PGNE student Matt’s big day!
Просмотров 167Год назад
PGNE student and new mountain flying Matt had a big day! His previous best was 10 minutes and 50’ of elevation gain… then PGNE guided him to 6,000’ for 4,000 feet of altitude gain(!) and he flew for over an hour before we called it a win and found sinking air to get him safely on the ground! What a day!

Harness setup for Glider Sim VR flight instruction
Просмотров 8 тыс.2 года назад
Alek Jadkowski from Paraglide New England explains how for $80 he created a simple hanging simulator for use with Glider Sim VR edition. Combined with a $300 Oculus Quest 2, this is an extremely affordable, practical simulator that all pilots can use to train their skills at home between IRL flying sessions.

You mention "The pulleys are spread so that they mirror the spread of a normal paradlider." Can you tell me what exactly is the distance between the two pulleys? I plan to set up a harness simulator in order to set up (adjust) my harness properly for the best balance.
Where and when was this?! Beautiful
I'm going back for two weeks in November. Buzzin' those Dunes Domestica in Palo Buque. On glide over Iquique. Playing on the Dragon. I love it there.
Please help me - I should constantly push the button to grab brakes. How can I avoid this? Thank you!
Rubber band?
@@CarlMarvinyes I did it ☺
Is there a way to set up speed bar?
A intenção..é servir como..algo pra atrair pro esporte..
Is that legal? Should be til sunset after lifts are off
Amazing! <3
how can this be called practicing? no feedback on the brakes, no feedback on your ass, unrealistic air to fly trough (no turbulences). This wont make you a better pilot unless maybe before you get your license as you mentioned. More like a fun game than something that makes you a better pilot! Would love to see a sim with motors at the end of the risers and brakes to simulate feedback but i think that would be very hard to simulate correctly. Maybe for acro flying this could be used to learn the timing of things but i dont know if the simulator is advanced enough to show you what happens when you do it wrong.
Yes I’ve tried it and agree at this point. It’s exciting to see development in the space, I really want this to work! But I think there still needs to be lots of focus on the physics in the sim, specifically in how the wing itself is modelled. Currently it’s far too rigid and I can burry the breaks and the wing barely reacts - stall characteristics are way off and responsiveness seems music too slow compared to reality. I’d love to see how this develops
find a ridge. lol
You guys rock 🎸
I love this video so much. It served as an inspiration when I wasn't yet a P2, and it was gratifying to fly a couple hours at both north and south sides potm a few months ago, and "close the loop"!
How did it go? Looks amazing!
Thanks for the video and thanks for the fantastic trip!
great :)
Looks great
Look at my friends doing coll things! :)
What was your take of weight on the S size? I guess you flew it in the extended weight at around 90?
Calef's first launch on the Sigma 10!
Glad to see you are getting it! That flying thing looks really fun.
