My Humble Laser Lab and Exhaust System Set Up Vlog Ep 1 30 watt Fiber Laser Engraving Machine
After going down to laser engraving RUclips rabbit hole, I decided to invest in a 30 watt fiber raycus laser. I consider myself a creative entrepreneur, with experience in branding, video editing, marketing, graphic design, 3d and CGI art. When I saw what these machines were capable of, I instantly wanted to get one to satisfy my creative mind, and create some cool stuff with the potential of generating some side business eventually. The only thing is, these machines are expensive, and I had to sell some beloved items in order to buy it, but I believe it will be worth it in the end. I was able to find one used on the marketplace apps for a price that made it worth the risk. This machine d...

We saw our neighbor Luis who lives in the ...
No Crank No Start Troubleshoot & SOLUTION 2001 Ford Expedition Starter Solenoid Problem Solved
Просмотров 78 тыс.2 года назад
I'm not a mechanic but I am a DIY guy that has access to the infinite information here on RUclips. I ended up running into a couple additional issues beyond the starter solenoid and was kind of lucky to stumble upon the bad connection at the battery terminal. Feels great to be able to solve the problem and avoid paying hundreds at a repair shop. Decided to record and post my experience troubles...

@@sambworkin lol
I have the same problem and the problem cannot be resolved. I am going to do that process, cleaning the battery terminal is what I am missing, thank you
Not a snowy jr but a snowy 2 😂
Yes lol, not even Snowy the 2nd 😆

