Most terrifying episode tbf
Homelander didn't deserve revenge, but John absolutely deserved justice.
Homelander never really massacres anyone that has courage to stand up to him. This scene explains a bit
Abortion at 6 weeks is fine, it’s the size of a grain of rice and obviously no sentience
Hey it’s Earl Hickey’s mom.
You notice how she immediately knew the fear she should feel going towards that room… it’s funny because later she tries to pretend like it’s just a room, but Homelander remembers everything and she remembers too
Watching that smile of overconfidence fade to realization and fury is by far one of the scariest things about him.
That’s Earl Hickey’s mom
I think theres something wrong with me , i find homelander fascinating and incredibly entertaining. It makes me want to read the comics
Trauma in childhood usually creates personality issues like 99% of the time. Hence why 1 in 5 adults today have boarder line(some traits) to full on narcissistic personality disorder. Seriously if our species could truly eliminate most childhood trauma issues, the world at large would be 10x better from that alone. The writers just take this concept in the opposite direction. Let make child trauma 10x worse and add super powers to the mix, to see how bad the world would be. You get narcissistic personality with dives into full on sociopathic behavior that has no limits due to his powers.
God, I can relate to Homelander. And I understand when I was a kid, I was surround by people like this, using psychology to control me like I was some dog to be TRAINED and USED! You mother beats you because YOU did something wrong, not because she's INSANE! And you can't escape her, we will always give you back to her! I've always dreamed of having superpowers and I can't promise I wouldn't do this because I'm human, and I firmly believe you won't know how you behave in any given scenario until it actually happens.
I love how Hughies completely distraught at how awful killing feels. Shows how much of a good person he is. hughie like butcher believes sometimes violence is a necessary decision the difference is you can see hughie genuinely loses a part of his soul everytime. Where as homelander unfortunately he was never even given the chance to have a soul. His mind is too far damaged to ever change. And he doesn’t just accepts it. He embraces it.
Hughie is numb to it now. He understands that to fight a war you cant pussyfoot and prance around it. You have dig your arms in and grope about the guts of it! Because thats how you bloody well win.
I think we just witnessed a more terrifying version of Homelander be born.
I don’t like seeing Hughie kill people. It’s like Butcher rubbing off on Hughie instead of Hughie rubbing off on Butcher.
I mean cuz that’s what happening they both know they’re both capable of necessary changes to themselves like violence
They both rubbed off on each other. Pause
Savage, Butchers influence is paying off, but that might be a bad thing.
So nothing is natural with Homelander , even his psychological issues were manufactured.
Homelander should of been brought up and raised like a normal child, but was instead raised in an environment completely apathetic to him and only truly capable of inflicting suffering upon him via his human captors; it was inevitable that he would become an apathetic psychopath with a total disdain for humans. To see Barbara completely disconnect herself and everyone else from the responsibility of raising Homelander like a normal child and even revel in the manipulative tactics used to raise him whilst simultaneously acting like HE was the monster in the scenario and that they were just in treating him the way that they did when he was just a child that THEY biogenetically engineered into a supe just because THEY wanted to is honestly more sickening than some things he has done himself.
Hughie body count: Translucent Vought Henchman Russian Soldier Shining Light Member
Goodjob keeping count
@@lastsigil7241 Thanks!
Is funny that Hughie won a RPG-like fight since he's the nerdy one lol
And why we cant see that brutal scene? Meh
imagination is far better.
2:57 That broken smile. He is pure now, like marble. Pure evil.
thats the most genuine smile he's made too
use it or lose it
I mean .., no one would be able to get hard in that situation lmfao
Am I the only one that feels like the set designers could have put more work into the gore? I don't NEED, or honestly want, to see people being ripped apart, but when I pause the scene to try and discern what happened, it's really annoying that I can't tell what's what aside from the blood splatters and one or two limbs. I can see what? Three hands/arms, a head, and what I assume are two mangled torsos?
Homie probably tore them apart with his bare hands
Butcher turning into VENOM confirmed! Lets gooooo!
When Homie was talking with Barbara, there was a small window where his back was turned. They could've used that time to run away. Sure Homelander might've hear them try to escape but it's worth a shot anyways.
They were too scared to even speak bruh😭😭
By the time they even got in the elevator hed have lasered them down
He would have heard them leaving with his super hearing
That description of Homelander's birth is insanity. He really is a creature out of myth.
Homelander acknowledged that everyone except for Frank, Marty and Barbara are new hires. Homelander knows right from wrong, and commits atrocities without remorse.
i doubt that these other people would've said anything it either, there is a reason why they are here and not working at vought Tower, they are not innocent
@@aarons1705 im pretty sure the new hires didnt know (hence "new hires")
@@apexcrypto01 i still doubt that their innocent, vought wouldn't let some random people in this, they are part of this whole thing as well
@@apexcrypto01 they're working in the same lab with all the same systems still functioning as intended. You're telling me these new hires haven't done similar experiments to others in the meantime?
my favorite ep & favorite scene by far
1:31 - 2:28 Those laughs were perfect. Perfect. Everything down to the last, minute details.
Suck they didn't show homelander in killing
too low budget
Kimikos healing capabilities are insane
Yeah I thought that at least someone would have to place her parts together lol. Her healing factor is even faster than Deadpool's.
