was probably around 5 hours of ride time, luckily the big end bearing coming apart didn’t take the cylinder with it. Ended up doing a full bottom end rebuild, put a few hours on it and sold it to a buddy that’s going to restore it and hang it on the wall. Had too many projects at the time and needed to thin the herd.
Props on the effort, and the track looks good and rough, but it doesn't look like it's handling too well. Does the suspension need work?
It definitely did, I’m sure the suspension hadn’t been touched since the 90’s😂 was still a blast though!
what brand of piston did you install ?
It was a vertex
Nope that's not a 2002. It's a 2000 yz426f. I have the exact same year modell.
How can you tell between the two years?
@@thomascooper105 Let's say each year have got rid of the stock graphics, They all have the same stock plastic, Exhaust and mufller and so on.. The only way you can tell the difference just by looking at them is the exhaust. The 2000 year model has a slight curve to the front exhaust thx to it being in the way of the oil filter. 2001 and 2002 has a little more ''straight'' curve to it before it goes into the end exhaust. But to tell the difference between 2001 and 2002 you have to either be lucky they have still the stock graphics on them, Maybe ask a picture for the frame serial number.

Mines a 95 yz 250. I put wr tank n seat on it and bput to put a 9 or 11 Oz flywheel weight on it, I race it in hate scrambles, it's as fast as the new ktms lol, it's a good old bike.

Hey my friend I found one of these in a scrapyard and it has a broken aluminum assembly that holds the axle. Where can I find one of those? I do not even know what it is called. I would really like to get it running and actually ride it in the Spring. I am recovering from getting run over on my 1957 Panhead and almost killed by an F350. I am wanting to get out and work on projects again.

Does anyone know where I can find the electronic power valves for the 2004 cr125? My engine does not have the power valves in it for some reason

I have an 01 had tp get it jetted and got my carb cleaned adjusted the idle a bit and boom she runs amazing a pain to start when she's cold but after she was up one kick n boo.
Got mine the way it is with new valves and hot cams starts first kick every time...thats the way you want em..

I just inherited a 1985 200e (shaft drive, reverse). Does anyone know where to get a new carb? or what one I should choose on Amazon. any info would be appreciated
I’d search the year and model on eBay for a carb, the Chinese ones will work just fine. Make sure you get one that bolts onto the manifold.
Clean the original one if you have it the china ones are hit and miss not very reliable

I have a 1983 Yamaha 200E Shaft. I'm not a fat shit, but I weigh 235 lbs and I've been clocked several times at 50 mph. Plus I had a vest on with tools and things in it while clocking speed. It's fast for a 200!

i keep hearing how slow these era yz125s were from like 1990 to 1993 or somewhere in there so does this bike feel slower and less powerful than other 125s in same year and class...?????is this stock bike or has there been motor work done to make it faster.....ie.....mill down the head thinner head gasket ...port polish... boyesson/v force reeds......works pipe silencer.....???
It has a Noleen ported cylinder, and Noleen works pipe with an fmf silencer. I can’t comment on other bikes if this year, but it seems pretty quick up top, with zero bottom

From what I’ve heard, these are pretty slow compared to other yz125s, but I have nothing to compare it to. It didn’t help that millville is deep, has hills, and I’m 195 lbs😂

Main jet 1 size smaller . If it's jetted ballpark, it wont load up. A properly tuned bike is W spot on jetting.

Thank you! Might be throwing a 05+ 125 wiring harness, stator and carb on it so I can mess with different timing maps
Props to you for the build but you are way too rich on the needle and the float height is suspect....... all the porting in the world wont overcome that......
with all the 2 strokes ive owned, ive never kept one long enough to properly jet the carb, i really appreciate the input!
