I really enjoyed watching your video you seem to be pretty knowledgeable. and taking your time and explaining as you go. I've got a question hopefully you have a solution to my problem. I have a John Deere 214 and I have trouble starting it it turns over but it takes quite a few tries before it will start.

and fyi the one hydro lever has a detent for "float" when using a blade or snowblower it also had side covers for the engine that you may or may not have ... more then likly will have to be modded to fit the new engine

The inside lever has a float position.

Contact points are set for 20in feeler gage spark plug is gap for 25 inch gap.😊

For a Kawasaki it has been running very rich. In my experience I can see the insulator on Kawasaki's and Honda's.

One of the pulleys is undersized or near the minimum limit for that drive belt. I don't see delamination I see compression blow out. Something like a Gates XL belt addresses that issue. A high durometer belt exacerbates the problem. 1/2" belt you want a 5" or greater diameter pulley. Guess we will find out if the Aramid makes a difference. It should have better heat resistance so I expect an improvement.

The back panel on that mower is removable , at least it was on my mower.

I had one and never cared for it. I still have the plastic dump tray. The engine was no bigger than my walk behind self propelled. Probably okay if you don't have much lawn.

I know you said you use the 316 for snowblowing, how come you don’t have the side panels on for the cooling? Just curious, not trying to “bust your chops”.

I have that pump! Its identical. Ive done strip downs and rebuilds multiple times on it,pretty much the same way you did it. These particular pumps come new with a filter on the intake side but it makes it a bitch to prime the pump so they tend to get thrown away. A wee tip buddy,giving the air filter a realy good clean will make a huge differance to the way it runs and idles. Dosnt take much dust and debris to restrict airflow enough to throw it out of tune and run on the rich side,but otherwise Realy good job well done. Thats a like and subscribe from me.

Only China would make a knock off Honda and call it a Sterling Engine. At this point they have to be trolling us.

Good job on the axle replacement, really thorough. My youngest son did that to his 06 Grizzly a few years ago. I have a 01 Kodiak that I'm wanting to get running. A few years ago it was ran by someone and it overheated. In short, I couldn't get it to start. I tore into it a little, but was unable to figure out what the problem was. My son's think it could be the compression release and or the stator or CDI. What do you think? Thanks

It’s just smart to remove cover and pressure wash engine every spring and once during season 😊😊😊

Well at least the gas tank can be ran out of gas so it won't be rusted and you get a full run time by using all the gas

Nice! That’s a Cooper Cyclo-Mo 18 rebranded for Firestone, 1956 or 57 going by the engine design (it changed a bit in ‘58). Firestone used to sell mowers and other stuff in their tire stores for some reason, I’ve seen later Firestone branded mowers from the late 60’s too.

You had more patience than I would have had, pulling on that cord over and over and over again. But it paid off for you. Enjoyable video.
