The thing I have come to realise in my several years of life is that Johnny Depp does not just play his characters. He simply is his characters. He is Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, The Mad Hatter, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, and all the many other characters he has played. He literally transforms into them and he never ceases to amaze me. Jonny depp plays all these weirdos and creatures in films. But I think he has DID- dissociative identity disorder. Because I believe the characters he plays aren’t really characters at all but different elements of his extremely warped personality. He was once a beautiful man and if you watch videos of him he knew he was. However, he was abused by his mother as a child and made to feel worthless. I think he can’t relate to the beauty- so he wants people to see the mess- that he believes he truly is. Hence all the odd make up and characters he plays…….. he wants the monster he feels he is inside- the weird, eccentric, warped creature- to also be seen on the outside. Instead of that beautiful face he used to have in his youth!!!! …… I love psychology of the mind- love it !!!
