Other than normal maintenance it is holding up quite well. I actually sold it awhile back to a close friend who has really enjoyed it and has taken many extended trips with it.

Thanks for watching the video! I haven't had any issues to date. However, it is my daily driver and I'm not extremely hard on it. I do put my foot into it from time to time but I have not taken it to the track or flogged it excessively hard.

R2 Hub I am not planning to track my car so it wouldn't get that kind of abuse but I do like to stand on the throttle sometimes. How many miles are on the car after being supercharged? And what transfer case does that have and if you would know is it compatible with an 08 5.7 300c? Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to a lot of your questions. It is my understanding that the supercharger was installed almost immediately before I purchased the car. After the install was completed, the gentleman who owned the car decided to trade it in on a brand new Charger Scat Pack. I'd guess around 5k since install. I've only put on about 3 or 4k. As far as the transfer case, it's bone stock. I would suggest checking with Edelbrock (or other supercharger manufacturers) for the correct package for an 2008 model. Thanks!

@@green68chevy the 1st gen transfer case is completely different than the 2nd gen. First gen cars use a Magna-Steyr MS140 full-time AWD (38/62) case. So, it is ALWAYS in AWD. The 2nd gen uses a Borg Warner 44-40 case, which is predominantly rwd but via an electric clutch, can split up to 38/62 like the 1st gen case. What the MS140 gives up in fuel efficiency, it makes up for in reliability as it has less moving parts and does not rely on sensors or a clutch to engage it's torque split. There are certain conditions that will command full-time AWD with the 44-40 case. If the TCS is off, temp is below 32°f, car is in paddle shift mode, or when the wipers are set to constantly on. Obviously, if the car detects rear wheel spin, it will send power to the front wheels. As far as torque capacity, I think it's about a wash. Unfortunately, neither is really designed for HEAVY abuse. I've heard of folks running in the mid 300 awhp ballpark in both models with relative luck, but obviously the higher you go, the shorter it will last.

I agree. There are likely a number of way better options to try and restore or save these fiberglass doors. Plasti-Dipping the doors was more of a fun exercise and test to see what the results would be. Obviously the best option would be to remove these horrible type doors and replace with something more modern and efficient. :)

That's a good suggestion, unfortunately as you start to try and sand off the loose bits it starts to pull itself apart. If this was done a few years earlier it would likely work pretty well.

That's a great suggestion and solution for those who have these old garage doors. I plan on replacing them sooner rather than later and was only trying to have some fun with Plasti-Dip. However, what you did sounds like a great plan for anyone trying to extend the life of their old doors!

Do you think semi gloss or gloss would be ok or would it be too shiny?

I have 2-1/2 car garage door love playing basketball in driveway these have held up great painted them 30 -35 years ago washed them maybe twice ya verry low maintenance.love it.

I recently bought an old fixer upper house with this garage door and had no idea how to make it look better. I’ll definitely try the oil based primer and paint with a roller. I can’t buy a new one for a little bit so thank you for sharing what worked for you!
