What is the last rose in the video? Beautiful garden! Thank you!
Hyancith are my favorites!! Love lasagna bulb layering too💚💚
Where are you located?
All of them are spectacular and it appears you have done a very good job of planting them correctly, thank you for the tour and inspiration
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌿🌳💚
So nice to see you mentioning Ergongzi on Etsy from Austin Texas, I just discovered her online store very early this year and I’ve been a regular customer of hers ever since ordering over 20 unusual varieties from her so far for my own rose garden. Her selection of roses is second to none with own root varieties I’ve never seem before. She is a very kind caring vendor who responds quickly to any of her customers concerns. I also bought a Lilas rose from her earlier this year and its is beautiful! The roses resembling little peonies very full and old fashioned, seems to be a little slow to establish and a little on the smaller size compared to other bush roses. Good luck to us both! Happy Gardening 🌹
It’s amazing how different rose care is for me in 10a Orange County California. I am itching to clean my roses up but need to wait until late Dec early January. Maybe even Feb!
I love to plant, and seeing your beautiful rose garden and learning about what you do to care for them throughout the year has been so fun and helpful to watch. I’ve always been a bit intimidated by them (treating pests, etc.), but now I’m thinking maybe I’ll try a few 😁 I’m in Zone 8A.
Great video Laurie! I love all your roses! Thanks for all the helpful tips and advice!
I've got Akebono and Menton in my front beds and they are so pretty. I think Akebono might be my fave tulip, although I love Queen of Night as well in little pops.
I can't wait to see Akebono! I love those dark almost black tulips and pansies. So pretty!!
RBF 😂😂😂😂 I’ve got one of those 😠
We added a white lavender to our purple ones this year. Hopefully next year they will look really pretty together 🥰
Oh pretty!! I would love to try those!
A family day in the garden - how lovely 🥰 🏡
❤
I'm in 7A also in south central KS. Haven't had much luck with wintering over Dahlias here in the ground. Your yard and gardrn is beautiful. Wow!
Great video Laurie! I loved all your shots at the beginning of the frost on the roses and on the maple tree leaves! So sad you lost all your leaves! We are really lucky in Ireland, Autumn starts in like August (some tress start to change and the harvest begins) and we still have some leaves left now, so Winter nearly doesn't start until end of November so we are blessed with lovely leaves for a good few weeks! I just adore Autumn and am always sad when it is over!
That was such a helpful explanation about the lavender ! I knew to cut it back, but I think I cut it back way too much because after I did that it died. I never knew what happened. Thanks for the explanation!
I'm glad you found it helpful! You are welcome 😀
I used to have a Vizsla, named Fizko. Great hunters. I used to live in Napa, ID. The banana belt, Your channel and garden are spectacular.
Oh fun! Vizsla's are the best. Thank you!
What kind of lavender do you grow? Mine died when we had the august heat wave. Even though I watered every evening. But my sage and rosemary, planted on either side, is doing great.
Pretty sure I have English and French lavenders. That's too bad you lost yours!
Question, I first saw your back yard tour before this one. The backyard appears as though your house is "tucked away" in the mountains or on private property, but I noticed in both videos what sounds like heavy freeway noise so I'm confused. Your property is very beautiful so glad I found you!!
Yes, it is kinda close to the freeway so it can be deceiving. The traffic noise carries more in the morning so that's why it sounded loud in that particular video. So while it is not tucked away in the mountains we want it to feel like it is. I am not sure if I answered your question but I hope I did. The creek runs down from the mountain and we are more west from the mountain. 😀I am so glad you are here.
Your yard and garden are so beautiful! I love gardening and like you I learn something new everyday. Thank you so much for sharing.🩷
Thank you for being here!
Love your grass Laurie. ❤ I wish I could get mine to look half as nice .
Thanks. It was a little rough in spots this summer but it always perks back up in the fall.
If your peaches aren’t quite ripe you can pick them and put them in a paper bag to fully ripen. I know my comment came too late to help for this year but maybe for next year.
Oh good idea!!
So clean!! Must feel good.
So good!
very nice❤❤❤❤
Hello, Do you winter sow anything? This will be my 3rd yr & I love it!!
I have never done that but I want to! What do you like to winter sow?
Great video Laurie! You all did a great job together! I just find your videos so relaxing and inspiring but also wholesome and positive. Thank you so much for sharing xx
Such a nice compliment. Exactly what I am trying to share ❤
I replayed this. Just lovely 🍁🍂
Love that family teamwork 😊 The jazzberry was absolutely gorgeous, so hard to see it go 💜🤣 I’m looking forward to Christmas decorating too 🎄Thanks for sharing your beautiful polished garden along the way. On to the next season!
