Why I Use SP404MK2 Compression on my MPC ONE to make Sampled Hip Hop
Why I Use SP404MK2 Compression on my MPC ONE to make Sampled Hip Hop .......
A subscriber asked me a great question on one of my videos..... If I use a compressor on the master while I am making a sample based hip hop beat.
I wanted to dive deeper into this topic, and explain why I keep my SP 404 MKII after my MPC ONE in the signal chain. Its a very convenient way to double check, or "Taste Test" your mixes to show you what can be added, or give you a better idea of when it is finished.
Peace to all of my viewers and subscribers, I appreciate y'all. Subscribe for more beatmaking, collabs, tutorials, and much more.

Psychedelic Boom Bap BEATS on MPC 3.0
Просмотров 24721 день назад
How I brought one of my favorite psychedelic boom bap beats from from idea to a completed track. Sometimes the sample may guide you, other times something as simple as a drum loop may spark an idea......This time it was one single sample chop. Using two vastly different records, I tried to build a sense of atmosphere and space within the beat, and ended up with this. If you want to skip through...
Flipping a sample in 20 minutes with AKAI MPC 3.0

Making a beat in 20 minutes on AKAI MPC 3.0..... almost. This is a good way to train yourself to make decisions spontaneously and find quicker ways to create. Using the AKAI MPC 3.0 Arranger, I was able to get a solid, but minimal loop, with a couple of mistakes made here and there. Thanks for watching! for my viewers, do you prefer making beats with samples or make melodies from scratch?
😎👌🏽🔥🔥
Thanks bro, peep the next video I break down one of the beats we used 👊
Thanks for watching! I appreciate all my early supporters 👊 What do you guys think of the update so far?
still really iffy about this whole MPC 3 thing but this video makes it a lot less daunting 😅
I get it, not everyone has positive things to say about it. Way I see it, if you come from a daw it will feel way more familiar, and if you’ve been using the old software it’s really easy to get used to. It looks more daunting than it is!
Very clever the hihat offset technique !!
@@flowmobeats thanks man! I come from using older shit like the SP 404 and MPC 1K/2.5k so some of those habits carried over More to come, I appreciate you tapping in!
RUclips algorithm for the win. Great video and dope beat! Instant sub
I appreciate you man! More to come very soon!
that drum
Thanks man, I tried to make it feel chaotic without adding too much
so good!
Thanks for watching man!
Are you using a compressor on the master channel while making the beat? And if so, why?
Basically, I have everything running through the sp, which goes into my Apollo, and I can quickly turn sp 303 compression on and off I do this to see if what I have currently is occupying enough space in the mix and it gives you a better idea of where to add layers/ how to mix the level of the drums, I think I’ll make a vid about this to go into more detail about the whole channel and recording it into ableton, great question!
@ looking forward for the vid!
I found gold. Good channel, keep up the good work ✌️
Thanks for tapping in bro 👊
