Railfan René
США
Добавлен 14 окт 2022
“Railfan René” is mostly about train spotting in Florida. You will see a fair share of CSX, SunRail, Tri-Rail, Amtrak and Florida East Coast trains.
While working throughout the USA I will try and get trains from different Railways when able.
I will try and keep the videos to a maximum of around 5 minutes in length, there will be exceptions, and the freight trains are cut in pieces to show the engines and the beginning/end of the train.
If you are interested to see the whole freight trains check out @FreightTrainsUncut.
The publishing schedule is every Friday at 3pm ET, for both channels.
Happy viewing railfans, and have an awesome day.

KATO N-Scale GE-ES44C4 - TCS K1D4 DCC Decoder Install
Hi there railfans.
Today something different.
This is a short video on how to install a TCS K1D4 DCC decoder into a Kato N Scale GE ES44C4 engine.
This is the first video for me of this type so let me know what you think I can improve on. I already found out I need a less shiny work surface to reduce glare. Any more points are appreciated. By the way, this video is the first take no cuts.
Bonus points for anyone that recognizes where my accent is from, shouldn't be too difficult...
Thanks for watching and have an awesome rest of your day.

Amtrak and SunRail at Orange City & DeBary FL
Просмотров 222День назад
Hi there railfans. Welcome to another beautiful day in sunny Florida. Today you will see a mix of Amtrak and SunRail trains. The first one I almost missed. I was on my way to position myself to catch the Amtrak Silver Star Southbound and almost at location the SunRail P310 showed up. I needed an extra 20 seconds or so to be in place but it actually gave a nice picture with the green foreground....
Awesome Folkston, GA

Hi there railfans. Today there are 5 trains passing by. First up are the auto racks. I always like to see what carriers the auto racks are from. Do the rail operators share the auto racks because they are always a mix and match from all operators. Who knows the facts here... Pay attention to the third car from the end. This Ozzy person must have bought some white spray cans in bulk... 3472 GE E...
Awesome trains through Folkston, GA

Hi there railfans. Today you will see 5 trains come through Folkston. Folkston is a pretty good place to watch trains although there are some quiet times throughout the day. For me it is the first and fourth trains that stand out. The first is the Herzog ballast train and the fourth with a long nose leading and a nice little GP trailing. The first one is a work train, it's the Herzog ballast tr...
SunRail, Amtrak and DeLand Station

Hi there railfans. In this video it's all SunRail and Amtrak associated with DeLand, FL. The first three trains you will see are shot pin the edge of Orange City and Blue Spring State Park where the trains pass on their way to/from DeLand station just a few minutes from this location. The next two trains are actually at DeLand station with one departure and one arrival. The station is pretty ni...
Side POV on Metra 109 "Union Station - Schiller Park"
Просмотров 56Месяц назад
Hi there railfans. Something different today. I received a request to do a side view ride at some point so here it is. The ride is from just outside Union Station, on the METX 109, right after the conductor came by to check the tickets. Final stop is Schiller Park Station on the NCS Line. Let me know what you think, or if it's worth making more videos like this. Enjoy the ride, thanks for watch...
Glen Ellyn train action and a caboose
Просмотров 318Месяц назад
Hi there railfans. Todays video is all about the trains that come through Glen Ellyn IL. Most trains are the Metra trains on the UP-W Line but since this is a UP track you also have a fair share of UP freight trains. Most of the Metra trains I filmed that day are not in the video since they're all the same. There are a few coming by though just to add them to the experience. The second train in...

I liked the first one very much. In facts they were all great!
@@rickyates3510 thanks Rick. The first one is kind of cool indeed. 👍🏻
The cab shape is different
Bingo, well spotted. Thanks for the comment.
Buen video 😊
@@MarcelosalivaTRENESArg muchas gracias. 👍🏻
Is Glen Ellyn a quiet zone because they don’t honk but I don’t see a no train horn sign
@@DaBigColinTheRailfanman I’m not sure if it’s a quit zone or not. There is no honking for sure. It’s pretty built up there so it wouldn’t surprise me if it is a quiet zone. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻
@@RailfanRene interesting thanks for clarification
Excellent video my friends awesome 😊

Do these trains pass by often?
@@Emilio-fb4em mostly up to 2 in the morning on the way out and they come back in the afternoon early evening. There are occasionally some extra trains but not sure on what schedule they are. It’s not a very busy movement area for sure.
I had planned to shoot the same videos but. . .I had to have a quad by-pass. I'm home now and enjoying your great videos again. Keep up your great work Rene`!! Maybe we'll meet up track side one day in the future. . .
@@rickyates3510 I hope you are doing well Rick and a speedy recovery. We can always arrange a meet if you like, just let me know. Thanks for posting a comment. 👍🏻

@@Epoka_Pociagi 🤣🤣
@@mk3cortinapaul The fact that you don't like trains doesn't have to impose your will on others. If someone likes trains, let them like it, what is your problem?
@@mk3cortinapaul And? Does that mean you didn’t like, subscribe and turned on notifications???? That’s just rude dude… 🤣 thanks for the comment, we have a conversation going. 👍🏻
@Epoka_Pociagi who said I dont like trains. Don't assume. I'm imposing on no one. I was waiting for something to happen. The laughing faces were for you , defending the train vid. You are obviously a train enthusiast. Calm down. You seem to have the problem. 🤭
Love it! interesting to see the difference between frieght in Germany and here in the USA, where i live. ❤🚂
Yeah it sure is nice to see the differences. Most freight trains are now full electric so way more quiet than in the US. Less impressive but better for the surroundings I guess. Also there is no horns being blown. Thanks for the comment.
More updates please
More updates coming soon. The track design has changed, check out the latest video for the updated track design, if not already done so. I just received a new camera and have to raise the highest point of the track a little for the next update. 👍
Would you like to see more of these side view videos? I received a request to do one, let me know in the comments. 👍🏻

I still prefer the sky with the palm trees on each side. I think the new livery looks "generic".

Thank you. Still working on it, more updates to come.
So you can run either direction without changing the polarity of the power input? Alas, I know nothing about model trains. [Edit] I see you've answered this question, thanks!
@@417Dobro yes, DCC is pretty cool. You can also run multiple trains on the same track in different directions when all going forward. Just put the train on the track, select forward and the train goes forward regardless which way the nose is pointing. Thanks for the comment. 👍🏻

Have you ever wondered how they got the locomotives and freight cars to Alaska? The tracks dont connect to any rail lines in North America. Anyways keep up the great work!
