@@Lalitahire86 no if you don’t have a teaching degree or a 3 year diploma. But you can study one year graduate diploma in NZ and then apply for the teacher registration. While you are studying, you could easily get day a to day relieving job, since you have overseas teaching experience. Hope this helps.

Teaching practicum means, when you were on training, the details of your supervised teaching. I am not sure if they want your teaching practicum details. Check, NZQA first to get your qualifications approved. My other videos have more information. Education Council NZ wants the NZQA assessment of your qualifications.

@@TravelalongNZ I applied for NZQA and waiting for my results. Meanwhile I’m looking for registration details. I dont have education degree, therefore I don’t have teaching practice certificate or teaching training. At this time of situation what can I upload for this? Do they accept diploma for teacher training?

@@hasichani9743 I think it's waste of money if you applied for NZQA assessment when you don't have a degree. They will say your qualification is not compatible. Do you have a 3 year degree diploma of teaching?

@@hasichani9743 perhaps 2 qualifications together, they might consider it.

You may get teacher registration and it is difficult to say if you are getting it or not. It’s the decision of the teacher’s council. Since you have BEd, you can check with NZQA if your qualification is compatible to a NZ one. To get a job, you need both teacher registration and an approved qualification. Even if they offer you teacher registration, it’s not enough to get a job.

You could work as a release teacher with your teacher registration if you are already in New Zealand.

@@TravelalongNZ thanks for replying I have checked with NZQA I got level 9 for masters Level 7 for bachelors Level 7 Graduate diploma for B.Ed, but they have mentioned that I am not eligible to teach primary and secondary here . They have not mentioned anything about ECE Teaching council suggested me to go for discretionary pathways .

@@TravelalongNZ yes I am already in New Zealand but I have not applied yet through discretionary. I believe you are telling that if you may get registration after b.Ed, it’s not confirm that I would get job or not ? But why so ? I couldn’t get it .

If you are in New Zealand you can apply for ECE jobs or once you get teacher registration relieving at schools perhaps. Check the education gazette, seek website or Trademe. Can you message me through Travelalong FB page.

Hi Maheshi, thanks for the comment. You will have to apply for a graduate diploma of teaching to get a teaching job. Unfortunately doing masters degree won’t qualify you as a teacher.

But if you have a masters degree in commerce you may get a different job.

Hi sorry, I don't have it since I did it about 15 years ago. Google it and you may find many of those.

I had a few certificates attending seminars and workshops. Everything should be translated to English. I also sent proof for extra curricular activities such as invitations with my name (I was as the organiser of English Day), anything that you can prove as a teacher who is hardworking and committed.

There is a graduate diploma, it’s valid. But you can do it if you already have a degree. It’s a bridging course. You can’t register as a teacher without a 3 year ECE degree or a graduate diploma.

Thanks for the comment. Actually there are many opportunities and I myself started as an ECE relief teacher/reliever. Then I got a scholarship to complete a postgrad in specialist teaching. I was once an early intervention teacher and now I am a specialist teacher. My first job in NZ was a teacher aide in a special school. Relief teaching in preschools are better than in a school. Watch my other videos. First you need to get your qualifications assessed by NZQA. This is the best time to apply since the shortage of teachers are very high. You cannot teach in schools without a NZ degree/diploma but you can in ECE.

If you have done your degree in English medium, you may not have to do IELTS. Send an email to New Zealand teaching council and check. There are many vacancies now for overseas trained primary or ECE teachers in the ECE sector. Try www.trademe.co.nz or www.seek.co.nz for jobs.

First, get the qualification assessed by the NZQA. If they say it’s compatible you can apply for an ECE position. Ideally, if you choose to study a graduate diploma in primary or ECE teaching, you can get a job really easily. At the same time try applying for ECE jobs to see if they give you a job offer. There are so many relief and permanent positions available at the moment. Also you need IELTS 7 for each category to be registered as a teacher.

Im from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. I have a bachelor degree in early childhood education assessed as level 7 by NZQA but says it doesn't meet the core knowledge of a initial new zealand teacher education, so i hv to apply through the discretionary pathway.

Those degrees are not accepted as teaching degrees unfortunately. Try studying a graduate diploma and remember, you need to have IELTS score 7 each category.

Masters degree doesn't allow you to be a teacher. Do the graduate diploma. If you come to do the Masters degree, it will be difficult to get a permanent job. Casual teaching is available but think about your ultimate goal. But there is a plus side. When you apply PR, you will get more points. Especially if you are young and have a partner.
