280Z BCDD Delete! Throttle Body Block Off Plate for BCDD.
This week we go ahead and follow the trend of deleting everything off the Datsun 280z. Most likely deleting the entire engine JK!.
Boost Controlled Deceleration Device. The BCDD is going to do is cut fuel while your engine returns to idle as you coast or engine brake down, also preventing backfires. There's no real benefit to removing it unless it has started to fail or already failed.

This week we went ahead and did a big brake upgrade to my 1978 Datsun 280Z. I meant to do SW12 , but I received a set of SW13 which are bigger pistons inside. These calipers are from a 95 4runner and are paired with a Datsun 300zx Non-turbo rotor. ►Support the Channel: Blameadrian.com ►Follow me on Instagram @Chele_505 ►Follow me on Snapchat @Chele_505

is it still working
Late but homie had to cut out how many quesadillas he wanted😂😭😭
So u just stick the wire under red thing that plugs into the fuse box?! And where did u screw that gold thing hanging off
So u just stick the wire under red thing that plugs into the fuse box?!
U explained nothing
I would have liked to see the complete step-by-step installation
Had an issue where my 135i shut off on a small decline. Didn’t stall but rather just gradually the rpms went to 0. It took a couple tries to get the car into D1 since it would shut off quickly after turning on again. I’m hoping it’s an easy fix
Was this when it was half empty? Quarter tank? Or was it just randomly? Maybe even every 30 mins from when cold?
@@adrianmejia3302 It was within 10 minutes after filling from a quarter to 3/4.
@Tomatodog-cm6fh so unless your car is taking forever to start up on cold starts or throwing a CEL related to fuel it may be your HPFP or maybe even your EKP. I had a similar issue but it was my Valvetronic motor
@@adrianmejia3302 interesting. Starts up quickly and no CELs either. It could have been a one time thing. Mines a dual clutch and someone said that it’s possible that it could’ve “forgotten” to downshift and the RPMs just fell off.
@Tomatodog-cm6fh easiest solution is to do a rest to your trans computer. I did this a while back. But never faced that sort of issue. I did mine since it would stay stuck when turning off my car before pressing the P. Also can you log your fuel psi? To see if there are significant drops?
Poorly done video. The music is annoying and the fast forward removal and then the magic reinstallation were absolutely useless.
How to install a rear cam tho??
The model I purchased had a camera that can be taped to the back windshield. It only uses 1 cable that connects to the front facing dashcam
I think the reason of the gap is because you attached the light on the back of the bumper instead the front?
How does it run since installing?!
It’s been running fine but my injectors went out. But it was holding pressure with no issues
@@adrianmejia3302sweet after watching this video it made me really want to clean up the the look from stock injector set up. Did you have to upgrade ecu for this to work?
@KSOLE7 no since I’m running stock injectors. If you upgrade to higher CC you’ll need adapter plates and low impedance injectors. If you want to do a standalone you could use LS injectors with adapter plates and a 14mm I believe it is fuel rail
@@adrianmejia3302sweet def going to go your route! Also thank you for the bccd delete tutorial 🙏🏼🙌🏻
Is really necessary removing the bumper?
If you take out the splash guard you may have enough space but to do it properly it be best to remove it
What alignment have you used after the upgrade? I am planing to do the same , but my mechanic told me that I would need new specs of alignment for the car . It’s an e82 , 125i , can somebody help ? Thank you
You can still use the OEM alignment specs. With these control arms you’ll just be adding negative camber but not a whole lot. I have camber plates so I run 2.5 degrees of negatives camber all around and 0.5 toe
I have a same car like this I can’t find trunk release button please iff any buddy know about let me know thanks.
Does the metal cambus get hot?
Like any electronic it will get hot. But wouldn’t melt anything
@@adrianmejia3302 yeah I didn’t ask that correctly 😂😂 I meant to word as does it get hot enough to melt the bumper plastic lol
Yes I figure that’s what you meant since they pretty much sit right there. No you wouldn’t have that issue
What is the point of even raising octane? Just use the gas that is recommended. If you want to buy the Royal Purple Fuel System Cleaner, that's different.
Did you use the same pads from the s13w or which ones did you use?
The kit I bought came with brake pads so they fit.
But quick research shows that the S12W brake pads fit with no issues
Hello, I had the Same problem, I bought the s12w and They sent the s13w, I have a doubt if these brakes fit well and there is no problem.
They fit well but you have to have a more negative offset wheel and 16” wheel minimum
@@adrianmejia3302 do you used the same rotor spacer for s12w as for the s13w?
@@EdgarArellano-gl2ho it’s a 5mm spacer provided by silver mine motors
using shell 91octane
i have a 2017 lander rover ds-hse, since using stp octane booster, milage has improved from 28 imperial mpg to 33mpg
u can knock the bearring out but u have to press them in or u witt damage them by using a hammer and socket to put it back in'
I had it pressed in. Later on I got my own press for it
No you're not supposed to tighten the wheel bearing so tight you should never have to use a private or an extension bar to break that nutley is that nut is what was the tension on the bearing so you're over tightening the bearing and ruining them
The torque spec on the nut is 175lbs for this vehicle
Were did you get this plate from??
I believe from Z car depot
Thank you! Worked well for my E46
Thx
I’m having the same issue with the hub not going all the way it and is making the rotor rub on the caliper
Did you put on a 5mm spacer inside the rotor hub?
@@adrianmejia3302 yes I added the one z car depot offers

