How to square the gantry on a Chinese Laser
Just installed the kit and there is a small amount of air coming out of the nozzle with the machine off. Is this normal?
Yes this is normal when the machine is unpowered with the normally open solenoid. There is a manual valve to turn off air completely is the laser is unpowered.
What PSI do you set this to?
Great video! Just got my kit, looking forward to installing it. Would also love to install a stack light. Do you have a source for them and a video to install?
I have ordered it a month ago, but have not received it yet. Can you get back to me about the timing?
I ordered one as this seems like a nice setup, but I'm waiting to hear the status of my order?
DId you ever get your order?
Hello! I've tried to reach out to guys via your emails and Facebook but have not gotten any replies. I have a couple of questions for you regarding your system. Please reply so I can ask and order. :)

Thank you for your video. I have been dealing with my laser being out of square for a while now. Your video pointed me in the right direction and YES it worked. I solve the problem of getting a square to measure rail to rail by clamping a 1-2-3 block the Y rail. That gave me the height and a good reference to use my square to straighten it out.
Mine loosened over time. Thx I’ll try this.
@4:05 HEHE... HE SAID "GRAB THE SHAFT"...
Thanks a lot for the good explanation and ideas on how to measure the bigger diagonals. Very good job!
is this kit still available? Will it work with the Rudia 6442s controller?
wut dis do?
Hello! Realy like what you made! This kit is amazing!!! Did you send to Austria? I wrote two Emails, but no answers😢 Hope you are ok?!? Thanks!!!
Manufacturers should provide better maintenance tools.

I have a 100W Omtech going to up grade with your system, what compressor do you recommend that quiet? You have a email? thanks
Works fine but my job is complete and turn off the laser, i still get low flow air coming out of the nozzle. This should not happen, right?
It's how it's designed. Even with the upgrade. It's a weird choice, not sure what the logic was behind it,
Looking for status on our order. It has been three weeks with no reponse to our emails. We received confimation but, no updates.
Any luck contacting them?
Didn’t receive a response it, we did receive our order 👍 about 3 weeks after placing order
DId you ever get your order?
Are you still in business? I placed an order a little over a week ago, and have't had a response.
did you get your order? I am interested in ordering, but I have not gotten. a reply to emails with questions.
I did get my order, and it works great! Installation went smoothly. The only part that I didn't enjoy was drilling a hole in my brand new laser for the switch, but that's not Laser Artifex's problem.
With most macvhines the Y belt tension is achieved by adjusting a unit on the backat each end of the gantry. If you tighten the ajustments differently this may be the real cause of the gantry being off square so be careful to adjust both belts by the same amount. The method demonstrated is exactly what you need to do, with the big sqaure and equal diagonals method. However there is one impoertant point missing from this video..... the gantry bearing blocks. Those bearing blocks are usually pre-tensioned onto the rail to ensure they are bscklash-free. If you twist the gantry then you are twisting the beaiing blpcks out of line with their free running position and this will result in premature bearing wear.. It is therefore important that your slightly loosed the end bearing blocks so that they can "float" into thier natural stress-free alignment. Dint forget to retighten them after you have squared the axes..
We placed our order. Do you have an update on lead time? Purchase was made 7/21/2023
Thank you , one of the best info videos i have seen on youtube for a while, I knew I had a problem but not sure why things were coming out not square.
Tried to contact you to see when my kits are shipping
Yes, I have the same issue
@@dkt4728 I recived mine a little after posting Great Addition and I am very happy with it
THANK YOU!... while sometimes I feel mechanically and electronically inclined to do these things on my own, this guidance is spot on. Cheers.
You the man.
super helpfull thankyou
I installed my kit with no issues. Easy to follow instructions. Works very well on my Ruida controlled laser with lightburn as the software. Much better than my "manual" adjusting of air that was provided by the wheezing little onboard air pump. Hooked to my shop compressor, cutting and engraving results are far superior. I'm not affiliated with Artifex - but credit where it's due - it's a good bit of kit and I recommend it. Cheers from Australia.
Do you have a list of what to buy? For the pump assist? My pump will be here today
I need some troubleshooting advice. The air compressor assist kit works when the laser is not running, turns off when the laser starts. Any advice?
Did you check the switch settings on the board or the software settings? The manual will have instructions on how to change these settings.
What diameter PU tubing is used in this kit??
6mmx4mm PU
I've ordered one of these kits. I've heard good things about them, here in Australia.
The upgrade says to plug a cable into the laser controller, but there is a wire in the 24v port, am I supposed to remove that?
Francis. The new circuit board we have has a port labeled "Pass through". You can simply plug your existing plug into that without making wiring changes. This is assuming those wires are from the factory.
Does anyone know how to reach this company??? I accidentally ordered the wrong upgrade kit and they do not respond to email and NO PHONE NUMBER! Please help!
I did the same thing. They replied to my email in a day or so. Basically, they couldn't change my order but noted that I purchased the incorrect one and to send the correct control board. But, even if that doesn't happen, the control boards are the same on both types. There are 2 switches on it you need to change on the air assist control board depending on which laser control board you have. Email them. They can explain better I'm sure.
@@sarahmbrown1 so the kits are actually identical?
@Francis Brady the air assist control board can be used on either type of control board on a laser. I forget what the upgraded kit gives you extra. But I do know I ordered the upgraded kit. It just came today. I haven't installed it yet. But I checked the board, and true to his word, the settings were correct for my machine.
@@sarahmbrown1 Agreed. I rewatched the installation video and it does mention a switch on the board to select either the 500mw Ruida position, or the 300mw for mine. Thank you for the info!
Thank you for contacting us. We are a very small owner owned and operated company and are working on catching up on emails from the holiday weekend. We try our best to be quickly responsive, and typically respond within a few days (excluding holidays and weekends). Please accept our apologies for not responding in an acceptable amount of time and thank you for your patience. Also, when you receive your kit, we do have a phone number for technical support, though email is preferred at this time. For now, we only have an email option for inquiries about orders. Please feel free to email us any questions you have about your order or installation. Thank you for choosing our product, we are confident you will enjoy the upgrade to your machine and will do everything we can to help you through the installation process if you have any issues.
I have a 1x1mtr diode laser machine with alignment issues.. and no one can tell me how to calibrate the rails.. its driving me crazy
Greatly appreciated!
Do we need to disconnect the existing air system in the machine?
Yes, the existing air pump will be disconnected and the 6mm tube that goes into the existing pump will connect to the kit pneumatics.
How do we deal with the tubing if we dont have the 2 air assist outputs shown at 10:19?
You would need to find an existing hole and use the rubber grommet or drill a 9/16" hole for the bulkhead fitting.
Do you guys also sell the stack light as a plug and play kit?
We do not at this time.
I Just ordered a kit 9/4/22 Hope it come sooner than 2 to 3 weeks, but we shall see.
Did you receive it?
did you receive your order?
@@ferrummetalfab Yes I did and was worth it!!
DId you ever get your order?
This is awesome!! I’ll be ordering one of these kits. I know how to wire up the solenoids directly to my board but this just makes it so much easier and convenient.
Thank you for sharing! Very useful! This should be the starting point of a proper laser calibration/alignment. Regarding the squareness between the x and y linear rails, do you think a 3d printed custom square would be accurate enough ?
Thanks SO MUCH for this tutorial. I searched high and low and could not find this information!!