Thank you! Does your friend have a laser machine?
I got the same crappy truck... It only gets worse my friend..... Mines dead again, 278000 + miles on it....
the way you took it off is the way you put it back on I was always told
Having the same problem with my Lincoln Navigator flashing anti theft.. I replaced the starter still nothing I’ll try to go back and clean all connections thanks 🙏 hope it works
Thanks man it helped me a lot
Awesome, I love to hear it!
But you were able to still start it up by touching the solenoid with the screw driver? Even with the ground like that?
Wow I wasn't expecting this video to reach so many people! Reading through the comments has me completely grateful that I took the time to film, edit and publish the process! I figured out how to fix the issue with the help of other youtubers, and I'm glad that my video was able to do the same for many of you. I've added some Amazon links in the description, your support is greatly appreciated!
I love you for doing this! I'm trying all this on my truck now, I've been carless for a week in the middle of winter in AK, I'm about to lose my mind! I can't afford a 20 mile tow and a mechanic!
@@KnockedupNout I'm sorry to hear that, I'm wishing you the best! I can try my best to answer any questions you might have.
@@sambworkin Oh wow, and you're still responding to comments after all this time! Thank you! I do have one (maybe more hopefully not too many😬), when you bypass the starter relay by bridging with the screwdriver, did the starter engage at all? I get spark but no response from the starter at all. I suspect it may be the battery connector, battery is new because I thought it was that, I've got a new starter here but no tools to install, so I'm trying everything else in hopes. I'm checking fuses in a bit here...
@KnockedupNout Check the connections to the battery terminals first to make sure everything is properly secured and connected. Then jumping the connection with the screwdriver make sure to hold it on there solid for a second or 2, mine sparked, and at fist I pulled it away quickly, but when I held it there for a second or 2 it ended up starting if I can remember correctly.
@@sambworkin So I was getting spark by jumping the connection like that but no starter reaction at all. I did have to replace some fuses. My brother came and was able to help me replace the starter! We had already tried tapping it while cranking but it did nothing. Turns out one of the wires to the starter was corroded and must have been causing an arc or something because one of the bolts was nearly sheared off, but not like a cut, it was more like corroded melting crispy chunks falling off! It ate almost all the way through the bolt. With the starter replaced finally it fired right up! Thing is it gave no signs of dying, it was literally cranking one minute and the next it was just dead, no strange sounds or anything. Probably just fried.
Thank You Excellent Video!
Thats what was found on mine, a bad connection it lasted for about three weeks after they got it running again, guess what!! Im here again, it happened again no crank no start, same bs, hate this freaking truck
Did your retest the solenoid after it happened again? It might have been the bad connection to start, then the solenoid might have gone bad three weeks later (?)
It happens that way. You just have to let it sit
Maybe hook it up like it says to
Very helpful. It helped me solve my starting and power problem on my 1998 Expedition. Saved me hundreds of dollars including the tow bill.
Love to hear it!! I'm glad I was able to help pay the knowledge it forward. 🙏🏽 💪🏽
Bad ground
Im going thru this right now i needed a trouble shooter thank you soooo much im gonna do each step in the mourning. Ill let ya know
I have 2000 expedition
It was a very green positive cable. Cleaned it with a steel brush starts right up
Please try to show all of the camera pix instead of 1/2
This video helped me today , just wanted say thanks been trying to troubleshoot it myself and tried a bunch of things turned out the positive wired was taped with electrical tape just like yours and wasn't making a connection so ima have to do a set up like you did , but I got my car to start from making contact with my battery for now and after a long day in Texas heat I finally drove my car home
I feel your pain Brother! I had the same problem. Most tubers after testing the solenoid, connections etc, rule out the starter by jumping the posts with a screw driver. I don't have a neutral safety switch on my transmission, so it is not that. I was not getting cranking volts from the keyed ignition switch (new one) to the solenoid "S" terminal on the new solenoid switch. I just added a push button starter button. a 12v keyed hot wire to one push button terminal and another wire from other side of push button starter to the "S" solenoid with a 20Amp inline fuse in the line. I plan on replacing the wiring harness this winter. 1967 Mustang Gt, built 460 big block pro street car. Thanks for sharing and cheers from Motown/Dearborn.
that batter looks pretty bad with corrosion. it always happens after full of gas also
LOL, mine did it after I got back from a car show. Was running fine until the next time I got in it, and NOTHING! lol. I did get gas that day too!! Maybe it's the gas, lol
14:17 super janky crimp... if that works for more than a year, that would be amazing.
i replaced the solenoid, battery connectors, fuses are all good. could it be the starter ignition switch?
Bless ur heart I just had the same problem n it drove me crazy I finally just took it to a mechanic n problem solved I despise mechanic work
Me too William! Most are shady crooks, not all tho. They say things like: "You need a whole new engine etc, lol It will cost you $8,000 dollars. lol
What was the clicking noise?
Solenoid switch engaging.
🙏
This is a scary sight it’s a blessing no one got hurt🙏🏽
Major blessings man 🙏🏽
This happened last summer, the reason I'm posting now is the city's was proposing to remove parking and add a 3rd traffic lane, we were able to get the city to deny their request because it would have created a major safety issue for all the residents on the block, especially considering THIS happened last year. We were able to prevent the plan from moving forward which would have increased the chances of this happening again
I had the same issue but I though was I burned cable in the fuse box and what is causing to blow the fuse or why with a loose groud cause blow the fuse boss ?
Any loose or taped connections positive or negative will cause a spark and blow the fuse. All the things that are wired to the battery connections, positive or negative need to be soldered. After you solder the connections the solder (pronounced soder) itself needs to appear shiny. If it doesn’t look shiny then it’s not going to hold for long. Watch a video on how to solder battery terminals. Damn good job finding the problem Brother, you have a lot of common sense ! You killed it !!
Where's that problem on econolines , yours is different, can't find that bolted area.
Thank you thank you thank you!! I was having the same exact issue with my Expedition and you nailed it!! Thanks for your patience and sharing 👍👍
Awesome I appreciate your feedback, I'm glad this video was able to help so many people!
Shout out to YOU. You just demonstrated how and why the human species have evolved. Very good and thank you for this video. I have a 99 Ford Expedition with the same problem, the relay clicking bit not blowing fuses. Two of the relays (one rectangular and one square) next to that blue fuse get hot but sometimes it does starts with hiccups. I am going to check those wires. Thank you so much. 🎉
Thank you for your positive words, it means a lot 🙏🏽
What a rollercoaster of a journey!! Thank you for sharing this entire process. I have and ‘02 Expedition Triton engine that won’t crank and won’t start and you just saved my life! 🤙🏿🫡
Thank God for the ability to research and share our experiences and knowledge. It feels great knowing this video helped you and many others im just getting around to responding to all these amazing comments 🙏🏽
This was like a whodunnit crime drama. Outstanding!
Haha this might be my favorite comment, because that's exactly how it felt in the moment😂
I have the same problem thank you
Way to persevere brother!
Great job men.
Reminds me of me but you have more patience. Great work!
Vídeo que was vwry helpful and more thorough than any seen on RUclips. It would be very professional video If not for the swear words. Otherwise the video is the best I've seem on this topic.