Everyone is like it serves a purpose. Well no shit Sherlock’s point out the obvious much.. if it’s there yeah it has a purpose. He was just saying it’s not needed to keep your car running basically and doesn’t cause to much damage. People just like to be correctors but yet ain’t even correcting the actual important shit 😂
What’s the lil washer gasket under then 10mm called
Hi mate, i live in Australia and the shipping $$ is stupid expensive for those spacers. Im wondering if you know the exact thickness so i can get someone to make them locally? Cheers
I bought 25mm spacers but if I could find any I’d go 20mm spacers. These are Jeep spacers if that helps.
@@adrianmejia3302 thanks 😊
great video, the n55 is sick!
I know this is a slightly older video but what were your symptoms that led u to believe it was your hpfp, because I have the same car and I’m having some fueling issues and I’m having trouble figuring out what it could be
Since I was tuned I had MHD show my STFT% being super high and low which is an indicator that the HPFP is going out. I had very hard shifts happen, almost like a manual car that you would clutch dump every shift, and lastly at the very end the car would die or be super slow. Also you have a German code pop up that says fuel injection pressure too low
That black stuff is called butyl heat it and it's a great weather seal
This pains me to watch
Have you noticed any browning on your spark plugs? I got a six pack of these and then noticed some folks saying they have seen plug browning with various octane boosters.
Never seen my spark plugs brown. Typically white 🙃 but not brown
Higher octane doesn't give you more power.
which model of m3 is it? and do they fit on e39?
This was for All E9X and E82. You would have to see if the M5 E39 shared the same suspension design as a non M version
Was bored so I watched all your videos on the 280z and I have to say, enjoyable videos but you are not helping the performance aspect of the car at all. It's already been dyno proven that removing a lot of the oem components from the intake manifold and so on actually decreases the overall performance of the vehicle and in personal experience with tinkering so many of these cars it's true. Honestly not sure what your goals are but your time and money honestly would've been better suited just replacing, cleaning and restoring a lot of the components and hardware and cleaning up the wiring and tuning up the car.. All that would go a long way in making the engine bay look presentable and retaining and increasing HP and overall drivability of the car. The fastest version of the 280z I ever felt with a non-built L series engine was a completely refreshed L28 (New spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor, fuel injectors, valve adjustment, timing adjusted etc etc...) with everything cleaned up and all the OEM components installed and it pulled on Stock L28's with triple webers. I currently finished rebuilding an L28 that will be going into my Z next week. Full engine rebuild, everything new from the rings to bearings, polished crank, slightly higher compression and slight headwork for better airflow and port matched stock intake manifold with everything on the intake manifold either new, or cleaned up and restored including the the injectors etc and will see if a slightly bigger cam would benefit at all after putting some miles in with the stock cam but I am willing to bet this will be the new fastest version of a OEM fuel injection that I will have been in especially since my Z is installed with electric fans, light weight flywheel, light weight wheels and other things to reduce the weight of my car.
hello how’s the pump holding up sir?
It’s still going. Haven’t had issues except this summer but that was my EKP Getting hot here in Texas
@@adrianmejia3302get a fan for your EKP module
Supposedly there is a new version of the pump that doesn’t draw as much current. Just emailed PW today to confirm but may still find an aftermarket ekp to have on standby in case it shows signs of heating. Have you upgraded?
@nell7869 you may want to look at the EKP on Amazon by ET3 Design
Nice 👍
Man you have any IDEA how helpful this video is omggg 🙏 thank you dawgg
Im glad it helped you out!
I slightly bent some of the medias during installation, looks wavy. Will it be fine?
It should be fine
What’s under the lid on the left side?
Your Fuel Pressure regulator is what I’m assuming you are asking about.
Would have been nice to see the whole process.. how did you install the top spring?
Just have to pull up on the springs. If it’s for the drums then you have to move the gear with a flat head to get it to loosen up. Rotate it down wards
are they burned out yet or still working in your car after 4 years?
Still working on the family car.
Put the bottle in with a funnel . Obv not the full bottle
There is a cable coming from the cabin, perhaps it is the hand brake, do you think it will be ok to be exposed to the heat of the muffler? Thank you.
what codes were you getting?
I kept getting lean fuel mixture codes and it would be frequent when I was below half a tank.
Hey you put the wrong link in the beginning of hte video to the taking off the front bumper video. The link just comes back to this same video.
I’ll look and see if I can change it didn’t notice that. Thanks!
