Great job Karl!!
I have concrete floors, how do I attach the shims and track to that?
Is it possible to buy the tool alone? I have the flooring but never got the tool.
The shims are exactly the same, there is no high shim in the package.
My kit has metal track and does not fit tight with reducer
My shim does not give options only a black one
Quarter round? Why
This is sucks a bad how to video. You want to cut it as tight as possible so you have to put as little caulk as possible. And she doesn’t explain how the width of the steps are never even from front to back. This is such a bad how to. You want to get these as tight as possible. You also want to use a pin nail gun so you can’t see them. This woman has no idea and is misleading all of you and when you actually go to try this you will be pulling your hair out. Get a stair jig to get the exact size of the steps.
This shows he knows nothing. You don’t need to leave any expansion gap since you’re gluing the steps. You want the plank as tight as possible to the ends. That is why they make a stair jig. Moron!!!!!
First time I’ve ever seen an installer working in a dress collar shirt.
Wat size are the nails?? & Wat gauge is the drill you are using 16 or 15??
For someone who is doing or showing how to install new products does not seem to smart. First of all why would you use a hammer and not a rubber mallet to tap it in. Instead of hitting it with a hammer common sense tells you why would you use that and risk denting or marking that up.
That’s one lousy joint seam pal. Better off using white caulk it would blend better. What are your plans for the cannon ball holes you blew into that 1/4 by using a 18 gauge nail gun instead of a 23 gauge pin nail headless gun. I would hate to see your quality of work on display.
Dam 🤡 how about using a pin nail gun. Instead of blowing holes through it with a 18 gauge gun you would use for baseboards b
Uh, there is no "taller shim"? I have your Charcoal LVP shims and they are both identical, and a grey color instead of the beige in the video. Also you guys said it fits 2-8mm thick LVP then go on to exclude 6.5mm thick in your T-molding section.
It would be helpful to see the gap BEFORE you put anything in there. I didn't know how big of a gap to leave between 2 rooms so now the track doesn't fit because the gap is too narrow. The video is helpful because the directions in the package are minimal.
Can't screw into concrete flooring!!
I would like to see how to miter around a floor level tile fireplace hearth.
What tool is being used to remove the unnecessary transitions? Ours didn’t come with proper instruction or support to alter
For transition between two hard surfaces, a cross sectional look on the number of shins ( 0 to 2) to use will be very helpful.
Hi, We will make sure to relay that to the team so it can be included in future content we release!
For the landing are you using the same stair treads and then attaching/laying down the laminate flooring to match. Or is there another product for the landing nose?
Hi, We use the overlap stair nose (www.flooringaccessories.com/discover/overlap-stair-noses) and then matching flooring to make the landing. There is a feature on our website that enables you to find flooring accessories that match your current flooring. Make sure to check it out!
Bummer, the link in your description does not work. Just thought you'd like to know! So there is no link to purchase, which I was going to go do.
Hi! Thank you for letting us know, the link has been updated!
Do you have a cross section look at where the carpet is supposed to be? I’m struggling with the carpet transition. The carpet is much higher than the flooring
Hi, you can reach our technical services team at 800-325-7062 or contact us through the contact form on our website: www.flooringaccessories.com/contact-us.
I used the 5 in 1 and the base was metal and the t-part was an engineered wood. Would like to see how to use the kit to install an uneven transition.
We will definitely share that with the marketing team!

Would you just cut another piece of laminate to lock into the back side of that piece on the tread?

Hello there i just purchased simple solutions wet protect waterproof quarter rounds mounding, questions do we remove the white wrapping from the quarter rounds because some are peeling, but the white wrapping is really hard to remove please let me know thanks.
Hello! The white wrapping on the Waterproof Quarter Round is not meant to be removed, as it serves as a decorative paper for the product. Please do not attempt to peel it off, as it is an integral part of the design. Thanks!
How did he handle that landing?
Great question, we recommend using one of our color matched overlap stair noses! Our overlap stair noses provide a seamless transition and a polished finish to your staircase project and landings.
Like a pro!
Roy your a good man. Thanks for all the work you put into helping the flooring industry!
@craiggarrison no one will let you talk about how much the retailers pay bc that will go against them and against the whole industry.
Maybe retailers should pay more. There is no crisis except for a pay crisis. Young people today don't want to work for bread crumbs
It's all about incentive. Being involved in a trade that puts an installer in a position of only having so many jobs in them from the time they start their career, every single job must be profitable. I could talk about this topic for hours. The entire mindset of the consumer and the folks offering up the work needs to be changed. Once the money part changes everything eles will follow. Pay right and young people will become interested. Being payed right also means doing it right. Thankfully the industry is getting that part right with things like CFI and people like PJ Arthur building a school. If a person in San Diego is only getting $ 7.00 bucks a yard to install carpet, they are then forced to turn their business model from one of quality to volume. That's where poor quality roots from. Change the mindset from speed make one guy better than another, to quality.
I grew up around flooring installation. Scrap boy at 5, glued myself into a bath tub at 8, drove a van at 10. I spent 15 years of my life learning and working full time doing flooring installation. I have a doctorate in carpet. And knowledge in installing pretty much every flooring material. I’ll be 34 this year. As of a month ago. I’m sitting at a sales desk. Trying to learn something new that has some kind of future/benefits/retirement. Other then broke and broke down body. As a flooring installer. You’re constantly fighting everyday for money from stores and people. And since you’re claiming it’s the backbone of the industry. The rates should match that. Also, the guys that are slapping stuff on the floor and bumping and running. Are making the same money as the installers with pride who take the extra time to do work correctly. It’s feast or famine. I’ve been around every scenario in the flooring game. I took the time to learn it. And for what? Low wages and new knees at 40/50 Who’s gonna pay for that? We have no benefits. Got tired of climbing the mountain everyday by myself. I would gladly teach anybody who showed initiative to learn. However nobody is willing to put the time in to learn. The labor shortage will get worse, and more people will leave the industry. I have some ideas.
You nailed it brother. There is no financial incentive for people to break their body's for just enough to keep your business going but no profit. If someone would be willing to put my on a stage to talk about the pricing in the industry I could talk about for as long as they would let me.
Agreed wholeheartedly, & it's great to see a manufacturer giant in our industry, like Mohawk, be a catalyst for the craftsmen who install their products daily
Love it ! I am very interested in involvement.
