As an actual traveller(Scottish)I find this song silly and stupid. I'm 44,openly gay and a historian. Second name McAllister. I grew up in camps mostly in the Welsh countryside,sometimes parts of England and so on(my mum was smart,she got my dad to get a house for the winter and to rent out in summer....ahhh,the joys of flushing toilets). Anyway,throughout my entire life I never saw violence on a single traveller camp,what I experienced was poor folk trying to make an honest living,mostly potato picking. The caravans were small and second hand,no new cars or girls wearing daft clothes,they dressed the same as the men,which is why I hate those fake documentary series with actors in them. Never saw it heard of bare knuckle fighting(historically all communities including travellers,factories,mining towns had bare knuckle fighters but that tradition pretty much died out everywhere inter war). I never experienced racism,the local pubs were always welcoming. I was raised to be a critical thinker,my grandparents and parents taught me to read and despise any claim,like religion,that had no proof. Of course that's MY experience of life as a traveller,other folk may have experienced different things. But as a medieval military historian I want you to beware of the "bullfrog effect",it's not that deliberate lies are told,folk just convince themselves different. My dad was well known,he was a real hard man...but not violent. He only used violence to protect the family and it was NEVER over being travellers.

That was Eyre Sq before it was destroyed??. if it is, the question is what was wrong with it that they had to destroy it? Same happened in Tullamore, O Connor Sq. Ruined and nobody was allowed to criticise it. Same happened in Clara, and now it is like an obstacle course. Moate, Athlone, Mullingar. Every bloody town in the country vandalised

Jaysus Eyre Square looked much cleaner back then. Now it's a dirty kip. The only positive change I can see in the video is the pedestrianization of shop street. I couldn't imagine attempting to walk on that narrow footpath and keep wary of cars from both ways.!

Pretty lame that you disabled comments for the video you uploaded about Travis Walton. Since you disabled the comments, I’ll just leave mine here: Why would he have gone on that show if he was lying? Seriously why would a man who is lying go on a public show, and risk the humiliation if he was infact truly lying? Why are all of his co workers still not only sticking to their stories, but also turning down money offered to them to say the event was faked? Not to mention, they still get emotional over the event when they speak of it. Why have Travis and his co workers all passed polygraphs in the past if it’s all a lie?