You gotta wonder why homelander hasn’t killed butcher, or his son, or this lady here. He never kills people who are logical and who aren’t really afraid of him. He hates the cattle, but respects the real “humans” because he wants to be one
Homelander>>>Scarlet witch Joker & Eric Cartman. Sorry Joker but you deserved for died than Thanos
So homelander knows that what the scientists are doing to him before was wrong because he was still a child, means, homelander knows what's right and wrong but chooses to still do wrong things lmao
Exactly so I don't feel bad for him
@@bobbywilliams4438he chooses to do wrong things because he was procured to believe that he was above right and wrong when it came to regular humans and supes below him, but when he encounters someone he has a connection with on a human level, all of his morals suddenly come back
@@prod.superior5434 I still don't feel bad for him..
@@prod.superior5434you can feel bad for John, not homelander.
@@DylanLangler-so1pg I can feel bad for homelander also because he’s the product of mental manipulation, torture and abuse. They literally did everything they could to make him evil
Imagine he kills ryan at the last episode
2:25 The Exact Moment Homelander Became Joker
1:38 her smirk seems to hint that she still think she has some control over him by emotionally manipulating him. 2:30 not smirking anymore huh?
She might just be smirking the same way stan mocks him for trying to act special when in his eyes hes pathetic
Nah she says that no matter what happens to them that programming will still be around. Which will probably come into play with Homelanders downfall
I like how Homie spared Barbara, there seems to be a pattern where he doesn't kill people who were honest to him and those who dared to talk his ego down. Though it seems like he tormented her anyway.
he didn’t spare her tho. he left her there to starve
@@abrothewarrior98 I think so but, I don't know. Homie isn't the one who torments for long term. I think he just left her there traumatized after brutally killing her co-workers. That's why she just stood there.
@@032_m.alfathcirrus5 if you look at the door after he kills everyone, its lasered shut. He left her to starve alongside her peer's corpses.
@@aladsaf Ah, I was wrong then. Makes me wonder what he'll do to Stan Edgar.
@@032_m.alfathcirrus5 I still don’t believe he’ll kill Stan because Stan will still see him as a pathetic loser who has no business holding that much power. So if he kills Stan then Stan wins.
This thin in butcher's head is probably what killed Ezekiel and i'm100% sure that after Billy injected the V in his arm the cancer became alive and it started to draining all v from butchers body into him and now Billy has alive supcancer that is able to kill victor numan.
"Your life is literally in your hands" 💀💀💀
Why did Vought create super freaks they could never possibly control??? Such dumbasses
this is low-key one of the best plot twists in the show, that they didn't actually have the power to hold him, and that he always had the power to leave but didn't.
Yep and people call this cliche.
I feel like most ppl always knew this bc most ppl comment that he’s a mentally unstable man child
@@032_m.alfathcirrus5 In my opinion, we're getting a new wave of young armchair critics that think the thing they loved has somehow gone downhill, rather than the truth: they're just becoming jaded by adulthood and find complaints in everything. It's literally as strong and as weak a show as it ever was. Nothing more, nothing less. Still great though. To a large degree, it's the people that have changed. They don't trust corporate-funded productions as much as they used to. And I get it to an extent, not being into that system, but it's really no different than it has been going on a century.
I mean they were making him the strongest supe ever so that makes sense with his power but couldn't leave because he didn't wanna disappoint them. He sought their approval that's so like Homelander
Cliché bs, as usual
Then, why are you here?
What did you want him to do instead, Mr anime profile pic?
care to elaborate?
Elaborate or this is just a scuffed attempt at rage bait
Go watch yo trash weeb shows instead 💀 ain’t no one askin you to b here
Dude, sage is on an entire nother fkn level.
I don’t understand why Vought created these super freaks knowing they have NO ACTUAL CONTROL over them. From the very first Compound V test subject, they fucked up.
That's probably the point of stories like this. The hubris of people who, because they can afford to do whatever they want, think they can get exactly what they want. But they get something far worst anyway.
money
Greed is the root of all evil
Id say its rooted in reality, how many times do we actually have control over things? Control is just an illusion cause, to put it into perspective, think of a beaten dog. The dog will fear and obey a human cause its afraid of it, its been taught to obey and it does despite it being able to kill us. Or think of a dictator, a man who does the worst of humanity in a position of power, his guards wont stop him because he'll have them killed by other guards who don't do anything, he gives positions of power as a reward to other men who will obey him, but its all rooted in the illusion of control. Why would these people obey such a man when all it takes to stop him is a bullet? Cause everyones been taught that if they obey good things happen, if not then they get hurt. So its rather a realistic approach id say
You heard about nukes ?
Now we know why he was mad at the deep and a train for not talking back to him. 0:28
Exactly what I was thinking
This also helps explain why Homelander didn't just kill Butcher every chance he got. He likes that Butcher stands up to him when Homelander does whats wrong
@@woomyboy98He respects people with backbone. But the problem is that he can literally detect wether you’re afraid of him or not and that gives him the OK in his mind to abuse you
I really wish they showed Homelander killing everyone in front of Barbra that would’ve been the cherry on top for this episode
I think it hits harder just seeing the blood and corpses
Same. Sometimes less is more, like what the Alien did to Lambert in Alien, they didn’t show anything as it’s supposed to keep the audiences scared about the unknown. But sometimes it’s just better if they show a brutal bloodbath, it fits better in this context.
Same here but imagine the money it would have cost for that one scene sadly they can only do so much with a limited budget
I was hoping they would have shown him taking out the infrastructure cameras security phone lines when he first entered the building that had to have been a blood bath
@@Nicholas_Chen_ have we ever seen him get this dirty he always just lasers people and moves on but he *enjoyed* this
Who thinks Butcher is not dying but turning into a monster ?
That would be sick as fukkk
Ora inside at butcher where’s a monster
Anthony Starr truly owned that role, what an incredible performance
"I don't need any of it any more" But he does. He's going to kill his son, isn't he? When Ryan finally rejects him.
nah dude dont say that 😭
