Stunning roses garden!

So sorry to hear of Seanie’s passing. He was rescued and happy, and knew love and happiness, and gave them in kind. What a gift, to be able to give and receive, both for Seanie and Jay’s family. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Lovely roses from Koredes parfuma collection. Which one is more prolific out of two, adorable parfuma or porcelain parfuma? I had to dig out summer romance rose as it bloomed once only ( spring 24) and lost all the foilage by July/Aug 24.

Don’t need music.. because i go deep into “ rose mood “ trance & music is disturbing.. With roses like this .. who needs music?

why would they advertise 'Gabriel Oak' as healthy when it evidently looks messy shite in their own show garden??

A very interesting video Lin. You say you're still learning - aren't we all, especially with roses. I think every one is different. You have to get to know them and try different approaches to them. Sometimes they forgive mistakes, sometimes not. Most times they're very forgiving. Nice that you share your experiences. Now you've lit the blue touch paper we await next years show. Cheers!

You're trying to upset me Lin - I gave away my Lady Marmalade recently to make space for roses that I fancied more. Lady M.'s blooms just didn't do it for me. The new owner reports that it has flowered magnificently - but it did have vicious thorns! Your bare roots don't seem to have drowned in that water and in fact are looking very healthy, so your experience and Jay Jay's similar experience that he mentions here answer a question that I was asking myself, since I have a new bare root Sweet Honey but need to rearrange my current SHs before I can plant it, and of course the old Sweet Honeys just go on producing flowers so I can't move them yet and the new bare root can't go in the ground yet. I am just beginning to plant cuttings - a bit late probably but like you it's just for fun - I'll probably have to give away any that may succeed. I've already started cutting my roses back for the winter, but am still hopeful for a few of them which are still covered in healthy foliage with some buds on them.

Last year when I done my back I left a bare root in water for a couple of months and it was fine. But obviously not to be repeated in a hurry 😂. Couple of nice additions there Lin :)

Thanks for the tour Lin, I find it very helpful to see how the roses look at this time of year, some still have very healthy foliage, some still blooming (here my first year Desdemonas have stopped but some are still pushing new growth and flowers. Penelope Lively has been my "rose of the year", very impressive ! I wonder if next year's new rose could be a climber after watching that big hole, how great would that be ?! I wonder when was the last time they released one.

Great stuff Lin. The size of them holes! I think it was Dilly who filmed it last year and again huge holes dug in the ground where roses had once been to plant new roses. I may be wrong but I’m sure this is to prevent rose replant disease. They don’t bother with the cardboard box trick just excavate all the old soil entirely and new soil goes down. Glad you had a lovely visit. :)

Thanks for the look around Lin, I hope you had a lovely time. We were there in September and apart from a couple of people browsing in the shop we were on our own too. Feels very different to the busy times in June and July doesn't it?

Certainly a very worthwhile video Lin. We've heard of 'Alice in Wonderland' but I think we've now got 'Lin in Wonderland'.

It's so deserted, Lin. You should have told us you were going - we could have filled the place up with rose-obsessed RUclipsrs and had a party! It's interesting to see which roses are still doing well this late in the year - it makes me think perhaps I should have driven up there and personally chosen some strong, established potted roses I liked rather than order pot-luck bareroots. But to be fair, DA bareroots haven't let me down in the past.

Hello guys! I did enjoy this video, lovely to hear from both of you. Ken is quite good on collecting rare roses and good for you Lin, that’s a funny way to get the mega chunky stems. I‘ll be excited to see the flowers in summer 2025. I wonder how my garden looks now, still in the Philippines, crazy hot weather.🌞🌹

Can't wait to see them in flower. I'm a rose lover as well and I have a David Hockney rose. I started a youtube channel called The Rose Enthusiast where I made a video about that beautiful rose.

Well, I can see where the, 'Greenfingers' comes from. Michaelmas Dasies I just love and the 'Monch' is supposed to be a really lovely one that flowers for a long time. I guess we'll see in due course. I have M. Dasies but I've learnt something about them today that I didn't know so thanks for that Lin. Still lots to keep us all busy in the garden at the moment. My Olivia Austin rose was a gift two years ago and she is huge! Blooms lovely blooms! She is in the ground! Strawberry hill climbs against my brick house and is astounding now! Puts on quite a show in May here in Georgia USA We have planted 6 princess Charlene of Monaco along our horses fence! 6’ tall but very leggy! Beautiful Free flowering! Lovely scent! We have over 200 + roses . We can’t buy harkness roses here in the USA unfortunately! Lovely video! Thank you for sharing.
