The primary responsibility of LA Sanitation & Environment is to collect, clean and recycle solid and liquid waste generated by residential, commercial and industrial users in the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. With approximately 3,200 dedicated professional, technical, administrative, craft, clerical and service personnel and a billion dollar operating budget, we protect public health and the environment while enhancing the quality of life in the neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles. Everything we do emphasizes our focus on environmental and social justice as well as gender and racial equity.
