    As an Alaskan, this reconfirms that I will Never take a cruise. I take my personal boat down Gastineau Channel and these ships are inconsiderate with the wakes they produce nearly sinking my boat. It would be nice if they had a no wake zone for these floating cities. I travel up Tracy/Endicott and come around a corner in my small 20 foot boat and once again there is a giant wake nearly swamping me. Come on, be considerate. Pretty unfriendly and dangerous to others for Disney.

    • @jjma
      @jjma 6 дней назад

      Really sorry to hear about your experience with the bigger ships. Alaska has a stunning landscape, unlike any other in the US. As someone from the East coast, this trip was an incredible privilege to see the raw nature of this young state. My hope is that everyone would have the opportunity to be able to experience and truly appreciate Alaska, however I am also a firm believer that it should never be at the expense of the locals. Hopefully the state authorities and the cruise companies can work out something that would be fair. You live in an amazing state, and I would never advocate for disruptions to occur like that.

I've never done it myself though. Otherwise, the entire cruise schedule will be available on the DCL app upon connecting to the ship's wifi. There you will see the schedule for all of the shows for the week, along with the menus and dining table assignments for the entire week. I hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!!

    • @jjma
      @jjma 22 дня назад

      We didn't do a Disney excursion for this port. What we ended up doing was hiring a personal driver at the port and he drove us up the coast. There are a bunch of people at the cruise port who will offer their rates. The merchandise shops are all local private businesses that work together with the drivers, so the shop stops on the side of the road will be a part of the trip if you end up doing this.

It was a Port Adventure booked through Disney though. Re: Panama Canal Crossing - the best spot to view is the very front on deck 10. People will start showing up at around 5am to get a good spot. Even if you don't manage to get the front, anywhere on deck 10 has a great view of the canal. Just be sure to WEAR sunscreen! Many people including myself got sunburned from that day!!

    all plane rides were included in this package or you paid them separately. how much were your cruise package and plane rides

    • @jjma
      @jjma 22 дня назад

      Hi! The plane rides were not included in the base fare. Those excursions are operated by third party companies, and Disney will get allocations for guests to purchase those excursions. - 5 Glacier Plane Ride Juneau - $369 USD per person - Taku Glacier Helicopter + Airboat - $939 USD per person - Misty Fjords Seaplane - $569 USD per person The excursions in Alaska are very expensive due to high insurance costs of operating the airplanes/helicopters.

    What did you think about the excursion in Florence and Pisa LV49? We are thinking about that one too. Did you remember how long it was ?

    • @jjma
      @jjma 26 дней назад

      That excursion was quite long. the drive to Florence from Livorno is almost 2 hours. And then the drive to Pisa was also well over an hour. Majority of the time is spent in Florence walking the city while in Pisa, the leaning tower is a relatively isolated landmark (not much else to see around town). If I recall I think it was around 8-9hrs total. The port adventure did not cover any admission to go inside any of the buildings as there isn’t enough time otherwise. but I’d say for a first timer, I was more than satisfied with the items we hit, given the limited time we had. I hope this helps!