Family teamwork is the best ❤Thanks Terri.
You are one busy 🐝! Love your pep talks to yourself too ha ha. Can’t wait to see the finished product and the beautiful color in the spring!
I know! I make my life a little too crazy sometimes. I am ready for winter. haha. Thanks Terri
I agree, a blank slate feels good at the end of the season! Good grief your petunias were huge, they needed their own zip code! 😂
🤣Right?!
You and yours are such an inspiration! Your yard is SO lovely! Thank you for the beauty, you've made me into a new subscriber!
Thank you for your nice comment. And thanks for subscribing ❤
Your home and gardens are so pretty.
Thank you!!
Everything looks nice and clean. Can't wait to see the christmas lights 🙂
Currently working on them on the nice days!
You surely do have a very beautiful and polished garden, my type of style👍
Can anyone tell me what the blue:green backdrop plant is? The one right behind very her first shoveling/digging shot.
It's Lavender :)
Is your creek natural or is it man-made? My first time here, beautiful garden!
So excited to see it in the spring. Love that ruffle tulip! The white one. Looks like a peony almost!
I know! I can't wait to see it when it blooms!
You’ve worked so hard Laurie - you deserve a rest now 🥱☕️
Haha. Thank you. I am ready for a rest. Probably won't get it until January! haha
Great video Laurie! I cannot wait to see your bulbs next spring! I love tulips, they are so pretty! Thanks for sharing as always xx
Thanks for watching Helen! ❤
Great job planting all those bulbs, bet it is going to look amazing in spring. It is a lot of job, but also a lot of fun playing with all the colours. 🥰 I love tulips and daffodils, the sight of them growing in the spring despite the bleak and rainy weather we usually have here in Bergen is healing for the soul. 😊 I plantet about about 4-500 tulips, daffodils and crocuses about a month ago (hopefully not too early - first frost is not until next week), fingers crossed they will all come up next spring.
You are so right, spring flowers just make everything better! So so good for the soul. I am sure your flowers will be beautiful!!
I bought a bunch of daffodils and crocus. But here in Ga. its still warm. Next Wed. thru Fri. will be sixties with forties at night. And rain. I think your groupings will be spectacular when they come up! Love your tulip colors! I've never done tulips.
Oh yeah I bet you guys have to wait quite a bit longer to get bulbs in the ground than we do. Have fun planting!
It looks so nice and clean. That’s such a pretty blend. Can’t wait to see it come spring. !!
❤
I just knew you were going to end up pulling out those plants once you got going 🤣 something I would’ve done too! Take care of your arm!
Haha. I was trying to talk myself out of it so many times. haha
I always look forward to your videos! You have such a beautiful home and garden. Piper cracks me up! I love when she makes an appearance in your videos.
Oh thank you so much Brandi! I appreciate it. Yeah Piper is such a fun quirky dog. We love her.
Piper. 😂 She knows she isn't suppose to do that, she tucked her little hindend and waddled off.😂 She's so cute, I always enjoy seeing her. Also enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
Haha. Normally I would just let her go for it but those were way too messy 😂. She’s a stinker sometimes. Thanks for being here :)
Wow! Your weather changes so quickly. Love planting bulbs and having so much joy and colour to look forward to in the Spring 😆
Yes we basically go from summer to winter. Haha. Not very gradual. But I love it!
Those tulips are the most beautiful colors! Can't wait to see them come up!
Thank you! I can’t wait either ❤
Your shed is so cute. Do you use it for more than tool storage?
I would love to have this be my garden shed. That was the idea but we keep the large mower in there and it’s kind of in the way. Plus we have some lifetime tables and chairs. It was my goal to organize it to make it work but I didn’t get to it. Maybe next year. 😂
Please share your Christmas decor!
I will. Hoping it get to it soon 😅
I have terrible clay soil with lots of rocks, but an auger is still way faster and easier than a manual shovel or trowel (less blister too). Some things to consider are the voltage of your drill. This will ensure it has enough strength for the auger to spin through the soil. Also, having a firm strong upper body and wide leg stance to really push in and ensure the drill doesn’t spin out of your hands as it drills through the soil. So I don’t recommend an auger for people who don’t have at least some upper body strength. I have large rocks and clay but I also rely on the anti kickback of my dewalt 20 volt drill. That way if it finds a large rock or gets stuck on a large tree root it will stop and not twist my arms off. Laura from garden answer has mentioned it a few times in her videos too.
Good point. I was thinking about that the other day. I was using my husbands drill- not sure of the voltage. I would love to get my own and what a great suggestion of the anti kickback dewalt. I will look into it! I would love for the auger to work for me! Thank you!!
